Coffee on the Verandah -The Last Slide, Recap & Souvies 5/29 - Link to Aulani TR 5/31

I finally caught up, but on my phone so i couldn't see all the photos. Odd.

First, pepperplate - its a recipe storage and sharing site. I keep the app on my phone and nook, and upload recipes oncomputer. I now always have my favorite recipes with me. (That was a question back in March!)

Your disembarking day..ugh! But what a great way to surprise the kids! I noticed what a great menu they had in Mara in February.

Your standard view. Wow! Amazing! I liked the verandah comparison. I wonder if Jambo house verandahs are smaller because they started as regular resort rooms and then were converted?

Poor Jeff all that running, rain, and no beer. Hope the drink at the Wave made up for it! The fireworks looked great.

Cant wait to hear how Kendell enjoys her tour. The AK day looks good so far.

Wow you got lots of great Safari photos! It looks like it was a beautiful day too :)

Everyone seems to be having problems with the new photobucket :( And I hate how the free accounts have such limited storage now.

It was a beautiful day and a great morning!

I will say PB has gotten better in the last week and over time, it has improved, they just launched that beta way before it was ready and they know it. They put a cap on the pro accounts too which no one is happy about.

I am always in for a good safari! Thanks for all the pictures.
Mingos happen to be dear to my heart, as well, because my sweet Bella adores them. :cutie:

Looks like you really got some spectacular animal viewing on the safari. Although you found the elephants boring, it seems like you might have been there longer than normal. We always seem to zoom right by them and I'm lucky if I can snap more than 3 pictures before they are out of view.

That is really sad about the zebras. They were almost done building the enclosure when we were there in June.

The close-up rhino pictures are AWESOME!!!

Now that's what I call a close up! Most of my safari shots end up being rubbish, we've got a better camera now so maybe next time we'll get some decent shots, roll on 2015.

Great safari pictures! By the way, what do you get when you cross an elephant with a rhino?

I'm glad the Little Red story is gone. It always felt very forced and cheesy.

No animatronic sleeping male lion, huh? Must have been down for repairs. :rotfl:

Ok, I admit... I am obsessed with this TR!! From your lovely family to your touching tribute of your Dis-friend to your story of how you purchased your add'l DVC membership (glad that worked out!) what a great read. Still reading through it all but like I said...obsessed! :)

Amazing safari photos... that rhino is right there! Wow!

Great safari pictures!!! Sorry you didn't have much luck with the lions!! I never even try to take pictures of them because every safari I go on they are never out!:confused3

Stupid PB...if I ever decide to do a TR, I will have to learn a lot more about it. Or...try this..:badpc: eesh...

Does your tag line for your next update mean its OVER?!?! NOOOO....

Great shots on the safari...especially the close-ups. I've only seen the lions up and about one or two times in all of our safari rides. Lazy butts!:rotfl:

You must have had a great safari driver, to get that many elephant pictures! Our last trip, we rode KS twice in the same day, the first driver obviously loved her job and was was probably the best one we've ever seen but the second one, she just said what she was supposed to say as fast as she could say it (couldn't understand her most of the time) and barely stopped at all.

I especially liked your pelican pictures!

All that tech talk is making me URL!!!!~:rotfl2:Great elephant and Rhino shots !!!!:cool1:

Just like the teacher in Charlie Brown :rotfl:

Great pics! :)

Thanks!

I finally caught up, but on my phone so i couldn't see all the photos. Odd.

I hate that, sometimes they don't load well on my phone and sometimes they do...:confused3

First, pepperplate - its a recipe storage and sharing site. I keep the app on my phone and nook, and upload recipes oncomputer. I now always have my favorite recipes with me. (That was a question back in March!)

Gotcha. I'm too scattered for that I think. I have recipes in too many places. My phone by app (Epicurious, Food Network, All Recipes) my actual cookbooks and then a binder of ones I print off the computer. I really should print them all, unfortunately when I just read them off my phone, I forget about them and don't do it again until I look in the app recipie box...while on the computer. :rotfl2:

I don't think they are any smaller than the Kidani ones, the are narrow but plenty long. Granted, I've not been on a Kidani one but I think they are quite similar and certainly the furniture is. Amazing view is right, total jackpot.

Poor Jeff all that running, rain, and no beer. Hope the drink at the Wave made up for it! The fireworks looked great.

Cant wait to hear how Kendell enjoys her tour. The AK day looks good so far.

Jeff was definitely feeling much better after drink, dinner and fireworks :thumbsup2

our AK morning was perfect!

I am always in for a good safari! Thanks for all the pictures.
Mingos happen to be dear to my heart, as well, because my sweet Bella adores them. :cutie:

How can you not adore a Mingo? Even the name is cute!

Looks like you really got some spectacular animal viewing on the safari. Although you found the elephants boring, it seems like you might have been there longer than normal. We always seem to zoom right by them and I'm lucky if I can snap more than 3 pictures before they are out of view.

Well I should amend that statement. I don't find elephants boring at all. I just thought they looked a bit boring in my pictures. "Here's the right side of an elephant" "Here's the left side of an elephant". Our jeep stopped a LOT on this safari, lots of animals in the road which did make for much better picture opportunities than usual.

That is really sad about the zebras. They were almost done building the enclosure when we were there in June.

The close-up rhino pictures are AWESOME!!!

I'm sad about them too. You would think they'd know whether they'd play nicely or not before going to all that trouble. Oh well, we did see a LOT of zebras at our villa so we were not stripe deprived this trip.

I was pretty pleased with the rhino zoom, thanks!

Now that's what I call a close up! Most of my safari shots end up being rubbish, we've got a better camera now so maybe next time we'll get some decent shots, roll on 2015.

I have a lot that are rubbish too, Hard with all that bouncing around! We stopped more than usual due to animals in the road so that helped a ton! That and a semi decent zoom for the range I was at.

Great safari pictures! By the way, what do you get when you cross an elephant with a rhino?

eleph....i...know!

I'm glad the Little Red story is gone. It always felt very forced and cheesy.

Agreed, never liked it.

No animatronic sleeping male lion, huh? Must have been down for repairs. :rotfl:

Replaced by female sleeping animatronic. Easier to mane-tain.

Ok, I admit... I am obsessed with this TR!! From your lovely family to your touching tribute of your Dis-friend to your story of how you purchased your add'l DVC membership (glad that worked out!) what a great read. Still reading through it all but like I said...obsessed! :)

Aw, thanks Brenda! Happy to have you here!

Amazing safari photos... that rhino is right there! Wow!

Yes he was! It was pretty cool.

Ooooh. This will be our next Adventure!

:thumbsup2

We went to Peru and had an amazing time and have our sights set on a Safari next!

I would love to go on a real one

Great safari pictures!!! Sorry you didn't have much luck with the lions!! I never even try to take pictures of them because every safari I go on they are never out!:confused3

I have ONE good lion picture over the years

ok...two

And I didn't even take them! My then 9 year old had my camera

Stupid PB...if I ever decide to do a TR, I will have to learn a lot more about it. Or...try this..:badpc: eesh...

I do find imaginary drop kicking to be helpful.

:rotfl:

Does your tag line for your next update mean its OVER?!?! NOOOO....

Oh no, a never done is done in the next update, I am not at all done yet. I'd say I have several updates left before we get through this day and then we still have a chunk of the following day to go...plus the mandatory wrap up and souvenir updates!

I'll be lucky to finish by my Aulani trip.

Great shots on the safari...especially the close-ups. I've only seen the lions up and about one or two times in all of our safari rides. Lazy butts!:rotfl:

see above, me too. That was in 2009!

We saw a TON of animals this time which was great so I guess the lion can wait. Someday.

You must have had a great safari driver, to get that many elephant pictures! He was a good driver and funny. We did seem to stop more than usual which helped a lot and got lucky with a TON of animals out, who conveniently kept crossing the road and slowing us down! :thumbsup2

I dunno, eliphino? :confused3 (h-e-double-hockey-sticks-if-I-know). :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Can't put anything past you guys! :thumbsup2

Won't stop you from trying! :thumbsup2

(rim shot)

Bah dum dum.

:thumbsup2

Great update Cynthia! :thumbsup2 I love the safari. The Africa bumper stickers make me laugh because Michael's been there 3x. No bumper stickers to be found like those. ;)

I love the giraffes too. They're so elegant and beautiful.

All that tech talk is making me URL!!!!~:rotfl2:Great elephant and Rhino shots !!!!:cool1:

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Oh heck that made me :lmao:. All I can say is I am glad I did not have a drink in my mouth.

Replaced by female sleeping animatronic. Easier to mane-tain.

Another one. That was hilarious.

Great safari- Like you already confirmed your driver was able to stop a lot and you all got some great shots. :thumbsup2

I heard about the zebras and did get to see them once but the report I saw said they were not acclimating and even biting each other. I guess they were not stressed and not happy - Hopefully there will be more at AKL.
