I LOVED visiting the different resorts as much as going to the parks.
What are your must do's at the various resorts?

Whether staying there or just visiting.

Polynesian - i like to watch the torch lighting ceremony, get teriyaki steak at kona cafe, lay on the beach chair on the beach and watch the fireworks while eating a dole whip, laying in a hammock.

Wilderness lodge - sit in front of the main fireplace and read, sit on the main porch overlooking baylake with a drink

Animal kingdom lodge- boma and then checking out the savannah

We love to visit resorts too. We usually stroll or sit in the lounges and take in the atmosphere before or after dinner... GF, WL, PR and CR are all favorites.

I'm a huge fan of resort hopping as well! My sister and I always visit the Poly since that's where we stayed as kids. We usually grab a drink and take the boat to or from MK. I also love AKL to walk around and see the animals. Those are the must dos but we've made full days of resort hopping!

YeeHaw Bob at Port Orleans Riverside
Stroll along the river or boat to downtown at Port Orleans French Quarter or Riverside
Fireworks on the beach at Poly

Please tell me more about the Poly's torch lighting ceremony. When? Where at the Poly? etc! Sounds like it's neat! :yay:

When i was there in december, at 6:10pm in the main lobby a lady with lays comes and hands them to everyone and walks everyone out to the valet station in front of the hotel. They block off the entrance for about 5-10 min. A firedancer comes out and does this amazing fire twirls and dance then lights the torches out in front. It was a wonderful expirience.

We love touring the resorts too! To us it is a big part of the fun. Although I'm sure a lot of people would think we're nuts, we often enjoy visiting resorts as much as visiting parks.

We absolutely love walking around Fort Wilderness. It is just so quiet and laid back, and there are pony rides and the Disney barns to walk around. We also like the walk through the woods between FW and WL. Any boat ride on Bay Lake is fun too.

At WL the lobby is awesome and we just love being at that resort. Renting bikes is neat from here to ride between WL and FW.

AKL has the animals, a really big gift shop, another great lobby, and of course Zebra Domes for dessert!

CR is fun to visit and hop on the monorail or overlook the lake.

Port Orleans is nice to walk around and the boats to/from DTD are fun as long as the wait isn't too long.

POP is even fun to visit (we even really enjoyed the food court there) and walked across the bridge over to see AOA.

Next trip we're looking forward to enjoying more of the Epcot resorts as well.

CSR - Lay in the Hammocks by the lakes, preferably with a bottle of wine or two.

Take late night walks around the lakes, with the light reflecting off them ...

Take pictures in front of the aztec temple by the pool

Play beach volleyball and get drinks from the bar

Take pictures of all the tropical flowers (thats true at Poly as well !)

I like to drive over to the Poly and look around and then hop on the monorail and jump off and visit the Contemporary and the same with the grandfloridian, it's fun to check out all the different gift shops and I enjoy riding the monorail and switching monorails and taking the one that give you a view of Epcot as well. We will be doing this on our up coming trip as well as going to Animal Kingdom Lodge to see the animals and eat there too. I am also planning on going to downtown Disney and taking a boat ride over to port orleans just for fun to check it out, this will be new for us.princess:

I love the Poly. I just we could afford to stay there. I am hoping when we do an adults only trip, this is the place for us!
I will definitely be visiting the Poly just to admire it, so might have to plan it around the torch lighting ceremony

Sitting outside on the Boardwalk at BWI, getting a Pizza at BW Pizza and having lunch or dinner while people watching and enjoying the beautiful water view is a favorite of ours.

Very excited to be staying at the Poly this Fall for the first time and seeing the Torch Lighting Ceremony :yay:
