December 2013 Pin Code Watch

Hi there! Does anyone know what type of % off purchase price Disney gives for AKL when the discount is offered? Is it 30% off? Lower? Higher? Thank you :santa:

So I am new on here and a little clueless. What is a pin code? Is it the same as a discount? I usually get e-mails for different discounts such as save 30%, if you book travel dates x to y. They haven't released any discounts yet for December so that is what we are waiting for correct? Sorry if this is stupid but it is my first trip to WDW that I have had to plan!

Also, anyone on here flying out of Cleveland, Youngstown, Akron or Pittsburgh? We would like a nonstop flight but it seems that Cleveland and Youngstown are the only ones that have nonstop. Cleveland is about $420/person roundtrip and Youngstown is cheaper but they are only showing flights through October and they only fly to Orlando a couple days a week. Anyone have any advice on when I should purchase flights for the best possible deal?

Thanks in advance!

We are in Pgh and Southwest and Airtran have nonstop.

Wow--availability for the first week in December looks pretty thin already. That does not make me optimistic about good discounts or crowd levels!

Hello! I was just curious, how do you know that availability for the 1st week in December doesn't look good? Did a WDW customer service representative tell you this? Or did you try to book a room for that 1st week and had trouble booking it?
:)
Thanks

I looked at flights on Jet Blue, they were reasonably priced but we would have to fly from San Jose CA to NYC to MCO, which makes no sense at all! However, it did use the same Disney math, it would be so much less expensive to add a day... :rotfl2:

LOL JetBlue has us going from Dulles (Washington DC) to Boston, then to MCO, but if we went out of Reagan it would be a straight through flight.

We booked today, Nov. 28th until Dec. 7th, staying at POR!

I booked a couple of months ago because my first choice (CR garden wing std view) was sold out already. Our friends who are traveling the same week (first week in Dec) made their reservations a few days ago thru a AAA travel agent after first talking to a Disney customer service rep. They weren't finding any availability at the GF or CR (not sure exactly what room categories they were looking for--theme park view, I think) and ended up booking Poly. Then I was playing around on the Disney website today and came up with nothing available at CSR except a junior suite and only suites at AoA, even if I changed the dates around a bit (we plan to arrive 11/30, which is the Sat after Thanksgiving, so I tried Sun and Mon as arrival dates and got nothing).

We traveled the same week in 2011. I don't think I made my reservations until May that year and I don't remember anything being unavailable at that time (with the exception of a 1 bdrm at BLT on points, which was hardly surprising). This seems very different from that last experience.

The BC is full the first week of December, too. It looks like a busy week already, unfortunately.

Just play around with the system checking different resort availabilities for the week and you can see what's booked up already.

What is the week in December that people say to avoid because of a competition or something? Also do you avoid it cause of the cost or because it's busy?

Thanks

I think that people might be referring to Pop Warner Week. It will be held from Dec 7 - 14th this year, I believe. That event tends to fill up the value resorts, usually All Star Sports and some people want to avoid the crowds at their resorts. They also stay at a moderate resort, too, often CBR.

We are booked for Nov. 30-Dec 7 at POR. I was hoping this would be a slower week and hoping for a discount.

going Dec13-20... it will be out first trip in 2 1/2 years (as you can see by my signature this is the longest we have ever gone between trips "and it's killing us":( ) it will be the first trip for my grandson an he will be 2 years and 4 months when we go...

just guessing here but first weekend in Dec is Christmas Parade taping, and in the past it is also the same time for pop warner cheerleaders have their Cheer & Dance Championships at WDW although this year they are the 7th - 14th
