Here now and was one who was worried about the thermostat issue. We got here and the lowest it went was 67 - def. Was too warm for me, especially for sleeping. Called maintenace to come lower it and now it goes down to 64 which is MUCH better.

Ftr - 67 felt like 77 to me!

Newbie here...first post actually.

We stayed at AoA in June, we were the first ones in the Cars suites..I will be happy to answer some questions.
.

Well, if you do not mind I would appreciate any help!

We have stayed at Pop century (2 rooms) and enjoyed our stay very much and we are wondering if we would like AOA for grandchildren, especially a grandson who loves the cars movies. How far is the walk from the cars section to lobby and bus & which building would you suggest? Would the suite be comfortable for 4 adults & 2 small children?

I'm also a little worried about the food court at AOA . We like fruit, salad and vegetables the typical cheeseburgers, nuggets, pizza & moms night out specials, & ice cream section at Pop Century. We are not to adventurous in our eating.

We stayed in a preferred room at Pop close to the food court & lobby and we liked the convenience of running to the food court for breakfast, lunch, dinner when we were there and needed to eat. So... I worry I may stay in the cars section of AOA and be driving to POP to eat .LOL! We also enjoyed the close walk to and from the bus.

Any help appreciated! Thanks!

I am not an adventurous eater, either and I did not much care for the food at AoA. We walked over to Pop a few times to eat.

How long does it take to get to MK by car? DH hates the buses, so we drive everywhere. Just wondering as I start to plan our schedule! Thanks!

About 15 minutes drive time. Just remember you will need to park the car, take a tram to the TTC and then board either monorail or boat to get to MK. So depending on crowds, it could be a 40 minute trip. Of the people I know that don't like the buses, MK is the one place they do use the bus.

Trying to figure out if I should try and do room request in Nemo Buildings...We are guaranteed Nemo...just dont know what floor to choose and where elevators are located in building. I think I perfer Building 5 close to food court...just not sure about floor? newbie - so dnt know..thanks for any help..and comments

I'm pretty sure I've asked this before but I forgot the answer... Are all 3 Nemo buildings close to the food court/ bus stops? I wasn't going to request a building, I didn't think there was a "bad" Nemo building. Thanks! :)

There are only 2 Nemo buildings. Both buildings are close to the food court and bud stop.

The elevators are in the middle of the buildings. I put in requests to be on the ground floor close to animation hall and I was put on the 2nd floor about halfway between the elevators and the end of the hall. We had 2 double strollers with us so it was kind of a pain to either walk to the middle of the building, try to fit us all (party of 12) in an elevator and then walk back to our room - or, collapse the strollers and carry both strollers, the kids, and all our stuff up the stairs that were closer to our room. We did both scenarios depending on if the kids were awake or not.

I am not sure which is better to request. Either close to animation hall, or else ground floor. I guess it depends on whether you would rather walk farther or have to deal with some stairs.

My DH never liked buses, so I was shocked when he decided that we would take the buses, I figured after the first day, he would go back to driving. He did not, he enjoyed having someone else drive & us not having to park & ride the tram to the park entrance. When he figured out that if we got on the first bus in the mornings, it was not packed, he was up & ready before all of us, rushing us to get going:rotfl:. He said if we go back, we were going to stay on site again & take the Disney Buses!! AOA does not share buses with any other Resorts, I would ask him if he would want to try it aleast once. If you aleast take the bus to Magic Kingdom, you will get dropped right off at the park entrance, you will not have to ride the tram to the ttc & ride the monorail or ferry to get to the main entrance.

On our last day, we took the first bus at 6:45 am to Magic Kingdom, we did not have a breakfast reservation, DH wanted to ride the first Bus out, ( It was us & another family-they had breakfast reservations) we wanted to be early & figured we would find a good spot to watch the parks opening show. Well we got a great spot, we were picked as the opening family for the day, we go to be in the opening show for Magic Kingdom with Mickey & Freinds, it was awesome, the CM told us that if someone asks how to get picked to be an opening family?, the key is to get to the park early, I never dreamed this would happen, it was a great way to end our vacation!!

Hope I'm allowed to post this.

Thought this may help someone decide for themselves about the little mermaid rooms.

I watched and timed the walk from the pool or lobby to the little mermaid. It seem to take them about 8 minutes after they left the pool and the lobby to get to the little Mermaid rooms and they were filming. It looks like they were not walking fast and were stopping a little along the way during the filming.

We were in bldg 8. It took us 8-9 mins to walk to Animation Hall, at a normal pace and not stopping.

Due to the inconvenience of the walk, we wouldn't stay at AoA again. If I'm paying almost $400 a night for a room (the average cost of a room at AoA is $383), it won't be at a "value".

See I was thinking of the staying in a LM room at AOA but I was a bit concerned about the distance to the bus and food court, since we will have refillable mugs is the walk for coffee and soda going to be worth it? Biggest thing is we need coffee with breakfast but its a pain to carry around the mugs all day at the parks and normally its not such a long walk back to the room to put the mugs back..Hmm..

I don't mind walking believe me but after a long day in the parks not sure about a long trek to the room.. Anyone have any experience with this?

Oh wow that's awesome that you guys were able to do that! So what time were you at the park by? 7?

Manyminnie- I don't understand your post. Little Mermaid rooms are not $400 a night. The suites may be closer to that price in peak times. Are you saying that the walk from the suites is long? Even the cars section is closer than LM.
