I know from reviews I've seen on here most aren't big fans of the All Stars but it's what seemed best for us budget wise for the trip. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice for us with the resort. Can we use all pool areas there? Can we go see the other All Star ones? (I think I saw they are connected). Sorry for all the newbie questions. I just want to make sure I have good info before our first trip! Thanks!

All Stars are huge, not really connected. Not really much reason to go from one to the other.
You can use the pools at you resort only, but at the All Stars they don't check.
We did stay at All Star Movies in 2006. Not bad.
We are.also spending 1 night at Sports in August before.going to the Beach Club for a week.

Anyone can take the bus to see any hotel which is something we usually always do to check out new things at the hotel. Like this past year we went to check out the new art of animation. At other hotels you just can't swim in their pools. I personally love the all the value resorts especially the all stars. Yes you can use all the pools at that all star just not any other pools at the other ones correct me if I'm wrong because that was the way it was last time we stayed there but that was 7 years ago. Yes all the all stars are very closely connected as well and we love going around to them to take pictures with all the scenery so that may be something you want to do also. Main thing is have fun and enjoy the all stars because they are so beautifully themed that is what is great about disney resorts.

Our first couple trips were spent at an All Star resort and we like them. As our family has gotten older, we just happen to like having the amenities that the moderates give us because we like a couple days to just hang at the resort and relax. The All Star resorts are considered "sister" resorts by Disney so yes, you can use any of the pools. All 3 of them are very compact and close together which is a plus. In fact a couple times when waiting for a bus back to Sports, if the bus for Music or Movies came first we would hop on it and then just walk over to sports. IMHO, the All Stars don't get the love of say Pop or AoA just because they have been around longer.

As a Guest at All-Star Sports, you are eligible to use the Pools at Music and Movies so you have access to SIX Pools if you desire.:)

The 3 All-Star Resorts are "sister resorts".:)

It is a 5-10 minute walk(depending on your location) to Music and 10-15 minute walk to Movies.:)

Each Resort has a gift shop, arcade and Food Court so there are 3 of each you can use.:)

Thank you for the info. Wed have reason to see the others because its our first time and I know my young boys would love to see the big buzz and woody and other hotel decorations that the other ones have.

That was one of our favorite things to do. The giant Disney icons are so cool. We have some of our favorite family pics in front of them! It's a very easy walk to check them all out.

Thank you so much! :) so it's not walkable to other ones? Wed take a bus? I know my little boys will love to see all the outdoor decorations and big characters at all the different all stars. It's their first time so I know it will make their day. :) we are very excited!

Oh, it's definitely walkable. I think rteetz meant that you can take a bus, or boat/monorail, to ANY resort on WDW property to check it out. You're not stuck with only checking out Music and Movies.:thumbsup2

Did not realize you could use the other All Star pools. My bad. The figures are cool. But the resorts are quite large
Lots of walking...lol, but free and fun

Great!! I thought it seemed like we could just stroll between the different ones. I was confused because they did seen connected so wasn't sure if it was like really one big resort just separated into sections. Which is why I was checking in the pool situation since I know pool hopping isn't allowed :) thanks!!

This is good info. Our kids loved the All Star Movies resort a few years ago.

Lol it's ok! :) we are a pretty active family and don't mind the long walks :)

Stayed at All Stars Music a couple of times before marriage/before kids and enjoyed it. Later we were spoiled by honeymoon/anniversary trips at the Grand Floridian, Old Key West and the Beach Club. After that, we typically stayed in an on-site villa through a timeshare exchange or directly with DVC (sister became an owner). Took our boys to AS Movies to walk around and take photos a few years back when they were younger and they wondered why we never stayed there! Now we are a family of 5 so we would have to get 2 regular rooms or a suite at a value resort. My younger two kids have seen photos of AoA and are begging to stay there. I'm considering an early summer trip w/out hubby just so the kids and I can stay in a Little Mermaid room at AoA. The suites or two rooms there would just be too pricey!

The easiest "route" from Sports is to walk through Home Run Hotel, then across the parking lot between Sports and Music.

From Music, walk along the walkway that runs along the outside of the main building(where the Food Court is)-you will then cross a road and enter the Mighty Ducks section of Movies.:)

We looked into AoA but my boys werent thrilled with little mermaid and the suites just seemed too expensive for our trip and it's only 4 of us so don't need the space

Awesome!!!!! Thanks!! I'm copying this into the notes section on my phone :)

We stayed at ASM when my son was 3 and he loved the big Buzz and Woody .. Personally we stay at value bc we are only in the room to shower and sleep. We leave early for the parks and get back late, pointless to spend more money just for a bigger room . Enjoy you first trip !!!
