Oops! I almost forgot! A few views from BLT studio 7523 . . .

Across the room, toward the balcony:

Early morning on my last day:

Great photos, thanks for sharing. I'm going this summer, so excited :cool1:

Do you guys walk to MK or ride the monorail? I'm just wondering

I am far too excited to visit the CR considering my vacation is still 7 months away. :rolleyes1

I'm the same way......we aren't going until December either.....too long to wait :rotfl: :rotfl:.

mickeynut1 - I really hope you love CR as much as we do!!! I honestly did not think I would, but once we stayed I am hooked :thumbsup2

I hope we do too.....it probably won't top the Poly for us :rolleyes1.....but I'm thinking we will love our stay :goodvibes.

Thanks to all for the prompt hair dryer replies. Mom will be happy to have more room for souvenirs in her suitcase!!

Just FYI - decided to switch to AKL for our August trip. So if anyone wants to upgrade to a deluxe room, they are available 8/2-8/8. (Well, one will be as soon as my TA makes the switch anyway)

Well it's that time....:sad1:

We will be leaving the CR around 10:45 for the airport. Just an FYI....although we take a car service to/from the airport, we bring our luggage down to ME approx 3 hours prior to flight departure and then we don't need to worry about the luggage until we reach our final destination. ;)

Leaving is always so difficult. Our autistic son always seems to go thru a "gagging" bout to and from the airport. We constantly try to "snap" him out of it by trying to engage his mind on something else but doesn't seem to work most of the time. This is probably my only stress with traveling. Someday I hope he gets over this.....poor kid. :sad2:

Of course the weather is beautiful now, and will be for a while....so those leaving ENJOY! We will be bringing home the nasty weather with us back to Boston lol. You're welcome. ;)

We ALL hate leaving so we know just how you feel right now - but you'll be back next at BLT, right? You have some additional challenges with your DS and I can only imagine how stressful the trip home might be for you. Does he like to talk about his trips? Would he be okay talking about the monorail? Maybe he could focus on listing all the colors he rode in this trip and the Ironmanorail and which monorail cards he has? You're a great mom and it's wonderful that your son has been given the gift of Disney.

Smart ME luggage tip!

I totally feel your pain, my DS starts the count down until we leave from the second morning we are there. His last day is usually miserable. We had to tell him that if he was going to get so upset about leaving and let it ruin so much if his trip we would not return. Harsh, I know. But he finally started to get it and we just focus and his what were his favorites and what we should do next time. Although this last time we didn't have a next time planned :( Getting in their head can be so difficult sometimes.

Have a safe trip back! Hopefully Logan isn't too crazy anymore.

Why the switch? :-)

Why the switch? :-)

I had looked at a split stay but DH nixed that idea. But of course after looking into AKL, I really wanted to stay there and thought it might mean a bit more relaxed vacation this time around. It also meant I could add another night for the same price! :-)

Oh cool, that worked out perfect for you guys. You'll love AKL, we had a great stay there! It is definitely a relaxed environment.
Have a great time!

inky dinky doo - I loved seeing your view pics this morning, it made me remember how much I liked my BLV in the tower and made me excited for our lake view at BLT next year. I was thinking I may upgrade to TPV (which we also loved in the tower) but I think I am going to stick with the more serene views of Bay Lake :goodvibes

P.S. I love your screen name ::yes::

I just updated the first and second pages of the thread with links to the great photos posted recently by DemonLlama, inky dinky doo and Georgi Zhukov:thumbsup2

Do we have a time frame for the renovations? I see something in the first post, but maybe I'm reading it wrong as I think it states that everything should be already done?
You read it right (I wrote it wrong:flower3:). I just updated the NEWS portion in Post #1 to reflect that the Garden Wing has begun its soft goods room rehab. I don't have a completion date yet.

I had NO idea Contemporary was undergoing a room refresh until easywdw tweeted some photos today. OMG, :lovestruc:love::lovestruc

Contemporary was our very first family stay at WDW and, though we all enjoyed it (especially since they upgraded us to a CL 2-bedroom suite), we've been having fun trying out new resorts. We're booked at YC for June, but MAN am I tempted to change it. Plus walking to MK and waiting for the monorail in air conditioning sure are nice.... EEK.

Oh good!! I thought I was going crazy!! :goodvibes

So my teacher husband has the first week of April off for spring break next year and with Easter not until April 20, I've decided we are totally going then instead of our annual August trip for 2014.

Is it bad that I haven't ever stayed at CR and I'm already thinking of my second visit? :confused3 We'll be there this August, and I have to keep reminding myself that we can WALK to MK!!! :cheer2:

Weather will be much better the first week of April! May be rainy but less hot and humid. I just checked out spring break and it is earlier than yours so if the rest of FL is in school that week you should have a fantastic time!!!

And YES you can WALK to the MK!!! It's one of our favorite things about CR :)

My son, who has autism, also has a gagging problem. He tends to gag more when he is stressed. I feel so bad for him; because, so many people stop and stare at him. It's hard not to stare because, the gagging is so loud; but, sometimes people keep staring and it only makes things worse for him. I also have found nothing to stop him from gagging.

The reason we go to disney is for my son. He has such a difficult life with Autism and he is always sad and anxious; but, when we go to DW he just has so much joy. The smiles are endless. The trips are priceless.

We are staying at BLT in Sept. Can't wait! My son is so excited for the jacuzzi tub.

Enjoy Your vacation!:)

Oh goodness....I'm sorry your son (and you) have to deal with the gagging issue as well .:(. We surprisingly got lucky yesterday. He was gagging a little bit early on before we left the CR (and crying because he didn't want to leave:(), but Hubby took him around on the monorail a couple times and somehow that did the trick. No more gagging (and I even warned the Limo driver to assure him that my child would not get sick but that he may start gagging)....but he never did from that point on!

Isn't it amazing how Disney affects our kids? He seems to come home just a little bit better (IE: speaking clearer or understanding a bit better)?? It's really a magical place!! :worship: We were able to get him to watch Philharmagic this trip....AND went to see Fantasmic!! We're so happy we have a couple more rides to add to the list! Oh if only we could get him onto the fast rides (like my favorite BTMRR)! :cool1: Maybe someday!!!:thumbsup2

Best wishes for your trip in September!! :goodvibes

For both of the moms that have sons with gagging issues, the post about the monorail stopping the gagging got me thinking...have you ever tried letting your son watch home videos from your trip when the gagging starts? Maybe watching the videos will help him remember the joy of the trip and relieve the stress he is feeling, especially when it's time to leave. Just a thought.

That is a very thoughtful idea! Thank you!:grouphug:

And you hit it right on the mark! The key is distraction. We usually don't know when/where it's going to happen. We just try to "change his thought process" .

It seems to be getting less and less each trip.....this past time being the best! Hopefully one day there will be a gag free trip to celebrate! :yay:
