Official 2014 Donald Half Marathon

I just registered! It'll be my first 1/2 marathon, so I'm wicked nervous!

I am training now, hoping to hit 5k by June/July and 10k by September/October!

i am IN!!!!!

i was scheduled to run in 2011, but wound up pregnant instead. (and yes, i'd rather have my son than any race medal.) i have finally gotten myself back into shape and training. so, i WILL be there and WILL get my medal!

Yay! More runners to run with

Hey Donald runners! I am deciding between Donald or Princess? I have run Princess the last two years and this year was very crowded. Anyone run both? What race is your favorite?

I did the Goofy in 2012 the half is the most fun half I have ever ran. We still talk about how much fun and relaxing it was. Thumbs up for Donald

Any one know when the 2013 Donald Duck half marathon sold out? I want to sign-up but need a more training under my belt before I have the confidence to spend the $160 registration fee.

I'm a total running newbie, but such a huge Donald fan that this race has motivated me to get moving.:donald:

It didn't sell out until early September last year--but it was also July before it go to 60ish% full like it is now. With the new (official) Dopey, everything is a bit out of whack this year.

That said, you can absolutely be ready for a half by January! Or at least I hope so, because I haven't been running at all in the past few months and will basically be starting at zero. ;)

Thanks for the info - I'm hoping to wait until June before registering. By then, I should have an idea how my body is responding to the training.

I'm in! I ran the W&D 2012 as my first 1/2, this will be my 4th, maybe 5th (depends on how good I feel). My husband is running too, but we don't race together, so I'll let him post on his own - if he even sees this! ;)

I'm in and signed up! This will be my third half marathon but first Disney half. I ran the full disney marathon back in 2012 and decided one marathon was enough. We should have quite the group running it with mixed paces and experience. My DH (who runs a sub 3 hr marathon), my friend and her husband, who runs a few disney races every year, my BIL (his first half), my older sister and her boyfriend (first half). We will be boarding the Disney Dream on Sunday with a group of over 25 people so lots of people to cheer us on!

Sounds like a lot of fun! Are you from West Virginia or an alum of WVU? Just curious about your user name! :thumbsup2

Both! Graduated from WVU in 2006 and lived in Parkersburg, WV. I bleed blue and gold!

You can add me to the list! :cool1: I am doing the 10K and the 1/2. Looking forward to a meet up and hearing everyone's training schedule. I am doing my first 1/2 in New York in June, and Wine and Dine in November, but made sure I signed up right away for Donald and Minnie. Did not want to miss out:thumbsup2

I just registered DW and I for the half! After running the full this year and debating on going Goofy next, I opted for the shorter run. Training for the full was brutal since I work crazy long hours October-mid December. I knew Goofy would be even tougher. Glad to get our registration done before it filled up!

My parents are from Wheeling and WVU alum! Always fun to meet another Mountaineer!

Welcome! pixiedust:

Aha, well this is a better spot for me. I had previously joined what I thought was the "marathon weekend" thread, thinking it was for the whole weekend, but this will be better.

DS and I will do the 5K, the next day he'll do the Mickey Mile, and the following day I'll do the Half. Yikes!

In October I will have done the TOT, so hopefully I'll be prepared for the Half. :) But right now I feel like the 10 miles is longer than the half! :3dglasses

Is anyone having this same problem? I go to download the half marathon training program on rundisney, but it gives me the marathon program. I click on the marathon training program (that site reacts weirdly with firefox and sometimes I have to click on the link above something to get what I want...but I am using Safari) and I get the marathon. Basically, no training program for the half! Anyone else?

Yep, I see the same thing. Weird. :confused3 I had already taken the Time Improvement half plan and entered it on my training calendar, so I'm good. I'm sure they'll get it straightened out soon!
