Do you have to stay in a suite??

My plan was to go this summer with my 10, 4, and 2 year old. We purchased a house instead and I will be starting to save the $$$ so that next year is a definate.

However when I went online to get an estimate on prices, since it would be my husband, myself and by than an 11, 5, and 3 year old its automatically directing me to a family suite.

I'd rather stay on site, but not at that price. We use the rooms to sleep only, so I am not concerned about space.

Is it possible to call and book to get pricing without the family suite or is it something I can't get around? It will definatley make a difference on whether we go or not at that pricing.

I am a family of 5. When I go in Oct. my youngest will still be 2 until the 20th. I don't have to book a suite because the 2 year old is not counted in the people in room #. If I go once she is 3 I can no longer book a 4 person room because we are 5. Now POR has the rooms with the small extra bed for a child that pulls down to fit a family of 5.

I also like that my 2 year old gets into the parks for free and doesn't need a dining plan -she can eat off our plates kinda thing. I'm going to buy her meals at qS but at buffets it is great. Once she turns 3 she pays for everything.

That's because they want to fill the more expensive rooms first . Pick Port Orleans Riverside, as the Alligator Bayou rooms will accommodate a family of 5.

POR Alligator Bayou, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk Inn, Contemporary Resort, Grand Floridian and Polynesian Resort all have regular rooms that sleep five.Contemporary Resort Garden Wing rooms will give you a spacious room with two queens, daybed (larger than the foldout thing at POR AB) and the ability to walk to the Magic Kingdom. When our girls were young this was our "home". Room only discounts can bring the price down (when rooms are available).

When you go online to the website you have the opportunity to choose your own resort. plug in Port Orleans Riverside to price it. You're not locked in to what it gives you first time.

This happened when we looked as well. Like pp said Port Orleans Riverside will fit a family of 5 in the rooms with a child size Murphy bed. And it's cheaper than the suites. The cabins and many Deluxe rooms will also fit 5 but I believe they were all more expensive than the suites.

Have it look at Port Orleans Riverside - you can designate the resort - or at the Fort Wilderness cabins if you're so inclined.

It depends on which resort you were checking. If you were checking a value or CSR it will bring up a suite because those are the only rooms that sleep 5. We're a family of 5, we usually stay at POR.

The cheapest for 5 is the Alligator Bayou rooms at POR.
Then two reg. rooms at a value (ask for connecting, not guaranteed, but they try, and we've always gotten them)
Then, I think a suite at all star music.
Then either the cabins or AoA.
We loved the cabins, but you only get one bathroom, and it cost more than the value family suites with two bathrooms.

If you were checking value resorts, the only way to stay in one room is to get a Family Suite. The other option at the values would be 2 rooms. Each value room only holds 4 people and 1 child under the age of 3. Now that your youngest is 3 you no longer fit in one regular room.

You would still fit in 1 room at POR. It will also be cheaper than 2 rooms at a value, or a family suite.
