Oct. 12, 2013 - WONDERful cruise from Galveston

We're jumping ship, guys, to the 12/14 sailing. It just works better with our vacation schedule. Could you remove us from the roll call and FE group? Have a great cruise!!! --Katie

Sorry to see you go. Happy cruising. December is a great time to cruise. Don't forget the tree lighting the first night.

Can I be added to the FB group? Is that where the FE is taking place? THX my name is Lisa Orlando Gavin

My family DW and DS8 and parents are now booked and can't wait, we will be in rooms 6028 and 6030. Definitely want to participate in the FE.

Sorry we have to jump ship to November because of a wedding DH has to go to!!!! Enjoy your cruise no one added me to FB group, I don't need to be added anymore lol

Can someone add me to FB group? Do any of you have any thoughts on what would be the best dinner rotation for our cruise?

Kpkm23, the FB page is a closed group, but you could probably search for Kate Mickley as she is the administrator and could add you. I think she lists herself on page 7 or 8 of this thread if you want to PM her.

As for dinner assignment, it depends on the age of you group and what time zone you come from. The first seating is usually the younger crowd just because many of them are in bed by the second seating. Time zone could matter in that if you come from say California which is two hours behind Texas (I think), then the second seating may not bother you as 8pm in Texas is 6 pm in California. Hope that helps.

Thanks Ill search her on FB.

We are doing early. I meant which rotation as far as which restaurant which night. I know it is only a request but I would like to request a certain rotation based on formal nights and going to Palo etc. Im guessing our formal nights will be Sunday and Thursday????

I can add you to the group. Just PM me your email address. We have older kids and liked the second seating last time...

97% sure we are booking this trip within the next few days!

Momma and I are going to have a blast!!

Has anyone heard if our cruise will have any Halloween themed activities? I see in years past cruises starting even in mid-October like ours have been included. pirate:

We went the exact same week last year on the Magic and there were no activities.

Just wondering how all of you who are flying in are going to get get port. My family is flying in and we are driving. I am trying to set up their transportation but with 11 of them, it isn't easy. The super shuttle seems to be the cheapest at $140 each way but only holds 10.

Hi everyone! I am just waiting to hear from Tracey with DU to change our dummy date to this date. We were on the Wonder last year in September and LOVED it! We can't wait to go back. It will be just DH and myself. We would love to participate in a FE also! Can't wait to get to know you all!:beach:

We're working on transportation also. We're flying in the night before and leaving the morning after. I called DCL and we can stay at the airport for 165 or at the port for 205 per room. then take their transport for 60 each but with 8 of us that's expensive. I like to have my own schedule but like the thought if not having to wait in long lines at the port with my luggage by checking in at the airport. I've heard they are not as organized as port canaveral.

We did not use their transportation but did stay at the same hotel the night before. I agree it didn't look as organized as Port Canaveral. The hotel is awesome, we got a city view and were able to see the ship from our window when we got up. We like to arrive early and get on ASAP so we stay close by. We just did the Magic out of Galveston March 1st. The terminal is not as nice and you have your cruise documents and ID's checked before you go through security.

I'm not sure the best options for transportation as there are not as many choices as in Florida. With 8 people would it be cheaper to rent a passenger van? That way you are in control of your own transportation. I have not looked at prices but it might be an option. There are several hotels that offer cruise parking and a shuttle, or you can park at many places near the port for approximate 12-15 dollars per day. Checking in at the port you can drop off everyone and the luggage, while one person goes to park the vehicle and take the shuttle back. This procedure took us about 15 minutes then we were all together and ready to head into the terminal.

I'm still trying to figure out the best plan for my family of 5 that's arriving Friday. Seems like super shuttle is the most reasonable since I can choose a cheaper hotel with a shuttle to port.

That's what we're thinking too. My family hasn't bought plane tickets yet so not sure which airport they'll fly into.
