Our numbers are 1, 5, 17, 33, and 1901. A very magical day at Disney: 5/30 complete!

I'm confused, they didn't give you 5 FPs?

I'm loving your storytelling! I hope those APs work out, that would be fantastic :)

They gave us 2 of these. :woohoo: I knew I took a picture but forgot to add it. They came in handy.

I'm hoping that Disneyland waits to increase their AP prices until I can find out if I can snag the GCV during the holidays. I'm not sure I want APs if we can't stay GCV this December. I know I can use points towards a standard room at either the GCH, DLH, or PPH but they're cost a lot more. In retrospect we really should have bought at the GCV instead of SSR. I didn't realize we'd be going to Disneyland so much. But if we bought at the GCV we wouldn't have got the THV at 7 months. I need a GCV add on in a bad way.

I'm glad you're enjoying the report. :)

Ahhh, that was really cool then. I thought it was super mean of them not to give everybody a FP.

Oh yes, I understand about add-ons. It gets in the bloodstream and doesn't let go. Best not to fight these things :rotfl:

Another great update. Such a shame Indy was down but those instant FPs are rather handy!

Looking forward to your next update.

Thank you!!! I have been searching for the Eeyore sign the last few times I went on Indiana Jones but I always ended up stopping in a section too far back ... plus, I've been looking in the wrong place!! I always thought it was off to the right of where your picture shows it, not right above the projector and scaffolding.

When I'd go with the band as a teen, they'd drill it into our heads every time: The bus is parked in E for Eeyore. So it has even more meaning to me. :)

Now I need to go back (with my AP!) so I can see it!

Hahaha! Can you imagine: you get a FP and you don't. :rotfl2: They did come in handy for sure.

I've been looking at resales for the GCV but I'm not loving all of the restrictions. I think 100 points would be perfect. My Disney Visa is screaming at me to put down the $1,000 6 months, zero interest down payment. :hyper: Maybe I'll call our guide. I know the GCV have a one bedroom and 2 bedroom for our dates right now but at 7 months or any day before, things can change. I don't want to add on unless our guide can secure us a reservation for our dates and I have no idea if that's possible.

It was actually kind of fun to be able to get that photo as silly as it sounds. I've wanted it forever and the minute we got stuck DH took out the camera. We got stuck right where we could take the photo. Fate? pixiedust:

You're very welcome. I was so happy when I saw how well it turned out. My geek flag was flying high. I'd seen it twice before but could never break out the camera and take a pic without bugging everyone. It was perfect timing and we were in the perfect spot. And we got FPs. Bonus! We were actually standing around the corner and DH took it through the break in the walls right behind the screen.

Here's my AP dilemma. We'd need Premieres which are each $200 more than Deluxe. The days of our girls missing school are long gone. They're gone because they are slackers who have proven they cannot keep up. ;) DS is fine missing school but the girls have DH's studying habits. Lol! Anyway, we'd have to go during peak times which isn't the end of the world as we'd have more days. If we get APs we'd go this Christmas, Spring Break 2014, summer, and in mid October 2014 or there about.

When is your next trip to Disneyland? Are you going during your next cruise? The line is amazing. I should have taken more photos but it was literally a walk on. That morning was great but I like to move a little slower in general. There's always next time. :teeth:

I also love the new Partners statue. I can't wait to go back and visit Buena Vista St. and take a big bite out of DCA.

Less than 4 weeks now. We have 4 nights in Southern California. We will spend the first night at the Grand Californian and then the other three with our friends in Seal Beach. I will spend the Friday at California Adventure by myself and then on the Saturday, we will go to Disneyland with our friends. Sunday we will spend with our friends and Monday we get on the Disney Wonder. I have just bought my ticket for Disneyland this morning.

Seal Beach? I've got dear friends who live in Seal Beach. We were just there during this Disneyland trip. Spend a few days there. I love Seal. I bought this great lighthouse for my mantle in one of the little shops. I grew up going to all of those bars on Main, good times. Love Hennesey's. Walt's Wharf has the best oak grilled artichoke ever and there's a new place called 320 Main that looks great. And I can't leave out the breakfast burritos at Nick's. So good. I'm defenity in for your report.

Love the Grand too. It's so gorgeous. I'm excited to hear all about your trip.

Is your cruise to Mexico?

For a little place, Seal Beach sure gets around!

Another fan of Seal Beach and Walt's here. :wave2:

It sure does. It's a great little beach town, easy to park, great little bars and restaurants. Good times. Walts clam chowder is awesome too. On this Disneyland trip I had a bowl of chowder and an artichoke. It was heavenly. I should have done a full vacation report.

When I left you we were heading out of Disneyland and to the DLH. Everyone was beat by this time. Truly beat. I had been texting with Alison as we had plans to meet up before our dinner. I had to change the time to about a half hour later due to the kids being exhausted. Can't keep up with the old folks. :rotfl: In all honesty, I'd nap if I could but I sleep poorly in general and during the middle of the day? No way. LOL!

We headed out of Disneyland and into DTD. Walking out of the park and into DTD seems less painful than walking out of the area completely unless its the final walk out and in that case it's very sad. But I was far from sad. The weather had been a mix of clouds and bright sunshine. DH and I don't nap much so we decided we'd head to the pool while the kids napped.

On our way back to the Disneyland Hotel:

We got to the room, the same one Sadee and I had on our birthday trip :woohoo: and called bell services. Our bags were up in no time. I can't believe how on top of it the DLH was especially during the peak of Spring Break. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. :thumbsup2

Once we got our swimsuits on the girls crashed out and Joshua decided to come swim with us. He's no dummy ;), he knows when he hangs out with us it's a good time. We left the girls with water bottles and a few snacks. Chloe has a seizure disorder that requires she rest when she feels like she's wearing down. I'm glad Gabby was tired too so they could rest together. Sweet sisters. This is what our hotel looked like mid afternoon:

We went down to the pool and all I can say is wow. They did a great job with the new pool. I was so impressed. The pool wasn't full at all and we grabbed three lounge chairs and an umbrella. I didn't bring my camera because I just wanted to chill but I did get a few pics with my phone.

Of course the pool calls for cocktails. I mean how could we not? I ordered a Mai Tai, Michael got a margarita, and Joshua got the virgin piña colava. We were happy campers.

Michael's first margarita:

Joshua and I walked around and got some photos. The outdoor fireplace:

I really wish we had a full pool day in addition to our park day. I really enjoy my resort time.

The Monorail slide:

And the iconic signage. Love love love:

See the mix of clouds and sunshine? That's how it was all day. It was great park weather.

We all sat in the hot tub and it was fabulous. We didn't really swim, just chatted and relaxed. It was a perfect afternoon.

Michael had another margarita and it looked just like the first. The 3rd also looked like the first. My honey was buzzed and we had a blast.

I walked Joshua back up to the room as he wanted to shower. I came back down and ordered another drink.

We also decided we may need a small bite so we ordered the Chinese chicken salad to take up to the room so every one could have a few bites if they were hungry. Although we were headed to 1901 and were going to dinner right after, I wanted them to have pre-dinner hunger pains. Hahaha! :rotfl:

It was getting to be that time. We had plans to meet Alison, Fran, and their friend at 1901 in DCA about 4:45. We had dinner reservations for Michael's birthday dinner at Club 33 at 6:15. We were feeling like Disney royalty. pixiedust: I am so grateful for the generosity bestowed upon us. :thanks:

On the way up to the room I wanted to check out Trader Sam's. If you order a certain drink the Tikis come alive. I didn't need another drink but wanted to check it out so we popped our heads in. It's really cool and I could easily spend an evening in there:

To be continued........

You're leaving us hanging about 1901 and Club 33. Can't wait to read about your reaction and the family's!

The pool looks great!

I have so many photos from both that I'm going to need probably two uninterrupted hours to write each of them. Chloe was our photographer and did a great job. She captured so much which was great.

Their reactions to both were awesome. They actually knew about 1901. We gave them the option to stay at the room, go to the parks, or come with us. I knew they'd choose to join us. I was so excited there was no way they'd miss out. In general they kind of figure I'm their mom and I might know a little about some things but when it comes to Disney and vacations they know they'll have a better time sticking with me than venturing on their own for more than a ride or two..This night did not disappoint.

I think my teens are finally figuring this out too. We had told them they might be able to split off for awhile on our recent trip, but we were all having so much fun they never even asked!

Kinda nice when they believe Mom is an expert ... even if it's just in this one area!

p.s. I also can't wait to see the reactions!

I am glad that you got some down time. The Margaritas looked great. I do love Trader Sam's, but have never been inside.

Its amazing when they finally realize we aren't total dorks. :rotfl: It's also nice for them to verbalize that we may actually know something. Thats nice that you all stayed together. I think your kids are a little younger than mine.

What a great afternoon :) I can't wait to hear what comes next!

It really was such a great afternoon. As I type this report, I can't believe everything we experienced in just one day.

It was pretty crowded and really neat inside. I'd love to have an afternoon there. That big deck area is nice too and the lanterns were cool. I need a trip to the DLH or at least to be ale to send a full day.

Finally caught up! :thumbsup2

I have to admit that surprised me. I can't imagine kids napping while at Disney if you are only there for one day! The pool now...that's another story.

I really want to visit Tiki Sam's.

I really want to do a surprise trip, it's been a while. I love surprise trips! Or just surprised in general. Loving the many many you have packed into one day.

So...did you guys have lunch or just early pastries and then breakfast? I feel like I missed lunch,....

Great morning but oh that family, they should have listened to you! You were robbed a few rides :(

I completely agree with you, the cart pastries are BLEH.

You missed breakfast. It's on page 3. We ate a proper breakfast at the Riverbelle. Gotta have pancakes. :thumbsup2 We skipped lunch and had snacks and that salad and of course the fruit in my drinks count as food right? I always pack a ton of food. We had jerky and fruit etc....they snacked but I did kind of starve them so they'd pig out at Club 33. ;)

They slept. They know they're going back. I've made it too easy for them. I'm glad they slept though. It made the meet and long dinner so enjoyable as everyone was awake and engaged. Chloe will seize if she doesn't get enough rest so I never balk when she wants to nap. And let's be honest, less kids = less money + a better time. :lmao: Does that sound bad? I'm teasing of course. I love when we're all together but also understand a little away time is good too.

I got robbed! But like them I'll know I'll be back. We haven't made up our minds about APs yet. I'm waiting for the inevitable AP price increase before I get serious about pressuring Michael into a December holiday trip. :stir:
