The Official October 2013 Trip Planning Thread

Just heard back from my TA! Got all the Restuarnts I wanted at the time I wanted them! Including Ohana and Be Our Guest! Only one isn't reserved yet and apparently Turf Club doesn't take reservations. But really that works out better for that day anyways!:cool1::banana::cool1::banana::cool1::banana:

Now I'm even more excited!!!!

The monorail does not run to DHS. Outside of DHS there is Cape May at the beach club, which is a short walk to DHS. I'm not sure if they have characters all day though. Inside DHS there is Hollywood and Vine.

Thank you for responding! I'll think about that's abs look at that menu!

Jumping in! We just booked BC CL for 10/28-11/1! It's to celebrate our one year wedding anniverary! So excited

I'm really hoping we can get a BOG reservation since now we'll be able to do the 180+10. Anyone have any trouble with that yet for you guys who are going earlier in the month?

I'll let you know on/after this coming Sunday! We're planning it for later in our trip, so fully taking advantage of the +10 for the BOG ADR. :hyper: We'll be celebrating our 10th anniversary, just with the kiddos tagging along...

Well, AutoTrain has no room for my oversized van, so it's back to flying, but hey, we're still going to WDW! :)

Joining in on the thread!

Doing a split stay 10/4-10/13 at Art of Animation and Beach Club. It's going to be me, DH, DS, and 2 of our friends. Or friends are celebrating their 2nd wedding anniversary, DS is celebrating turning 6 and I am celebrating turning 30! Now I just need to find something for DH to celebrate ;)

I've got almost all my ADRs set, including Chef's Table at Victoria and Albert's!!! It's my birthday present to myself :thumbsup2

We bought our flight tix last night, so it's official! We will be at POP Oct 18-26! Hope to do MNSSHP on either the 20th or 22nd. Yay!

Some of our dates overlap. I may see you at the food court or bus stop

Some of our dates overlap too! While we're staying at POR unless something changes our mind with discounts, etc. we are probably sticking with POR (although we did toss up getting 2 connecting rooms in POP), but will probably check out POP and AoA on an off day... so maybe (big maybe) we'll see you both... maybe... :lmao:

We are thinking of hitting MNSSHP on the 24th, with back-up dates 22nd or 25th. I've noticed last year the week prior to Halloween did not sell out right up to the day before the parties (online), so I am hoping the same is true this year. Anyone else taking a gamble and waiting until almost the last minute to buy MNSSHP tickets vs. buying them right when they are released? I'd rather go by the weather forecast and hold off as long as possible. Since we have some flexiblility in our schedule I would hate to buy tickets and then pretty much get rained out. Also shooting for a Thursday or Tuesday party should help, right? :confused3 TIA!

I need to change my ticker! :cheer2:

We have our room at POFQ and our ADRs booked for our week, October 11-18th:cheer2:!!

So excited to try "new to us" dining locales including Flying Fish, Be Our Guest, Yak and Yeti, 50's Prime Time, Tutto Gusto and Teppan Edo.

Planning a WDW trip of several firsts for us with the new restaurants as well as experiences -Mini golfing at Fantasia, MNSSHP, Food and Wine, and hopefully we will even get on Tom Sawyer's Island this trip... :p

Very excited to have plans in motion as I look at the SNOW outside STILL in mid-April......

The snow IS melting today, isn't it.... LOL!

Looks like we will just miss you this fall fellow Minnesotan! Did you get your flights yet? If not check out SWA, their flights just came down in price today while Delta and Sun Country flights are just... crazy! :confused3

We have made a decision on MNSSHP costumes. We will be going as the cast of Disney Channel's Gravity Falls. :goodvibes

We finally booked our trip on Sunday. We are doing POR for 7 nights. Oct 30-Nov 6. It was originally going to be me, DW, DD(11) but we have added out DS(20) on as well. If a good deal on flights out of Buffalo comes along we may do that, but if not we will be driving down. This will be our first time with 3 drivers and that will probably an overnight drive much easier! Now that it is official and we are going...We can't wait!

Yes, the sun is helping today :beach: - first time in over a week it feels like! Hope we don't get more snow as predicted this week....

I will check the flights as we have not been watching yet - thanks for the tip! We may have to go Delta as we are getting one of our 4 tickets from a FF miles donation from DG :) And we are ending the trip in Bradenton so need to see which airport is best to come and go from!

Enjoy the MEA break in FL - we are excited as we are used to Spring Break crowds on our disney trips...

So awesome how many trips are overlapping! We'll be there Oct. 18-27th! Originally it was later in the month, but it worked out better this way. Maybe we'll have some dismeets!

We are hoping to go to MNSSHP on the 24th as well depending on weather & ticket sales. I too am hoping to wait to get tickets. Maybe we will bump into each other :)

I am trying to decide between Hollywood studios and Epcot during our stay. Here is our itinerary as of now:
10/3 animal kingdom
10/4 magic kingdom
10/5 magic kingdom
10/6 Hollywood studios

Should we go to Epcot instead on our last day? What do you think about changing up animal kingdom? We are pretty set on MK day 2-3 due cinderellas Bfast, and fireworks. My girls will be 4 and 7. What do you think they will like best??

LOVE that show. The theme song is my ringtone. We saw a family dressed as them during Comic Con. Soooo cool.

Since
It's our anniversary weekend, thinking DH and I will go as a Day of the Dead or zombie bride and groom. I need a cheap "wedding dress" because it's going to get trashed with makeup anyway. I'm thinking DotD is less scary.

Dropped their prices indeed!!!! DH just checked the flights we've been looking at...... can you say $75 drop in price!!:cool1:

Thanks for the heads up!

I just checked last night and the best flights I could find on Southwest or other airlines from Minneapolis to Tampa or to Orlando are $370 round trip - is this cheaper than they were or are you finding better deals?? Seems high, but our last flights were FFmiles paid so not sure what to expect to pay.:confused3

Thanks,
