2013 Free Dining Watch

For those of you who have guessed the 4/25 date is that the general public date or the visa date? I still realize this is totally just a guess but you guys know more that me as this is only my 3rd trip as a mom on a budget and the first time we went in 2009 we paid for dining and in 2011 we got free dining but were so in-experienced we didn't know how great of a deal it was. Now in 2013 I am spoiled and am expecting FD:) but I am booked at the campsites and if FD is offered I need to change to another resort unless they decide to (by some miracle) include the campsites. I have a business trip all next week out of the country with limited internet access and I am terrified I am going to miss it! :flower3:

I would say it would be the Visa date with GP following in a few days.

I didn't see if anyone posted this yet, but Liberty Travel is offering free QS dining at values & moderates for dates in June. I think this is a decent sign that Disney itself will be offering some form of FD this summer. (Hopefully so, as we've booked plane tickets and will be going September 2-9, FD or not! A discount would be nice, though!)

Read the fine print.

So NOT Free dining, just a way to get people to book.

We haven't been for FD since 2010. Really hoping its offered this year. I know many choose to book packages with the hopes of adding on FD when it comes out. Just curious if this is an actual advantage or just a perceived advantage. If I booked ahead at POR (our resort of choice) and FD does come out, don't I still have to call before availability for FD at POR is used up. I always thought there was a limited number of rooms with FD. Any advice based on personal experience would be appreciated.

Hey, two days of a free DP is better than zero days of free DP! Anyway, I wasn't saying this was an awesome deal, just that I think it indicates Disney will still offer FD at some point this year.

Nope 2 days is WAY better than nothing. I wasn't saying it was bad, it's just not free dining. It's a promotion for people to use that TA.....

A good one I might add!!!

My best advice to anyone who is even just "thinking" about going back in 2014, if Free Dining is the BounceBack offer, reserve it!! That way you don't have to play the wait and see game with this particular discount. This is the second year we take advantage of it and boy am I ever thankful.

That's just my two cents!! :yay:

We are going in Sept. and I am soooooooooo hoping we get a bounce back offer with FD. We have never been offered a BB with free dining before. Will surely take advantage if we are offered!:cool1:

I think the poster just meant that it's not being offered by Disney, but the TA, so it's not really a sign towards Disney's upcoming promotions.

:wave2::wave2: Hi and welcome to the dirty house club, where you may not get dinner tonight but 180 days from your vacation date, we can give you an exact time you will eat plus menus...lol

lol... I love this!!! Same at my house. My DH says the same thing...We don't know what we're having for dinner tonight, but in 180 days we do!!:rotfl:

Getting nervous about fd I've heard that it will possibly come out on the 25 th but haven't heard any news about it:( I have our flights all booked for aug 28th, does anyone think my dates are good for fd if its offered?:flower3:

Even if it's not released on the 25th, do not freak out, stay calm:thumbsup2. I am sure something will be released. I am keeping my fingers crossed too. I have my ressies made for end of Sept. and I am a little over on our vacation budget. So, I am patiently waiting because room/package or FD discount will put us under budget.:upsidedow Here's to staying calm and preparing not to be discouraged if we don't get THE NEWS on the 25th!:grouphug:

^^^ I agree. If they offer I'm booking. Cause this waiting around is terrible. This way it will be done deal. And we can always cancel or change it up of needed.

We have booked the BB with free dining every year but our last trip there was no BB offered. I even called the BB number.
If there is no free dining offered we will not be going to Disney. I thought of booking a cruise but DH is anti cruising.sigh

Finally made the decision to change from the campsites to a resort in order to take advantage of any potential FD offers. I have a basic family of 4 (kids 8 & 9). Any idea if it would be better to get a moderate resort which typically includes the nicer dining package or a value and upgrade from the basic dining? Also if booking Value (I have never stayed at any Values) which do you think is the best? If you think stick with moderate which one? I have stayed at CBR a couple of times and liked it but that was the only one I have ever stayed in. As a kid we always did deluxe resorts but I don't have the same budgets as my folks:)
