DISNEY COLLEGE PROGRAM - A Spring 2013 Adventure! *COMPLETE* 11/20

I have been stressed at work and was very happy to have all these updates to wisk me away to Disney!
I enjoyed you saying that you approved of your dads need to see a Disney resort! And he is also ordering Dole Whips! He is a perfect Disney Dad. Having a Dad/Daughter trip is special but a Disney Dad/Daughter trip just has that extra perfect ingredient.

I am cold right now so I especially liked imagining spending the day at the Poly pool. That sounds very warm.

I think switching to just the Communications major does sound sensible and like a good fit for you. So good job on that decision!

You have sooo much to look forward to! Your friends visiting soon. Your trip to the Boardwalk. And more time to really soak up living in Florida.

Thanks for shareing so much of your life with us. It means a lot.

I am sorry you have had a rough time :) Prayers!

Your pup back home is so cute! I have a cockapoo so part cocker spaniel!

Purple is your color. I love that sweatshirt you are wearing at home!

I can not believe you saved a dog!!! That is the best story ever!

Love your trip report! It has been so interesting learning about the DCP. My husband is from upstate New York and is a huge Buffalo Bills fan. Difficult being a fan when he lives on Long Island but he's dealing with it! Good luck with the rest of your semester. Hang in there!:)

April 18th-22nd, 2013 - Normal Routine

April 18th, 2013

I went to class at 1:30 pm and it was my third last communications class! Yay! After that, Mark and I went grocery shopping at Publix. Then I went home and cleaned my room.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

April 19th, 2013

Today I ran some errands, talked to Lia on the phone about her trip, and then worked from 3:45 pm - 10:30 pm.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

April 20th, 2013

This morning I woke up and worked on some trip report stuff and my term paper for school. I worked from 12:45 pm - 9:15 pm.

I craved Wolfgang Puck macaroni and cheese while I was at work... so after work I went to go get it.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN DO THAT!?

img0299my.jpg

I grabbed a strawberry banana smoothie on my way out because I still wanted a little something more. That hit the spot perfectly!

Then I went back to the apartment and fell asleep!

April 21st, 2013

This morning I got up around 10 am. I was really hungry and I was craving a cupcake, so Surge and I went over to Contempo Café. We both got flatbreads. He got pepperoni and I got chicken and artichoke. VERY yummy!

dsc0608pi.jpg

For dessert I got a birthday cake cupcake! (that is the title of the cupcake... it was NOT my birthday) I have been DYING to try this since I saw it on Disney food blog. It had sprinkles baked into the cupcake and buttercream frosting inside of the cupcake. Like... you cant get much better than that! Plus there was a little Minnie Mouse ring on top! TOO CUTE.

The Iron Man 3 monorail kept passing through and it was so cool!

img0306cw.jpg

Surge and I ended up hanging out at Contemporary until we both had to go to work.

img0309ur.jpg

We went through the gift shops and then before we knew it, it was time to leave. I worked from 4 pm - 10:30 pm.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

April 22nd, 2013

Happy 15th Birthday Animal Kingdom! Unfortunately, I was not able to visit today because I had to work. But I am sure I will get there later in the week! I had a 12:30 pm- 9:00 pm shift today!

By the end of my shift I was STARVING, so I changed and went to Pepper Market. I couldn't wait to get home to eat.

I posted on twitter:
Pepper Market is making me dinner tonight because I am too tired to make it myself.

I got a turkey burger and french fries again because that was so good last time.

After I finished my dinner I ran into Café Rix and grabbed some cookies and cream gelato!

img03182.jpg

I sat outside for a little bit and just admired Coronado. It is such a beautiful resort. A phone picture really can't do a justice, but sitting out there and looking at the water and the pool across the way was so peaceful.

img03193.jpg

I went home, got ready for bed, and worked on trip reports until 1:30 am. It felt so good to just write. AH I love it. I also discovered my obsession with the Brave soundtrack on this night. IT IS PERFECT.

I'm having so much fun living vicariously through your trip report. Wish I had heard of DCP while I was in college. Looking forward to reading your continued adventures doing the greatest job on earth! :thumbsup2

I refrained from commenting earlier, but your comments about letting God take care of everything and how you know he will work it out better than you imagined, made me want to comment.
I remember being your age and being absolutely heart broken. I didn't think I would ever get over it...but I did and so has everyone else that has been hurting, and you will too. Not trying to trivialize your emotions at all. You feel everything that you need to right now, but just keep trusting that in time, you will feel better.

Sending hugs and good vibes your way! It is so awesome that you are able to enjoy your job, make the most of your opportunities, and appreciate all the little joys like the beauty of CSR despite whatever else may be going on in your life! Keep on doing your thing! We are all here supporting you!

Jess, It was so cool to read about your time with your Dad at Disney. I have two daughters of my own and what a special few days that was for the two of you.

Love reading your trip reports and just know God promises in Jer 29:11, that he has a wonderful plan for each of us.

The hard part is being patient and waiting for it to be revealed to us :) but your time in Disney and life after college will work out just the way it is supposed to.

April 23rd, 2013 (Part 1) - DinoLand Dance Party!

This morning I woke up around 10 and went over to Mark’s apartment for a while. We just talked, hung out, made some dining reservations, I ate some lunch, and then we went to our class at 1:30 pm.

After class Mark and I headed over to DAK! Even though we couldn’t make it for the 15th anniversary yesterday, we still wanted to go over and visit! Limited Time Magic was dedicated to DAK this week so it was only appropriate.

We arrived and took the tram!

img0329jk.jpg

WELCOME TO DAK!

dsc0615er.jpg

dsc0616zv.jpg

The first thing we did was head to the gift shops to see if any of the DAK 15th anniversary merchandise was left.

10955558884_3f8fc85a1c_z.jpg

We didn’t have any luck at our first stop, but as we were walking we saw T-SHIRTS! We had to grab them. I got a blue one and Mark got an orange and cream one. They were adorable!

img0336e.jpg

We also got some of the DAK 15 pins!

img0335fc.jpg

After that we went into Africa because I really wanted an Earth Day cupcake. I discovered that these were existing this week while I was reading Disney Parks Blog. I went to Kusafari and ordered my treat.

The cupcake was DELICIOUS and a chocolate overload! I ate about a little more than half of it because that’s what I usually do with giant Disney cupcakes. The frosting and pudding melted in your mouth and I was just loving the chocolate flavor. Plus, there were gummy worms. So no one can be mad about that. MMMM I loved it. Best limited time magic ever. Just give me a cupcake and I'm satisfied, ya know?

dsc0620o.jpg

Our next stop was the LIMITED TIME MAGIC DINOLAND DANCE PARTY! I forgot that this existed but Mark is ALL about character experiences so he knew about it. We headed over and THIS WAS THE BEST DANCE PARTY EVER. Usually at dance parties characters can only dance. But at this dance party if you could catch their attention you could get them to sign autographs and/or take pictures!!!

The first group of characters that we got to party with was Timon, Rafiki, and Terk. They were leaving soon though so we didn’t get to spend much time with them.

Then the fun began! Our new friends were Thumper, Miss Bunny, Lilo, and Stitch!

dsc0622e.jpg

THEY DANCED TOGETHER OMG I WAS DYING OF CUTE.

dsc0624b.jpg

Cutest bunnies EVER.

dsc0621nc.jpg

dsc0623cq.jpg

Mark's thing is to take selfies with the characters... and this is my FAVORITE one of the day. Miss Bunny was such a flirt and it was perfect!

missbunny.jpg

The cupid shuffle was on so we all did that together. It was WAY too much fun.

Then I wandered over and got pictures with Lilo....

dsc0625f.jpg

...And Stitch!

dsc0626jo.jpg

We headed to Everest after our dance party and the wait was posted as 5 minutes. Aka there was NO LINE.

Round 1:

dsc0628l.jpg

Then the second time around we waited for the front row. I got some AWESOME pictures!

img0331i.jpg

img0332cu.jpg

"...There doesn't seem to be any track!"

AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

April 23rd, 2013 (Part 2) - Yak & Yeti and Camp Minnie-Mickey!

Then we headed over to Yak and Yeti for our 6 o'clock reservation!

dsc0631xm.jpg

We were seated downstairs. Mark ordered a non-alcoholic strawberry daiquiri for his drink and he said it was REALLY good.

dsc0632ck.jpg

For my meal I got the beef stir fry and broccoli. Oh my goodness, this was SO good. I broke away from the lo mein for the first time ever and thankfully I was not disappointed in the least. This meal was fantastic. The sauces they used, the beef, the rice, and the vegetables were all prepared perfectly.

dsc0635de.jpg

Mark got the vegetable lo mein and he was really impressed with how good it was!

dsc0634s.jpg

We decided to split the fried wontons for dessert. I can't come to Yak and Yeti and not get those beautiful things! They are SUCH an amazing dish! For those of you who don't know, they are cream cheese stuffed dessert wontons with pineapple and strawberries and a delicious sauce drizzled on top. NOMS.

dsc0636p.jpg

We still had about 20-25 minutes until park close so we went over to Camp Minnie Mickey! There were NO LINES for any of the characters so we got to meet absolutely everybody!

Baloo and King Louie were first!

dsc0637u.jpg

dsc0639np.jpg

dsc0640nl.jpg

Then Minnie was next!

dsc0642hy.jpg

dsc0643uu.jpg

dsc0644k.jpg

The photopass photographer got a picture of Mark in selfie action. BEHIND THE SCENES OF MARK'S INSTAGRAM.

dsc0645sg.jpg

Then we met our boss, Mickey! He loved that he and Minnie were on my shirt!

dsc0647zp.jpg

dsc0648p.jpg

Mickey selfie!

dsc0649bq.jpg

Then our last visit was Donald!

dsc0651m.jpg

Right before everyone left for park close, we saw Mickey and Minnie standing around. Mark asked if we could get a picture with them before they headed on their way, and we got the last pictures of the night!

dsc0653y.jpg

dsc0654y.jpg

THAT WAS WAY TOO MUCH FUN! Not to mention this was Mark's first time back to Camp Minnie Mickey since he was 7 years old! So we had an absolutely perfect experience!

dsc0656ys.jpg

Work it, Minnie!

dsc0657c.jpg

We headed out of the park after that. We went back to the apartment and Mark and I watched Wreck it Ralph!

Once Wreck it Ralph was over, I went home and Mark went to bed. I worked on trip reports, uploaded lots of pictures, and talked to my friend Alicia on the phone. Today was SUCH a good day. It's amazing how great you can feel after meeting so many characters. :-)

Yeahhh you caught up with the TR :-) Great updates!
I'm following Mark on Instagram (I'm a stalker, I know) and I LOVE his pics with the characters... They are so much fun!

I love that Mark does character selfies! So fun. One of my goals for my trip next month is to meet as many characters as possible, instead of just focusing on rides. Also, those wontons look AMAZING!

I so loved reading up on all your updates, Jess! My day is automatically made whenever you post!

Virtual hugs and pixie dust, Disney princess! My fiancé and I have basically spent our whole relationship long distance, so I can empathize greatly. You are so right when you say that God has a plan to take care of you and that what was meant to be will be. Never forget that He has your best interest at heart, dear. :)

Be sure and eat some Ohana bread pudding for me soon, k? I'm living vicariously through you til our Disneymoon in October! ;)

Great updates, as always! Congrats on being picked to be a Campus Rep, how amazing!! I love that you got to pick up an extra shift at the BOARDWALK!!! :yay: I love that resort, the whole Epcot resorts area is just so perfect, so I can't even imagine what it would be like to work there! :goodvibes I want to work at Disney sooooo badly, and unfortunately I graduated from college years ago, so the CP is out for me, but someday I'm just going to apply for a job there and see what happens! I'd love to work at a resort, but I don't know how you'd get in without doing the CP, does that ever happen? :rotfl:

Glad you're having such an amazing experience! And you still have so many months left! :dance3:

Ahh I love that DAK shirt! So glad you made it over there to celebrate with the Limited Time Magic. Heck, even my sister went over there with some people she works with and she doesn't like DAK that much!

Aww your pictures from the Contemporary make me miss being there. I want to go back to BLT!

Oh, and your Mickey Mouse Club shirt is super cute too. I can't imagine how many Disney shirts you must have!

Thanks for all the updates! I have lots of random thoughts, in no particular order: (1) you posted a pic from your trip home of you and your frump-in-crime Kristen- how can Disney not make both of you Princesses?! So pretty! (2) Reading this after a punishing cardio workout and while drinking a spinach smoothie, I have decided to give it all up for WDW cupcake diet! You are getting prettier and skinnier as the weeks go by...envy! (3) Love that your Dad always looks like he is about to laugh when he smiles! (4) Of course a random puppy would hop into the car with you...Disney Princesses always have critter sidekicks! (5) Congrats on the Campus Rep position! I have a feeling that you are going be a wonderful asset to the WDW company for many years to come!::yes::

PS- We are fans of the old school Tink too. Boo to talking Fairies!

Just wanted to say again how much I enjoy following along on your adventures! Sounds like you've had a rough couple weeks but you're a very positive, forward-thinking person so I have no doubt you'll be just fine. You and Mark's day in AK looked perfect - so great you have a circle of wonderful friends.
