Sorry Gaston, They are MUCH More Interesting Than You!*6/8* NEW Trip Report Link p154

Oh my goodness, that's so scary about Denny, Mary Ellen! At least you took him to the ED when you recognized something was wrong and stood up for him when you knew he didn't need to be discharged. I'm glad you were able to extend your trip too so you still had time to enjoy yourselves and relax at HHI after that scare!

I have to say, DH and I would probably be thrilled to draw Agent P at one of the animation classes! :lmao: I'd probably rather draw a classic character, if given the choice, but I wouldn't be disappointed with Agent P :thumbsup2

Cynthia, it looks like you certainly know how to kick off a last morning in WDW! MK is exactly where I would be headed too. :thumbsup2 Fun that you got to meet up with some friends for BTMRR. :goodvibes

What a scary experience, Mary Ellen. Your DH was so lucky you were so persistant. And that he recovered from it all so quickly.

No wonder you "had to" add a few days. You both needed a little "vacation" from your vacation visit to the hospital.

I love days when I am running reports...plenty of time to catch up on some DIS while I wait for them to finish (wouldn't want to mix up projects, right?? LOL)

almost caught up but had to comment before I forget everything.

A Tale of Two Kitties

Sorry about your kitty drama. what a bad run. Good thing Nick was on top of things -- I guess its a good sign when your child is old enough that you are actually allowed to be "mom-focusing-on-me" a little and not "supermom" .

and they are such cute cats! I always wanted to be a dog and cat home, but turns out Joe is allergic to cats, not dogs. and Thor would totally eat a cat. :scared1:

Here - Take a Sip!

Near the IG we saw this scooter and asked if we could take a picture of it. Check it out - it's awesome

LOVE the scooter! so cool.

The finished product - Cashel Blue and Dubliner Kerrygold Irish Cheese Souffle with Organic Mixed Greens and Warm Bacon Vinaigrette

IMG_1364_zpseed8ca7e.jpg

So, so good!

After the seminar it was possible to buy Judith McLaughlin' s book and have her sign it. And that's exactly what Cynthia did.

IMG_1375_zpsccf84ae6.jpg

that dish looks great- and its a good picture of Cynthia getting her book signed!

so funny of that man to insist you take the first sip. Such a Disney thing to do!!!

Love that big collectible stein/mug too. very cool.

Mary Ellen I was giggling to myself as I pictured you just a little buzzed, kicking back, taking random photos of people and umbrellas. :goodvibes

fun photos too.

Another cool view of the lagoon

Oh Yeah!

Photo0925FourBySix.jpg

Couldn't even put that beer down for a picture.

Photo0926FourBySix.jpg

Actually I think the photographer told me to do that

Photo0929FourBySix.jpg

These are great ....Cynthia looks just a little jealous of your drink, (even if it is just for the camera!)

Yep. I bought the book. And being the master manipulator that I am, convinced myself (and Jeff) that I bought it for him. He LOVES shepherds pie. Adores it. I knew he would be thrilled with "his" present.
Please, she had me at the name of the book. "The Shamrock and Peach"

:thumbsup2 love how you get the win win of being able to shop for something you'll love AND get the points for giving Jeff a great gift!

But did enjoy the F&W version of the train very much

so cute the way they incorporated food & wine into it!

A small postscript to the last update

First up, the Jamminators, chef style. Click on the picture for some bad jokes.

those look yummy. I usually make it in a big casserole but the individual portions are a great idea.

I am very fond of the hat and really don't want it to go

PA217309.jpg

is the going? I love the hat!

Love these

this reminds me of a deli in NYC -- walls all decorated with caricatures of famous people. cool!

I love visiting the villain store. they always have fun tee's and things in there!

You were really getting a lot of shopping done this trip. Nice to be able to browse and photograph at will without feeling like you're holding up the gang.

Sorry I haven't updated our update notice. I have to go to the live oak lodge to get on the Internet. My new freaking computer is so smart it won't let me sign on to something w a password. So annoying. Anyway we went to Savannah today and we are now in Tybee Island waiting out the rain. Extended our stay at the Disney resort and now were driving home Sunday. It's been an interesting vacation and not one that I wish to repeat anytime soon although I love HHI as much as ever and their hospital is pretty nice too. And I will leave you with that...,,
ummmm I hope you were at a hospital for an interview and not for medical care!

OOH I finished up. an interview would have been less stressful. Thanks goodness that you are such a good advocate for Denny and knew enough to speak up to the ED. What could have been a scary scary outcome was avoided. :worship:WHEW Glad he is feeling better!

Cynthia apparently I did not multi quote (or erased the photos) the post with your solo photo pass pictures. they came out nice and your dress is so cute!

ok back to work (with a little reading in between) for me!

Finally caught up. Cynthia you accomplished a LOT for your last morning.

I'm curious about the beads at Kidani. We'll be checking in there in 9 days (WAHOOO) and that sounds like something that both girls will be thrilled with. do you know any more?

I like the Pirate Periodic table. funny and nerdy at the same time. :rotfl2:

MEK - when I saw the first photo of your drawing I though "OH cool she has Agent P" I laughed when I saw how unhappy you were. Proof that your kids are big! We love Agent P in my house LOL

I did forget one specific thing I wanted to comment on.

MEK, what a scary situation with Denny and I am glad you persisted in having him checked out further. I went through that with Mark and it is not fun.

I will pray for continued improvement for Denny.

Wow Mary Ellen, how scary the events with Denny at HHI! :scared1: I am so glad this issue was right in your area of expertise and you were able to push it to resolution! :thumbsup2 I'm guessing those less informed would have probably taken the original clean check-off and left happy, with possibly tragic results later! So glad they were able to handle the situation and you could still enjoy some of your trip!!! :goodvibes

Nice updates and some great pictures! Even though during the day I don't think DHS is all that much to look at aesthetically, I think it is a whole lot better when it is lit up at night and just seems to come alive!

I really like that picture of the Brown Derby Hat lamp! :woohoo:

I always enjoy exploring One Man's Dream, and no matter how many times I go in there I always seem to learn something new! ::yes::

Agent P? Seriously??? :confused3

WOW! That did not make a good trip. Glad he did go and have himself checked out.
I agree about HS being lit up at night. Love photographing there.
I would have been upset with Agent P as my drawing.
All caught up again. I am getting good at this. LOL

Oh my gracious Mary Elllen! I know that you had to be scared death. Thank goodness you stood your ground and made them admit Denny. I think that's pretty rude of them to make a notation that you were anxious. Of course you were anxious. Your husband was having chest pains.

Once when John had a grand mal seizure and his trough levels were way down, the ER doctor tried to discharge him saying that his levels were in the average range. I tried to tell them what his level needed to be and they wouldn't listen to me. I finally told them that we would sit in the middle of the ER waiting room in a wheelchair and let everybody know what they had done unless they called his neurologist immediately. Needless to say, they had us in a room in no time at all AND his neurologist was called.

Mary Ellen-- scary with Denny at HHI. Glad you stood your ground and had him admitted and that he was able to get the care he needed. I like your comment-Genes rule--That's a good one to remember.

Cynthia--Love your first picture of MK, all decorated with its fall decorations. The sky is so blue--looks like it was a beautiful, last day!

OMG, so glad your DH ended up ok. I saw what was coming almost immediately and you had me on the edge of my seat about how it would transpire. Everyone, please take note!!!!

Jill in CO

Thanks Jill! I am very grateful that everything turned out as well as it did. I just kept thinking can you imagine if we were on our cruise? :faint:

I am so grateful that it is what it is, and not worse. So scary, so terrifying and yes, easy to ignore and write off. In Denny's defense...I bet he bought himself 15 years with what he has been doing, you can only deny the genes so long and given how well he does take care of himself I imagine it will only continue to help things in the future.

Exactly. I knew it was just a matter of time and not too long ago I remember thinking "It's about time for Denny to start showing signs of CAD". Boy was I right, I just didn't expect it in Hilton Head. That was crazy to go from no symptoms, nothing, to very classic symptoms in the span of 12 hours. Of course, everyone has to go from no symptoms to symptoms at some point.

He is so lucky to have had you with him, to fight for him like that.

Ugh - I shouldn't have had to do that. I thought it was pretty obvious that he needed a stress and initially I was confused because it wasn't a given. It was weird but I knew I had to do the right thing and get him to stay.

Not me :rotfl2: I do think it's Pat. That's pretty funny, aren't there 2 of those crayons in there? I remember her posting about it.

That was a pretty funny post now that I think about it. I mean, I would never even notice something like that. Leave it to Pat!

OMG, you were SO not happy that it was Agent P! I'd totally forgotten about that :rotfl2:

I know. :rotfl: I totally wanted a classic character and I got Agent P. I know the kids love Agent P, but I wanted Dumbo or Eeyore. Is that a lot to ask? :confused3

Yep, Grouper. At least that's what the receipt says :thumbsup2

I always order grouper at HBD. I guess I need to break out and try something new, but its always done so well.

You got some lovely nighttime shots!

Thanks! Likewise. I think we have a lot of the same shots. At least my next update should have some variety since we went our separate ways.

Wow, Mary Ellen - what an adventure! I'm sorry that you and Denny had to have part of your vacation in the hospital, but so glad that it turned out okay. Denny is lucky you are in the cardiac business! Thanks for sharing the story so we can all be aware! I'm happy that you extended your trip to make up for it too!

I am very grateful that everything turned out the way it did and that he didn't end up in the operating too,. That would have been a nightmare in more than one way.

Objectively I knew the right thing was for him to have a stress test. I'm glad I made the right call. And I appreciate Denny for wanting to share his story.

Back to WDW - cool nighttime shots - I like your favorite best too!
Agent P - you did a good job, but surprising that he was the choice. They are really pushing the Phineas and Ferb stuff everywhere now.

That tot shot is pretty cool. I don't even remember taking it, so that makes it even cooler.

The kids in the group really seemed to like that choice but I was just "eh". :rotfl:

Wow, Mary Ellen. I'm so glad that Denny was able to get a stress test and then angio, and is now okay. His symptoms sounded like those of a former boss of mine who passed away suddenly last summer. He never made it to the stress test.

Oh My Glen - that's terrible. With so much awareness of heart disease no one should have to die when they have warning signs. Yeah - there will always be people who develop sudden cardiac arrest, but chest pain should be assumed to be the real deal until proven otherwise.

Getting myself caught up on your TR and just read your story about Denny's ordeal and I just had to comment before I kept going.

Wow! So glad he is OK and he only needed angio with a stent! It's definitely good he had you as an advocate for him, almost anyone else would have just gone home like a good patient and "resumed activity" and who knows?...

That's good you were at least able to extend your vacation so you could enjoy some of it.

Slowly catching up so I can enjoy the photos. Your Animal Kingdom morning looks great. how nice to just go in, do what you want and head out.

That's exactly what we did and it was great. There really wasn't much I wanted to do, but I knew I had to see AK at least once on this trip.

MEK GREAT EE photos! I felt a little dizzy on the backwards part :rotfl2: how can you snap all those photos on a coaster?

That type of coaster doesn't bother me, but I can't do that on ToT because I am much more uncomfortable on dropping rides. But I've taken pics on EE before, so practice I guess. :rotfl:

Your photo pass picture by EE came out very nice despite sunglare.

Thanks!

be back soon!!

No you won't - you gearing up for a Florida trip, aren't you? Lucky girl!

:rotfl2: Not so much an aversion but a detail over looked. There are 2 yellow- green crayons in the queue one in the stand by and one in the FP line and they are NOT the same color. I guess it just bothers me. :lmao:

I just think its remarkable you noticed that. I am so NOT observant and would never have discovered the difference.

I guessed it right then. Rest room stop and even though unlikely, you had to be driving for it to happen, and home by around 11. :cool1:

Yeah - time for a potty break and a driver change. I was supposed to make it through all of NC but discovered after we pulled out of the parking lot that I only had enough gas for about another 100 miles. oops!

As someone who has had 2 very good friends survive the widow maker ( one with 5 stents) and both as well as myself are CPR instructor trainers, it is easy to dismiss some signs.

When you evaluate the signs objectively they are easy to see. When you put the emotional component to it, not so much.

Thankfully you knew and Denny knew not to. That is certatinly a different way to spend the vacation but so glad everything worked out as well as it did.
So glad they were receptive to a cardiac nurse.... I also hope the ED doc realizes she needs to dig a bit more. :rolleyes2

I hope the hospital realizes that they probably need a better cardiac short stay policy in place. Some hospitals have that were they will automatically stress test the patient before letting them leave. It's not a full hospital admission.

Yeah - I hope she was notified of his outcome. It's really important to consider family history. She just looked at him and thought "he looks in good shape" and his EKG and enzymes are negative. She still got a cardiology input, but she needed to emphasize the family history more.

Very Nice Pictures of DHS all lit up.

I think we both got some great shots of the park at night. Glad we did that.

Your dinner looks amazing.

I could go for that fish right now - oh - and that wine. ;)

Agent P really?

Apparently Agent P has quite a few fans and the kids love him. I guess I am just an "old fart" who only appreciates the classics.

Nice to cap off a great evening with a late night TSM.

It really was, even though I was practically asleep when we weren't shooting.

Glad Denny is OK. How scary for you guys !! Good thing you insisted on admitting him.

Yep. Those genes will get you every time .....

Family history is such an important risk factor. You can do everything right but you can't change your genes. Thanks so much for your good thoughts!

Post some HHI photos when you get some time.

I actually edited a bunch on the way home. It made the drive go much faster. Unfortunately, I didn't take nearly as many around the resort as I had hoped because that's when Denny was in the hospital. Once he was released we ventured out a bit, so I tried to catch up. I'll see if I can get them on photobucket before my next update.

Oh my! Nearly complete occlusion! How extremely lucky for Denny that you knew to insist on the stress test which resulted in the cath which resulted in the PTCA. Thank goodness for your intuition! Glad to hear that it turned out well. ::yes::

It's unfortunate that I had to come off as "anxious" or "pushy" to do the right thing. But it had to be done. I knew darn well we would be right back in that ED as soon as he climbed the stairs again. Ugh!

Thank you - I am glad it turned out well, too. It really could have been worse. :worship:

Back to your TR.. great job for your Agent P drawing.. totally looks like him. As for the kids with the balloon hats.. hmmmm... yeah, that would be pretty annoying.

Sounds like you opted for the "green experience" post dinner while Cynthia was up for the "orange, more intense experience" after HBD. :lmao:

:rotfl: I think that's exactly what happened! Well said! :rotfl2:

Oh my goodness!!! That is such a scary ordeal to go through!!! And... I personally do appreciate your story...even if I don't really want to hear it.

See... I grew up with my father having one or more heart attacks a year. He was one of 13 kids... all of whom had issues with their hearts in some way. My dad... he died at age 45.

So you lived through what Denny did. He was 16 when his dad died and he still gets very emotional about it. That's really tough. All of Denny's uncles had heart disease too.

At 30 I was diagnosed with PVC and PACs... nothing major, but experiencing arrhythmia's can be troubling none the less...and I stood up to take note. As you probably realize... I do run. I keep myself at a somewhat normal weight... and I like to think I am keeping myself away from that dangerous set of genes that I am all but certain I have. Now you go an make me think... maybe not? But... I am female. That makes a difference, right. ;)

I definitely think modifying your other risk factors like weight and cholesterol and high BP and all that stuff helps. It definitely helped Denny, but it just couldn't take away the risk all together.

With woman your risk of cardiac disease is much lower than mens until menopause. After your lose the cardioprotective effects of you female hormones then womens risk will start to catch up to men. So - when you hit your mid to late-50's it would be prudent to have a stress test and just a general awareness of your risk.

So will Denny be able to resume normal activities then? Will this be a problem long term for him? It is so good that he had you there with him.

I am so glad things worked out and you were able to enjoy a couple days after all this stress.

:goodvibes

Thank you for the positive thoughts. I am glad it worked out as well as it did. Yes - he should be able to do everything he always did. I think he will feel more relaxed after he sees the cardiologist here next week. He is still just in shock and is worried that the stress of his job was a contributor.

Cynthia, I am very impressed with your last morning. In one hour you were sure able to get around MK!

I'm pretty impressed too since I have no clue what I did. Hopefully I''ll figure it out when I see my pics.

Mary Ellen, I love your Agent P. We love Agent P here... so ::yes:: Yes. yes, he is a real character. ;)

My thought is you have to have kids to appreciate Agent P and since I never watch cartoons I have no clue who he is.

Mary Ellen - how awful for you guys. So pleased to hear he is doing okay. Thank goodness you kept pushing.

Take care pixiedust:

Thanks for the good thoughts. I am glad I insisted he stay. We just would have been back and this time it may have been more serious, not to mention a big waste of time to leave and have to return.

So glad everything turned out okay. You definitely deserved some 'make up' vacation days after that! :thumbsup2

Thanks and I think so too. It would have been such a drag to leave the day after he was discharged. We were supposed to head to Charleston for the night. I'm glad we stayed the extra two nights. 5 nights is not enough in HHI anyway.

Yes, that ToT picture is awesome! Hollywood Studios is a cool night park with all the neon lights.

Those ToT pics are pretty cool. So funny that we were both taking the same shots and I'm pleased with all the pretty night shots in HS.

Pretty pictures looking across the lake from Boardwalk to Beach & Yacht Club, too.

Thanks for both of us! :)

Health issues are stressful anytime but when they happen on vacation it is unnerving. I am so glad Denny is ok!

Thanks Dawn. I know you know all about health issues on vacation. Your last trip seemed to be plagued with them. I guess you just have to roll with it. Thanks for the good thoughts.

Love your Agent P even if he isn't a "classic" character :)

Not classic AT ALL! :rotfl: You should have seen those kids in front of me. Now their pictures really looked like him. Not entirely sure about mine.

Wow, Mary Ellen- so sorry to hear about Denny. I can't imagine how stressful and scary it was for both of you to go through, especially being far from the comforts of home. Good for you (and thank God) you advocated for him and insisted that he have the stress test. Sending positive vibes for continued recovery!!!

The surgeon I work with always says "Do the right thing" and I knew that meant insisting he stay. It was really the scariest when I thought he was going to need cardiac surgery. That had me a bit unglued. Fortunately it didn't go that route and he is now doing fine. He's just a little bummed about the whole thing.

Thanks for sharing the story with us. I don't think you can reinforce enough that it is better to be overly cautious than to dismiss symptoms like that, especially if you have a nagging feeling things aren't quite right.

Denny was really supportive of sharing the story. He's not one for social media so I didn't want to write about him without asking for permission. But he thought it might help someone else.

*****************************************************

Back to Disney- what an amazing last day you both had!!!

Well, actually, that was Cynthia's last day. I still had one more entire last day to myself. muhahaha!

Cynthia- the pictures in France are really, really beautiful. I always stop for solo photopass shots when I am alone- same reasons- the number of pictures of me on vacation, with or without family, are very slim. Plus the rest of the family always roll their eyes when I insist on photos, so this is another way to get my money's worth.

I know all about the eye rolling. Cynthia takes a great picture, too so she should at every opportunity.

Gorgeous pictures, both from your walk to BW :-)love: the one of the Yacht Club through the trees) and to HS. Both sets of pictures of ToT at sunset are breathtaking. Love them!

Thanks. that was actually a pretty cool time to be taking pictures. It worked out really well.

Hmmm- the last two reviews I have read of meals at HBD have not been encouraging- mostly issues with servers (I am referring to emmysmommy's review). The food looked really good, though! Mmmmm- the grouper sounds incredible!

HBD always does a nice grouper and that is one of my favorite fishes. I just love how white it is and the consistency.

I still think its hysterical I barely noticed the waiter. I clearly was in my own little "zone"

Great night shots at the Studios. What a gorgeous place at night.

It really is. I am please we both of our pictures.

Cynthia- you had a fantastic morning at MK. I love how much you were able to accomplish in that first hour or so, before the swarms of people show up. I absolutely adore the picture on BTM with the castle and steamboat in the picture.

That's an awesome shot. Glad she got back over there. I ended up going back much later that evening (spoiler alert)

Nice meet-up!

That is such a cute picture of Cynthia and Jenny! :thumbsup2

Ok, got a little bit behind...

I know the feeling only all too well! :upsidedow

Great evening at DHS, for both of you. Even if you both handled it differently. I can't argue with the logic on either touring plan, but I'd tend to lean a little more towards one that includes Rock n Rollercoaster.

Looking back that might have been the correct one. Well, actually I wanted to go to the drawing class last June and never made it, so I guess I was making up for lost time.

And I think if I got to choose a character to draw, Agent P would be near the top of the list... :lmao:

See - you have kids. Clearly I need grandchildren or something so I can get into the Agent P loop a little better. I must be missing out.

Cynthia - The MK morning looks fantastic. 2 mountains, a Dis meet and Pirates all in about an hour. Nice job! :thumbsup2

I was probably still in the shower. I tell you - sometimes you get the most done when you are alone. Kudos to Cynthia for getting all that accomplished plus another DIS meet.

I'm sorry to hear that HHI wasn't as much fun as it could have been, but I'm glad that you recognized Denny's problem and were able to get him taken care of before it became something worse.

Thanks! I am glad it turned out the way it did. It could have been so much worse and we did finish the vacation on a high note, so I'm really happy about that.

Great update Cynthia :) you got a lot done that morning! Can't wait to see what tshirts you ended up buying.

I am curious too because I actually have no clue what she ended up with. :confused3

Mary Ellen, what a scary situation you guys went through. I'm so glad he's alright now. Sorry about that ED doctor.

Thanks Pam! That ED doc was just following the protocol they use there which usually involves outpatient stress testing. Only that wasn't really going to work for someone who has to drive 11 hours for a stress test. I am just thankful it all turned out like it did.

Mary Ellen, thank you for sharing Denny's story. I'm so glad it has a happy ending! It's a reminder that we/family are our best health care advocates and to listen to our intuition. I'm glad you were able to extend your vacation and I hope Denny is feeling back to himself.

Thank you so much! It did have a happy ending. Although I know Denny is still bummed about the whole thing because he really thought he would escape heart disease. And you're right - people really do need to advocate for their family members. It's so important.

MEK - so glad Denny is better now. I know first hand the feeling of having a loved one admitted to a hospital out of town. It's bad enough being in the hospital but the added stress of unfamiliar surroundings and unknown healthcare providers makes it even worse. At least you were familiar enough with what was needed to get him the care he required. That is not always the case and the results are rarely optimal. Again, glad he is better and has a great prognosis! :thumbsup2

Thanks Bill! Being out of town is tough for stuff like that. Thank goodness I did know what all the possible scenarios where. And, honestly, once he was admitted their care was very good and thorough so I have no complaints. There were a few things they did which really promoted patient satisfaction, so that was nice. I'm glad its behind us now and hopefully that stent will stay open for a long time.

Wow Mary Ellen, I'm so glad to hear that Denny is doing okay! That must have been scary but I'm glad you got it all figured out.

It definitely had its scary moments. thanks for all the positive thoughts. The worse was thinking he might need surgery. In the end it all worked out well. :goodvibes

DHS is best at night! It's so pretty. Love your pictures!

The lights are night are so fantastic. I think we both got some great night time shots! :thumbsup2

Ok, got a little bit behind...

Cynthia - The MK morning looks fantastic. 2 mountains, a Dis meet and Pirates all in about an hour. Nice job! :thumbsup2

The E's would have been happy with Agent P I think. I do wish I'd gone again on RRC, felt a little robbed by the closed single rider line but once is better than none that's for darn sure! It was a very productive hour at the MK, perfect way to start the day.

Great update Cynthia :) you got a lot done that morning! Can't wait to see what tshirts you ended up buying.

It was a productive morning that's for sure! Fun too :)

Cynthia - Way to make Rope Drop! :yay: You had a pretty successful morning in the amount of time you were there. Great job!

Amazing what you can get done when you are solo!

To Cynthia's post:
Ahhhh no, D Day already? :( Nice to have a late flight at least. MUCH better than my 8:00am filght and corresponding 4am ME pickup! :lmao:
You got so much done in a short (early) space of time. :thumbsup2 and a Dismeet to boot!
Love the pirates t-shirts!

I thought those pirate tees were fun, though as much as the E's like Jack...they aren't necessarily into pirate gear.

A late flight is MUCH better, we had a 6am flight once. NEVER again.

One day we will find a way to make the real world feel more like Disney World.

Oh wouldn't that be lovely?

::yes:: Walking on Space Mountain is an excellent way to start a last day.

I thought so :thumbsup2

I took a picture of this one too, just because it cracked me up!:rotfl2:

Me too

Phew....I am finally caught up. There is no way I can comment on everything...I'd be here for a couple of hours. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'll just say what fun updates and what beautiful pictures, as always. Now, I should be able to keep up until our trip in June (heaven help me after that trip and the wedding!).

We are just happy to have you here Kathy!

Cynthia, it looks like you certainly know how to kick off a last morning in WDW! MK is exactly where I would be headed too. :thumbsup2 Fun that you got to meet up with some friends for BTMRR. :goodvibes

It was a perfect last morning, and I haven't left the Mk quite yet...!

Cynthia--Love your first picture of MK, all decorated with its fall decorations. The sky is so blue--looks like it was a beautiful, last day!

It was a GORGEOUS morning!

I really do believe though he bought himself at least a decade by taking such good care of himself. Were they able to resolve with one stent or did he end up with more?

Ugh - I shouldn't have had to do that. I thought it was pretty obvious that he needed a stress and initially I was confused because it wasn't a given. It was weird but I knew I had to do the right thing and get him to stay.

You would think but I swear (and you know we are going through this every 6 months or so know) some things that seem obvious to us the family, just for whatever reason aren't obvious to some of the healthcare givers we encounter. I mean why did we the family have to deduce that this is now a maintenance issue we will be facing every 6 months, instead of being told that it's likely the path he's on? Would have saved us a lot of stress if we knew it was actually likely his new "normal".

That was a pretty funny post now that I think about it. I mean, I would never even notice something like that. Leave it to Pat!

And apparently not only are there 2 with the same color name, but the colors aren't the same. That was the part that bugs her :rotfl2:

I know. :rotfl: I totally wanted a classic character and I got Agent P. I know the kids love Agent P, but I wanted Dumbo or Eeyore. Is that a lot to ask? :confused3

I don't think so. Perry is kinda cute but I'm not vested in that show at all, I'd LOVE to get Dumbo at one of those.

I always order grouper at HBD. I guess I need to break out and try something new, but its always done so well.

If it aint broke.....

Thanks! Likewise. I think we have a lot of the same shots. At least my next update should have some variety since we went our separate ways.

mine too!

Mary Ellen I was giggling to myself as I pictured you just a little buzzed, kicking back, taking random photos of people and umbrellas. :goodvibes
Me too now that I think about it.

These are great ....Cynthia looks just a little jealous of your drink, (even if it is just for the camera!)

LOL! Definitely not. Besides the fact that I've given up beer 99% of of the time (I think I've had 4 in the past year), that was not at all the kind I like. But I sure did get a kick out of the photoshoot.

love how you get the win win of being able to shop for something you'll love AND get the points for giving Jeff a great gift!

those look yummy. I usually make it in a big casserole but the individual portions are a great idea.

Double prizes! I've never tried to make it in the big casserole, isn't that funny?

is the going? I love the hat!

Just a rumor

this reminds me of a deli in NYC -- walls all decorated with caricatures of famous people. cool!

There is one in Chicago as well, same artist.

I love visiting the villain store. they always have fun tee's and things in there!

You were really getting a lot of shopping done this trip. Nice to be able to browse and photograph at will without feeling like you're holding up the gang.

By a LANDSLIDE it is was the most I've ever shopped at WDW. But for once I felt like I really got to see what was out there. And yes, not feel rushed or get a lot of mom look at this, I want this, can I get this....

Cynthia apparently I did not multi quote (or erased the photos) the post with your solo photo pass pictures. they came out nice and your dress is so cute!

Thanks!

Finally caught up. Cynthia you accomplished a LOT for your last morning.

I'm curious about the beads at Kidani. We'll be checking in there in 9 days (WAHOOO) and that sounds like something that both girls will be thrilled with. do you know any more?

It was a great morning and we are only 1 hour into it so far! No clue on the beads but maybe Jenny will weigh in? We did hit both pools, the Mara twice and night goggles...that's about all we had time for as we were only there 2 nights and one was a VERY full park day and the next one Departure Day. I will get to the other pool and night goggles soon but maybe not before your trip?

I like the Pirate Periodic table. funny and nerdy at the same time. :rotfl2:

I might have to get that for Jeff at some point, it cracks me up.

I just think its remarkable you noticed that. I am so NOT observant and would never have discovered the difference.

And apparently not only are there 2 with the same color name, but the colors aren't the same. That was the part that bugs her :rotfl2:

Do these LOOK the same!!!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yes it does drive me nuts. :rotfl2: AS for spotting it - lets just say I started looking at crayons. It took me a while since One is the stand by line and one is on the FP line.

And the second one is NOT yellow green - it is green blue... :rolleyes2 or blue green....

Mary Ellen, how scary for you guys. Luckily, you were there to notice these symptoms and act on them quickly. Unfortunately for DH, his dad doesn't know his real dad and it's difficult to find out any info on the guy. We have no idea his family history and DH's dad is pretty much playing with fire. But i'm glad it all turned out okay in the end :goodvibes

Thanks! We definitely had some scary moments, but I'm so thankful that everything turned out.

That is a little worrisome for your DH. I guess all he can do is be healthy and get regular screenings, but I do think its helpful to know if you have a family history of heart disease.

I've yet to visit the Art Academy at DHS. I've been several times at Disney's California Adventure and love it. Agent P...interesting! I've only ever drawn classic characters like Donald, Minnie, Pooh, Chip (or Dale:confused3) so Agent P is different!

Different - Exactly! :rotfl: I guess I'm biased but I prefer the classic characters!

Cynthia - Way to make Rope Drop! :yay: You had a pretty successful morning in the amount of time you were there. Great job!

I agree. She got so much done. I'm impressed.

Thank goodness Denny is ok! I am sure that was very scary for you since you know ALL of the possibilities. I am glad you got to extend your trip a little and relax!

Yes - I DO know all the possibilities and the possibility of surgery was freaking me out. I am so glad it didn't come to that. I was really happy that they had available units and we were able to extend our stay. :thumbsup2

Good thing Denny had you by his side. Wonderful that all turned out well & now he knows to pay attention to his body. I know from. My scare last summer how it feels when something like that happens. Thank goodness mine was only a gall bladder, especially with my family's heart history.

He was definitely paying attention, but I don't think he was ready to accept this was real chest pain. I think he would have walked out of that ER knowing full well he was going to have pain again.

Ugh - I remember your GB incident. So glad you made a full recovery from that because, as I recall, you were pretty sick.

Hilton Head is one of those places I would like to see some day.

It is such a cool island. It really is so different. I just love it there. Awesome place.

What brand of DSLR do you have? I bought one today from a friend, a Nikon d40, seems like a nice camera.

I have a Cannon rebel. Tsi maybe? Not even sure. The Nikon d40 is a really nice camera. I hope you are enjoying it. :thumbsup2

What a scary situation that must have been!! Thank goodness that Denny is doing well, and that you were there to recognize the symptoms!!

Believe me, there were definitely a few moments were I was close to freaking when I thought he might need heart surgery, but overall I managed to keep fairly calm (for me). He is doing well and I'm glad everything worked out the way it did.

I can't believe Cynthia is up to her D-day. Wow - we got here fast. Well, I guess it wasn't that fast, but I'm sort of sad our trip is almost over. :worried:

To Mary Ellen's post:
Oh my word, how terrifying about Denny! I am so glad you pushed the issue and listened to your gut/knowledge about his family history. I'm glad he's doing well and got you looking out for him. Also glad to hear you got to extend your vacation a little and relax and enjoy!

I knew I had to push it because we would be right back there and we certainly didn't need two ED admission. Not to mention how unsafe it would have been. Extending the vacation worked out well because Denny finally got to do a few things before we went home.

LOVE your ToT sunset pictures! You both got some awesome shots of that. Good timing!

I agree - we really lucked out of the timing. Totally not planned and it worked out great.

Great drawing of Agent P... I don't know who that is. I would have been a little disappointed drawing him as well!

See - I think you have to have little kids to be into Agent P. He's definitely big with the kids I have found through the various responses.

Great night shots!

Thanks!

One day we will find a way to make the real world feel more like Disney World.

Wouldn't that be awesome??? Especially after the week the real world has just had.

::yes:: Walking on Space Mountain is an excellent way to start a last day.

I totally agree. I love space mountain! So awesome!

But they're working on that!

:thumbsup2

Such a cute picture of Cynthia and Jenny! Because if there's no picture it didn't happen, right? :rotfl:

Yes. Yes, it would.

Oops - I did! But perhaps because I went on it multiple times in June (or wait - that was my brother that went on it multiple times in June. :rotfl:)

I took a picture of this one too, just because it cracked me up!:rotfl2:

That's as awesome shirt. Who thinks up these things? So creative!

 I can say without a doubt that my family never, ever would have made it that far.

:rotfl2: Well, we did have one bathroom break (WAWA stop) prior to that. Most of us had coffee which in turn caused the need for another bathroom break!

So do you drive down 301 to Richmond? I totally love that route. Yeah - its got a few lights, but its so much better than taking 95.

Very scary! You can never be too careful.

One thing I have learned over the years is that family history is a very important risk factor.

My goodness. You made the right call, definitely.

I'm so glad you pushed for that.

I had plenty of time to think about what I was going to say. I always try to assume that other health care providers are going to do what I would do. When they don't it sort of throws me. I was shocked that she even thought about sending him home with classic angina.

So thankful he was able to get the treatment he needed. What a scare! You'll need a vacation from this vacation!

You know my friend C who traveled with us said "Would you still have gone on this vacation if it had happened before we left?" and I honestly don't know if I would have. And even though I have the DVC insurance, that would have been a lot of points to lose. The compensation doesn't cover the full value. So, in a way it really did work out for the best. Denny still got some vacation and we stuck around long enough to be able to go back to the hospital if he had a problem.

But, I am looking forward to my next vacation and now there are already some issue with that. ugh!

Let us know if you guys need anything while he's still recovering. We're not far away.

Thank you! That's so nice. He's doing fine. Went right back to work. He's just still a little freaked about the whole thing.

Love these sunset shots!

Thank you from both of us!

It really is a lovely park at night.

Got a needle in your purse? :rolleyes1

I wish! :rotfl2: But if I had one I would have needed to use it!

Don't be hatin' on Agent P! He is full of awesome!

OMG - I think I need to borrow one of your kids because I can see that the DISers without kids just don't understand Agent P. I'll take your word for it that he is awesome. I just wanted to draw a classic character.

Phew....I am finally caught up. There is no way I can comment on everything...I'd be here for a couple of hours. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I know that feeling! Welcome back from Florida. Sounds like you had a great trip!

I'll just say what fun updates and what beautiful pictures, as always. Now, I should be able to keep up until our trip in June (heaven help me after that trip and the wedding!).

Thanks. We did have a lot of fun that day and we were both on the same page as far as pictures.

Yup - you are going to be busy leading up to that wedding, but you just have to accept you will never stay caught up. We all understand that!

Having to say NO to his discharge was probably one of the worst parts of the whole thing. I didn't expect that to happen so it sort of threw me off balance. But extending the vacation really helped and it allowed Denny to enjoy a few things before we had to leave.

I have to say, DH and I would probably be thrilled to draw Agent P at one of the animation classes! :lmao: I'd probably rather draw a classic character, if given the choice, but I wouldn't be disappointed with Agent P :thumbsup2

Because you have a little boy! I need to borrow someone's child to develop an appreciation for Agent P. That is one thing I miss about having little kids. It was fun watching all the cartoon shows they loved so much.

Cynthia, it looks like you certainly know how to kick off a last morning in WDW! MK is exactly where I would be headed too. :thumbsup2 Fun that you got to meet up with some friends for BTMRR. :goodvibes

I totally agree. She rocked that last morning!

What a scary experience, Mary Ellen. Your DH was so lucky you were so persistant. And that he recovered from it all so quickly.

I hated to have to be that persistent. I really think his admission should have been obvious and if they had discharged him I probably would have taken him to a hospital in Savannah. That would have been such a pain. But - yes - he did recover quickly even though mentally he is still freaked out about the whole thing.

No wonder you "had to" add a few days. You both needed a little "vacation" from your vacation visit to the hospital.

5 nights is definitely not enough in HHI. We originally had a 6th night planned in Charleston, but that would have been too much of a hassle. I am glad they had availability because the PGA was coming in the next week and, honestly, the member rate for the villa was not unreasonable when split between two couples.

I love days when I am running reports...plenty of time to catch up on some DIS while I wait for them to finish (wouldn't want to mix up projects, right?? LOL)

almost caught up but had to comment before I forget everything.

OMG - You did a great job of catching up!!!!! Now I hope I'm not going to miss anything. :rotfl:

Sorry about your kitty drama. what a bad run. Good thing Nick was on top of things -- I guess its a good sign when your child is old enough that you are actually allowed to be "mom-focusing-on-me" a little and not "supermom"

Nick did a great job taking care of Max. I know he got tired of it because the cats can be sooooooooo annoying when they want their food. And Nick is not an early riser on the weekend, so that was hard for him to get up and feed them and give Max his insulin. He did a great job.

and they are such cute cats! I always wanted to be a dog and cat home, but turns out Joe is allergic to cats, not dogs. and Thor would totally eat a cat. :scared1:

Well, then your home would NOT be good for a cat. :rotfl2: I know some allergic people can tolerate certain cats, but most can't. And OMG to Thor. He would be having a field day.

LOVE the scooter! so cool.

That scooter was adorable and it was so nice of that guest for allowing us to take a picture.

that dish looks great- and its a good picture of Cynthia getting her book signed!

It was super yummy and Cynthia's picture was really cute.

so funny of that man to insist you take the first sip. Such a Disney thing to do!!!

I think he was a little buzzed himself which was really helping him spread the magic. ::yes::

Love that big collectible stein/mug too. very cool.

It's actually plastic and I know the writing would come right off of it if I washed it, but its fun all the same. In October I will get the rest of them.

Mary Ellen I was giggling to myself as I pictured you just a little buzzed, kicking back, taking random photos of people and umbrellas. :goodvibes

:rotfl2: I was so fascinated by that photoshoot that I HAD to take pictures. Couldn't help it.

fun photos too.

Thanks.

Another cool view of the lagoon

Who can ever tire of taking pictures of the lagoon and the world showcase?

Oh Yeah!

Couldn't even put that beer down for a picture.

Nope. I sure couldn't. :rotfl2:

Photo0926FourBySix.jpg

Actually I think the photographer told me to do that

These are great ....Cynthia looks just a little jealous of your drink, (even if it is just for the camera!)

Cynthia doesn't drink beer anymore so she was probably thinking "What a lush" :rotfl:

love how you get the win win of being able to shop for something you'll love AND get the points for giving Jeff a great gift!
so cute the way they incorporated food & wine into it!

Points are good! haha!

those look yummy. I usually make it in a big casserole but the individual portions are a great idea.

It really does look good. I love those little bowls. So cute.

is the going? I love the hat!

Apparently just a nasty rumor!

this reminds me of a deli in NYC -- walls all decorated with caricatures of famous people. cool!

Have you ever eaten there. It's a really nice theme and the food is good. Try it out if you haven't already.

I love visiting the villain store. they always have fun tee's and things in there!

You were really getting a lot of shopping done this trip. Nice to be able to browse and photograph at will without feeling like you're holding up the gang.

Cynthia really did a great job with the shopping photos.

ummmm I hope you were at a hospital for an interview and not for medical care!

I wish. That would mean I was moving to HHI. :rotfl:

OOH I finished up. an interview would have been less stressful. Thanks goodness that you are such a good advocate for Denny and knew enough to speak up to the ED. What could have been a scary scary outcome was avoided. :worship:WHEW Glad he is feeling better!

Thanks! Yup - the timing for that whole incident was so unexpected, but I'm so glad everything worked out and we were able to stay a few days longer. I love the resort and the island. I highly recommend it.

Cynthia apparently I did not multi quote (or erased the photos) the post with your solo photo pass pictures. they came out nice and your dress is so cute!

That was an adorable picture.

ok back to work (with a little reading in between) for me!

:rotfl2:

Finally caught up. Cynthia you accomplished a LOT for your last morning.

She really did.

I'm curious about the beads at Kidani. We'll be checking in there in 9 days (WAHOOO) and that sounds like something that both girls will be thrilled with. do you know any more?

You must be so excited. You are going to love it. I absolutely love the rooms there. My favorite decor hands-down. I hope you have a wonderful trip.

I like the Pirate Periodic table. funny and nerdy at the same time. :rotfl2:

Exactly.

MEK - when I saw the first photo of your drawing I though "OH cool she has Agent P" I laughed when I saw how unhappy you were. Proof that your kids are big! We love Agent P in my house LOL

Exactly - I guess if I had young kids or grandkids I would share the love for Agent P, but clearly I am in the dark. I wanted to draw Eeyore. A girl can dream, right?
