I would think if a large group reserved 30 rooms - then CSR would have them ready upon arrival.

Today a group arrived at 11 AM - up since 3 AM - and no 30 rooms available.
Said to wait till 3 PM.

So I apologize for the :faint: tired zombies walking around CSR today, 4/19/13, waiting to get into their rooms to take a nap. :cloud9:

It really doesn't matter how many rooms you reserve. Those rooms probably have guests in them from the night before. Would you have them kicked out of the rooms early just because your big group arrived at 11am? Or would you prefer to have all those rooms ready at 11am but dirty from the night before?

Not to be antagonistic or anything, but I think WDW's published check-in time is 3pm. Rooms are often ready earlier than that, but 3pm is all they guarantee. I've often travelled with a very large group and I can tell you it's MORE complicated to get a big block of rooms ready than it is to get individual rooms ready.

CSR did NOTHING wrong here. Check in time is 3pm. Why would you expect that a block of 30 rooms would be ready at 10am? I say if you want rooms ready on arrival, arrive after check in time.

Really???? I think the PPs comments summed it up perfectly. Hopefully your rooms will be ready early. Good Luck :)

DH and I attended many conventions and did some group travel and never were we told to expect early check in. Often the organizers would rent a banquet room and provide snacks and drinks for us while we rested/waited for our rooms to be ready. (Organizers paid for it- not the hotel !)

The only way CSR could have had the rooms ready by 11 would be to not rent them out the night before - x 30 rooms I really don't think that is a reasonable request.

XX fingers that some folks checked out early and you can get rooms asap :)

It would be nice if the rooms were ready but the published check in time is 3pm. and check-out time isn't until 11am. Truthfully with a large group I would think I had less of a chance of the room being ready early.

30 rooms ready that early? That is a lot to ask since check isn't "officially" until 3 pm and the current guests have until 11 AM to check out. We had housekeeping at our door at 8:30, 9:00 and 9:30 AM on check out day. We finally told them..and so did the people next door.. that we were checking out, and they could clean our rooms after we left.

Hopefully people were able to check in as rooms were ready, though.

True. Keeping 30 rooms unoccupied for an early check in is just not going to happen. And as everyone says, check in is 3pm. I hope you can find some nice lounge chairs along the pool to relax in till your rooms are all ready.

That is my plan, for pre WDW we are spending some time in Lauderdale, flying in on a red eye, so arriving early. Our plan is to just relax around the pool and have a nice breakfast & lunch till room is ready.

I love CSR, so when I read the heading title I was like uh oh here we go.

At first I didn't know if the OP was serious or not..... I've gotten lucky once in getting into a room earlier than expected... I think it was like 1:30 or so. As hard as it is to get 1 RM turned over and cleaned , 30 would be almost impossible.

I wouldn't say poo poo to CSR because if this is what bothers you and your trip just started what's going to happen when you have to wait 2 minutes to be seated at the pepper market? Or better yet wait maybe 5 minutes for the bus to one of the parks.

Hopefully everything works out because honestly this is one of the best resorts on WDW properties.

Agree with other posters, 30 rooms all at once before posted check-in time is a lot to expect even at a resort the size of CSR. All Disney promised is that you would have a room at 3 PM at day of check-in (and even that might be a lot to expect if you arrived RIGHT at 3 PM, since Disney can't literally kick people out of their rooms if people linger past check-out time). This is even more true if you wanted the 30 rooms located relatively near each other...

As others have said, check-in is 3 pm, and there are almost 2000 rooms on-site, so 30 of those 2000 is not very much, comparatively. Maybe the next time you're in this situation, you might want to let the resort/hotel know of your early arrival and they can try to accommodate, but there is never a guarantee.

This is also why you should always pack warm weather/pool clothes, a nap at the pool is still a nap!

"Upon arrival." Really? What if you arrived at 7:00 am? If you get your room before the published time of 3:00, you are very fortunate. Hope you can get past it and enjoy your stay. We love CSR!

I don't know how you expected 30 rooms to be available on arrival (when arriving 4 hours prior to the official check-in time) when it's not very often that WDW resort guests even get one room available on arrival. You're not guaranteed anything different because you have 30 rooms.

Sorry, but this one isn't on CSR.

Poor planning on your part (getting there 4 hours before check in with a large group) does not constitute a problem on CSR's part.

once did check in at 7am - when did I get a room that night at 6pm....

and did not even get an apologize from anyone for my waiting that long.

hope your group gets there rooms at or before 3:00pm - but don't count on it. You are guaranteed a room - Disney tries for 3pm - but it is NOT guaranteed to be ready at that time.

if your rooms are together - chances are only one or two (if you are lucky) CM are cleaning them. if the rooms were left in pretty good order 30 minutes or less per room - if not then it takes longer. if anything was split and they have to clean the carpet - then since they will not let you in until the thing dries - it can take hours.

Was Disney supposed to kick people out of their rooms in order to accommodate your group? Some may have requested late check out. Or would your group have appreciated sleeping on someone else's sheets and using their dirty towels? The rooms have to be serviced. If you had booked anywhere on property in a full resort, your rooms would not have been ready.
