Question about those BWV 2BR with no living room balcony

What floor are those on? I've stayed at BWV several times and never experienced one of those rooms. I have a 2BR Boardwalk View reserved for May and I requested the 2nd floor due to my father's fear of heights. I took him there a few years ago and he loved going out on the balcony.

Do I also need to request a balcony off the living room or do all the 2nd floor rooms have a living room balcony?:confused3

Mine was on the 4th floor. I think with second floor you would be OK although many have full wood fronts, which means you really can't see much sitting down.

I believe the one on the fourth floor directly above Big River Grill on the boardwalk is the only room in the entire resort where the living room has no exit to a balcony (or ground level porch). All the second floor boardwalk view rooms have balconies that you can enter from the living room.

Perfect, Thanks! :thumbsup2

Villas 4011 and 4017 are the two "Boardwalk View" 1 Bedroom Lock Offs (above the Big River Grill) with no Living Room Balcony Access.

It is important to note that there are a fair number of Studios and 1 Bedrooms Villas through-out the entire resort which are similiar to these in that there is a 1 Bedroom sharing a single balcony/patio or even no balcony/patio at all. These villas include dedicateds and lock-offs. For some the shared balcony/patio access is off the bedroom and others off the livingroom.

Villas 3051, 4051 and 5051 are Dedicated 1 Bedrooms facing the courtyard which are sometimes assigned as "Boardwalk View" are just some examples.

BUT......the solid front also offers a lot more privacy:) since one of my favorite things in life (seriously) is sipping coffee as dawn breaks across crescent lake:confused3 - or wine/tea whilst illuminations bursts over the eiffel tower - in PJs, the privacy afforded by a solid balcony is wonderful :lovestruc

I had 5051 once, there was only a small balcony off the living room. The bedroom had windows.

Am I understanding correctly what you are saying? No balcony or patio off of the room at all? I've never heard or or noticed that at BWV. I thought that all DVC had at least one outside access point off of a room (except for one studio at VWL). We also have had 5051 with the small, single balcony off of the living area but I thought that was as bad as it got at BWV.

I seem to recall someone mentioning that there were two BW studios at the end of a hallway which did not have a balcony/patio and made my statement based on that. As I recheecked my data, photos and notes however I did not see where these villas could fit in and be located. All the exterior photos I have showing the 20 or so missing balconies are apparently only assoiated with 1 bedroom units. So I apologize for the mis-information Kathy, as it does in fact appear all villas have at least one outside access point.

Thanks for looking over your info. :thumbsup2

Are you saying that there are at least 20 1BR villas that do NOT have balconies??:confused3 If so, with my luck, I'll get one! I have the worst luck ever with rooms at Disney; most of the time. :( I booked a standard view 1BR. I know it won't be as totally awesome as other views, but I don't want it to bum me out.
Thanks,
Kimberley

No, there are 20 one bedroom units with only 1 balcony instead of 2. Typically there is one off the living room and one off the bedroom or one long one outside both. These units just have one, either off the living room or off the bedroom.

Thank you Debbie B!!:thumbsup2

Here is a listing of the 1 Bedroom Units I was able to identify which only have a single balcony off the living room meaning there are only windows and no balcony off the the master bedroom. ( D=Dedicated, L=Lock-off )

3051 (D), 4051 (D), 5051 (D)
4022 (D), 5022 (D)
4023 (D), 5023 (D)
4038 (D), 5038 (D)
4040 (D), 5040 (D)
4074 (L), 5074 (L)
4076 (L), 5076 (L)
4090 (D), 5090 (D)
4091 (D), 5091 (D)

As stated before, 4011(L) and 4017(L) each have a single balcony with access only from the master bedroom.

Has anyone tried requesting a room with two balconies, or large balcony, at BWV? Not sure what wording would be best to give MS. We've been lucky to always has two balconies off of a 1 bedroom so far.

I know someone who always requests "large balcony" and he usually gets it. He calls it his "party balcony".

I'm picturing a third floor studio over Wyland... Always wanted to get one of those but we very rarely stay in a studio.

Maybe I'll try the "large balcony" route with MS and see if it works. Its been a long time since we've had a balcony that spanned from the living room to bedroom, usually its just the two smaller balconies which is fine too. But I really like when we get one large balcony.

Interesting thread. It is VERY important to me to have balcony access from the living room AND bedroom. We will be there for 11 nights BWV standard 1 bed...I don't care about view..i don't care about location...I just please please want a balcony off of my bedroom. I LOVE sitting on balcony early morning and at night but cant do this if dd is asleep in the living room.

Last year we were unfortunate enough to get a 1 bed at WLV with no balcony off the bedroom...then the following week SAME thing at BWV BW view!...NO BALCONY off the bedroom. I think they hate me!;)

This yr Iam keeping everything crossed and have made one request to MS for 2 open balconys off the bedroom and living room. I wasn't sure how to word it though..:)

all BWV room have balconies or patios. Only WLV and a 1 studio without a balcony ( I think 4033 # number might be wrong) I know because our 1st DVC stay (2002) as new owners of BWV was at WLV and they tried to give me this room. I knew because of the DIS B about this room. Mad them change it at the desk, cm didn't know room had no balcony:cool1:
