When I left you we were heading out of Disneyland and to the DLH. Everyone was beat by this time. Truly beat. I had been texting with Alison as we had plans to meet up before our dinner. I had to change the time to about a half hour later due to the kids being exhausted. Can't keep up with the old folks.
In all honesty, I'd nap if I could but I sleep poorly in general and during the middle of the day? No way. LOL!
We headed out of Disneyland and into DTD. Walking out of the park and into DTD seems less painful than walking out of the area completely unless its the final walk out and in that case it's very sad. But I was far from sad. The weather had been a mix of clouds and bright sunshine. DH and I don't nap much so we decided we'd head to the pool while the kids napped.
On our way back to the Disneyland Hotel:
We got to the room, the same one Sadee and I had on our birthday trip
and called bell services. Our bags were up in no time. I can't believe how on top of it the DLH was especially during the peak of Spring Break. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
Once we got our swimsuits on the girls crashed out and Joshua decided to come swim with us. He's no dummy
, he knows when he hangs out with us it's a good time. We left the girls with water bottles and a few snacks. Chloe has a seizure disorder that requires she rest when she feels like she's wearing down. I'm glad Gabby was tired too so they could rest together. Sweet sisters. This is what our hotel looked like mid afternoon:
We went down to the pool and all I can say is wow. They did a great job with the new pool. I was so impressed. The pool wasn't full at all and we grabbed three lounge chairs and an umbrella. I didn't bring my camera because I just wanted to chill but I did get a few pics with my phone.
Of course the pool calls for cocktails. I mean how could we not? I ordered a Mai Tai, Michael got a margarita, and Joshua got the virgin piña colava. We were happy campers.
Michael's
first margarita:
Joshua and I walked around and got some photos. The outdoor fireplace:
I really wish we had a full pool day in addition to our park day. I really enjoy my resort time.
The Monorail slide:
And the iconic signage. Love love love:
See the mix of clouds and sunshine? That's how it was all day. It was great park weather.
We all sat in the hot tub and it was fabulous. We didn't really swim, just chatted and relaxed. It was a perfect afternoon.
Michael had another margarita and it looked just like the first. The 3rd also looked like the first. My honey was buzzed and we had a blast.
I walked Joshua back up to the room as he wanted to shower. I came back down and ordered another drink.
We also decided we may need a small bite so we ordered the Chinese chicken salad to take up to the room so every one could have a few bites if they were hungry. Although we were headed to 1901 and were going to dinner right after, I wanted them to have pre-dinner hunger pains. Hahaha!
It was getting to be that time. We had plans to meet Alison, Fran, and their friend at 1901 in DCA about 4:45. We had dinner reservations for Michael's birthday dinner at Club 33 at 6:15. We were feeling like Disney royalty.
I am so grateful for the generosity bestowed upon us.
On the way up to the room I wanted to check out Trader Sam's. If you order a certain drink the Tikis come alive. I didn't need another drink but wanted to check it out so we popped our heads in. It's really cool and I could easily spend an evening in there:
