Our First Trip as Parents! December 2012 TR - 8/6 OMG a TR link!

I had to re-read this part. After the afternoon at EPCOT, this wasn't the type of "shots" I was expecting. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2:
Also, didn't realize how many grammatical errors I made in this update. But thanks to you quoting them, I went back and changed them. Apparently, I didn't pass 4th grade English :lmao:

And nobody passed out face down on the table. :thumbsup2

That would have made for quite the update though!

Good rule. Can I steal it? :thumbsup2

Isn't this a universal rule?!:confused3

:rolleyes1

I'm glad that you finally got to go to Yachtsman, and more importantly, I'm glad you all enjoyed your meals.

I'm happy we were too. Definitely made our list of top Signatures at WDW. :thumbsup2

Looked like a fantastic dinner at the Yachtsman! We loved it when we ate there during our honeymoon, I definitely need to go back :goodvibes

That spinach had 1000 calories? That can't be right, there's no calories in Disney World ;)

:lmao: You're so right. Forgot about that, thanks for reminding me :thumbsup2

Looks like a yummy meal at Yachtsman. :thumbsup2

I am so going to order that creamed spinach in August. :cloud9:

Love the photos of your little man! He is just soooooo cute! :goodvibes

x2 for Costco! :)

Where are you located at wiigirl? Please say in the Central Valley of good ol' Cali :rotfl2:

Hi Karin :goodvibes

The funny thing is, i've never tried creamed spinach before. I've always thought it was just mushy, soggy spinach. But oh no. It's creamy, cheesy goodness with a hint of spinach :lmao::hyper:

Yachtsman looked really good. We'll have to try it someday. That wine in Italy sounds good too. Glad that the little guy was able to sleep through all the noise of Illuminations!

Great update :) This is another one that might just have to get on the list. There looked to be plenty of veggie options and the desserts look delicious.

Yay, you made it to dinner! :woohoo:

And it looks like it was pretty good, too! It's on our list to try sometime.

Hurray! You finally made it to Yachtman's and from the pictures it sure looked great!

I think I would have ordered the exact same as you, that steak and creamed spinach looked ridiculously good :)

I have to apologise for my error regarding the temperatures in England, we don't use Fahrenheit here so in reality our hottest days would be more like 75-80 degrees and not 28 !!! I would not live here in those kind of temps lol

Just found your TR yesterday, and am really enjoying reading it! I'm about halfway through right now. My sister and I were at WDW in December, and we overlapped your trip by a few days! We also did a split stay, the first three nights in a BWV 1BR, and then the last six nights at a VWL 1BR. My sister hadn't been to Disney in 6 years, and we had a blast! I've started a trip report, of which there is a link in my signature.

Your baby boy is so adorable! I have two new grandsons, Wes, who is now 10 months old, and Gavin, who is almost three months old. We will be taking them to Disney for their first trip, along with their cousins, Jaxon, 7, and CJ, 2. It will be their first Disney trip also. Should be very interesting!

Can I ask about how you went about ordering from Walmart? I was going to order from Garden Grocer, but with their minimum, as well as delivery charge & tip, it seems Walmart may be the way to go. How far in advance did you have to order, and how did you have it addressed to get to you at the resort?

My bff and I are going to Disney in a little over three weeks for a girls' trip! That will be two girls only trips for me in a six month period! We are doing a split stay, 2 nights in a Kidani standard studio, and then 5 nights in a Jambo standard 1BR. Love seeing your Kidani pics!:)

Yes Yachtsman was delicious! A must do!

Definitely Pam. I think you would really enjoy it!

Haha isn't it sad it took us so long to get to Yachtsman?!:lmao:

:rotfl: I was going to say wow those are your highs?! Even 80 degrees would be ideal. We just hit 84 yesterday and was not happy about it.:headache:

Hi Teresa and Welcome!

That will be so much fun! I really think taking him at 2 months was so easy. We're going to possibly be trying a Disneyland trip within the next month or two and I'm already wondering how it will be. He's so much more active now but I guess it will be much more fun for rides and character interactions.

I saved all my emails from my trip so I can look back and see how I ordered :) I placed a Walmart order for Diapers and Water on November 29 (check-in date was December 8th) and they got shipped the very next day on November 30. They both shipped in 2 different shipments and both arrived 2 days later at the resort. I called Kidani to verify that my shipments made it the day they arrived and they noted it on my reservation so that when I checked in, the CM would know that I have packages waiting. There were a few open spots when addressing for shipping so I made it out like this:

First-Last Name
Disney’s Animal Kingdom-Kidani
3701 Osceola Pkwy
Lake Buena Vista
Fl
32830

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

Today was our last full day at WDW, but I wasn't going to let that get me down. We still had some ADR's and rides to get to!

This is what our schedule looked like for today…
-Magic Kingdom
-Lunch @ Grand Floridian Café @ 11:45am
-Dinner @ Artist Point @ 6:20pm
-Open for the night/Boardwalk?

The one thing I really wanted to make sure we did, was to take DS on Dumbo. He didn’t ride it while we were at Disneyland one month before our WDW trip, so he needed to get on it this trip.

We all woke up around 7:30am and was out the door around 8:45. DS was ready to hit the parks!

Decided to take a picture of the Gingerbread Carousel on the way to the bus stop

It didn’t take too long for a bus to come and there weren’t too many people to board, which was great. We had to go to a few resorts to pick up people and we were on our way. Today I was determined to stick to our FP+ schedule that we had and this is what it looked like

I took a snapshot while on the bus riding to the various resorts and thought, “We have plenty of time to make the 9-10am reservation for Splash Mountain"….we get dropped off at 9:50! We made a quick dash and pretty much ran to Splash Mountain and made it with, literally, a minute to spare! We grabbed a Rider Swap card and DM and DH went on first. This is DM’s favorite ride at DLR, so I knew she was going to love this version of Splash and she did!

There was no wait for this because it was a bit chilly outside, which was perfect! Next up was me and DM, while DH and DS hung out. Oops, covered the people behind me!

DH failed to tell me what he did while waiting for us to get off the ride. I found out later when looking at the Photopass card

Look at Woody holding his heart

Absolutely love these photos and am so happy that DH did a character meet with them.

Next, we headed to HM to show DM the differences between the two versions. On the way, we spotted a lonely PP, so we took some pictures

DH found wooden stocks on our way to the Haunted Mansion and wanted his picture taken. I absolutely HATE when he turns his eyelids inside out but he wanted it to be dramatic

This darling older couple, probably in their mid 70’s were smiling and giggling at DH. After DH moved, the woman stood in front of the steps to the stocks so her husband could take a picture of her because she couldn’t get up the steps without help. DH went over and told the older gentleman that I’d take the picture while they he helps his wife get up the steps to take a picture together. It was really such a precious and cute moment. They were both so happy and were having such a grand time in the wooden stocks you’d think they’d just won the lottery. Wish I had gotten a picture of them, they were just so adorable.

Again, we were still making our way to the HM when a CM was standing near Columbia Harbor House ringing a bell, and DH yelled to him, “I like your bell!” and the CM yelled back, “I like your hat!” so DH went over and switched ‘costumes’ with him

DH was acting super silly today, and I loved it!

Finally we get in line for the HM. While in line, I decided to change around our FP+ reservations because we were not going to make the other times. I changed it to make sure that we go on Dumbo

DM really enjoyed the HM She liked the crazy stairs room, which I love too.

After getting off the HM, it was 11 and we had 45 minutes until our lunch reservation. No one was really in the mood to eat right then and I was still on the fence about eating at the GFC. I asked everyone if it would be okay if we changed restaurants. Everyone seemed more than fine with it, so I called the Disney Dining Line and asked if there was any lunch availability at Kona Café. There was a 12:45 available so I took it! Yay! More time for rides and a great restaurant ahead of us!

We were right around the corner from IASW, and this is DM’s 2nd favorite ride at Disneyland so of course we had to go on! DS was awake for IASW at Disneyland and I was hoping he would be awake for this as well and sure enough, he was!

And right at the end, he knocked out.

We headed to Philharmagic next

DM thought this was so cute and fun! I totally love this show. It’s so relaxing and entertaining. And boy does it smell good in there and that’s when we started getting hungry. We got out of there at 12 and thought it would be a good idea to head over to the Poly for our new lunch ADR at Kona Cafe.

Great update :) Glad you were able to make it to Splash Mountain, that bus took ages! Cute pictures with Woody and Jessie.

I've never read a review of Kona Cafe, I hope lunch was delicious.

That's cool that you got to try FP+... so in the end, what do you think of it? I'm pretty skeptical about it and I've got to admit, I already don't like it even though I've never had it.

It looks like the morning was off to a great start. I'm glad your DH was really just living it up and having fun being silly. Nothing like just acting like a kid when you're in Disney World! :thumbsup2

I'm glad your DM liked Mickey's Philharmagic. I absolutely love that show.

I love the pictures of the Toy Story characters. Even though DH hates Jessie with a passion (I think more the voice than anything) i'm glad he took DS to see them.

I was very happy with lunch. That review should come soon.

I'm not really a fan of FP+ after trying it. I'm an uber planner, but not to that extreme. It was cool to try it though. I feel like there has to be room for some spontaneity in between all the ADR's and scheduling of which park to go to on which day. I can see how it would be fun for older children to be involved in the planning and choosing which attraction to see at a specific time. Probably won't partake in it next time.

I love when he acts like that and it's a rarity that he acts like that (unless he's drinking of course :lmao:)

Reading from my phone so I can't see your pics real well but I can tell they are adorable. Fun update. Yeah for changing the ADR. I live Kiona.

The older couple sounded so cute and I think your DH is having a grand old time.

I know I got behind while in HHI but I promise ill get caught up soon.

AP- good choice. :)

That has pretty much been my exact opinion about FP+, having had no hands on experience. I'm just afraid that during a busy time, you might not be able to have the flexibility to change times the way you did for some of the more popular attractions as your plans change... I see it potentially being like the ADR stalking that you have to do now for some of the more popular restaurants if you didn't get the restaurant and/or time you wanted at 180 days out. Either settle for a ride you really aren't that excited about getting an FP for, or end up with a time you don't really want. Who knows what it will be once they make it public though... :confused3

Looks like a really fun morning in MK :goodvibes thanks for the screen shots of FP+ too, I was wondering what it looked like! I haven't heard much about the roll out of it lately, but I'd love to try it out on a future trip :thumbsup2
