Check-in was longer than I'd hoped at 2 in the morning......

So here's where we are. The family is not thrilled, and in turn, neither am I. This has been stressful since they are here for such a short time. All their luggage is stored in our room because the front desk and bell services can't make up their minds about what will happen to their luggage, and in turn, though there's been nothing wrong with our stay, it's soured me a bit on this resort. I'm a die-hard Disney fan, and will be back again and again...this was a big...doesn't happen often trip for our companions, and this is what they're dealing with.

We checked in after 1am and it took awhile just to get a Bell guy and to get checked in. sleepy place at that hour...

Just call Bell Services, tell them you need the luggage picked up and then moved immediately to the new room; I assume your family has the new keycards. Deal with management later, IMO. For now, just get the stuff moved over.

That whole luggage thing not getting moved scares me. We check in on 5/31 in a preferred room, and then we move to RGR for 9 nights. My plan was to head to service desk at 7:00 am with luggage in tow so that we can check out and check back in. I figured I could leave my luggage, and we could head to Epcot for the day.

Will the resort then move our luggage to RGR when the room is ready??

No they aren't going to move it from a room and to a room without you being there on both ends. It's just not what Bell Services does.

If you use Magical Express those people will put bags into a room without you there. If you are going on a Disney cruise and buy DCL transfers they will pick up from a room without you there. But not normal Bell Services.

So before you head to do the checkout/in process, have Bell Services come up and snag your bags. They will store them for the day, and when you get back, call them and have them deliver the bags.

which is actually a good thing!!!! We were booked into Pop in 2007 and it was over sold, so they bumped us up to SSR 1br Villa, it made for an awesome 11 day stay!!!!

I wouldn't quibble with that, too much :thumbsup2 However, getting an upgrade won't necessarily happen. Ah well, we'll be fine whatever happens.

I would be fine with an upgrade but it seems to me they "downgraded" the room. Poor customer service

I got the impression that the computer system said that they didn't book that room. Not that they were purposely downgraded, but that that is what happened. And while they still were saying that the fmaily didn't reserve the room, they said they would give it to them the next day: "she was told they could put her in one for her last 3 nights, but not her first".

And then, once the family found the paperwork, the move was definitely happening, but still could not happen that first night because they were full.

Not that it was a good situation, but it seemed they were going initially by the computers.

Are connecting rooms in AB loud? In that, can you hear your neighbors easily? We really need quiet-early to bed.....midday nappers...problem is I sent a fax in this morning and didn't note "non-connecting room" It just crossed my mind tonight as I was reading a post on the POFQ thread. Is this something I should be concerned about?? or is it an non-issue?
I did ask for top floor, quiet location as we are midday nappers and go to bed early

I never heard our neighbors... and I know we had some.

It's not an issue we had neighbors ( their window was decorated for Christmas) but never heard them..

That exact same thing happened to us in 2009- and we had 3 rooms booked so they upgraded us all!

We are here now and haven't heard our neighbors except for random toilet flushes.

Another question. We have a 7:30a ADR at Kona. What's the best way to get there and how early should we leave? I would like to avoid taking a taxi but if we have to go that route, how much would it be?

Not especially, there are two pretty solid doors between the two rooms. Generally, I think you hear more noise from the room above (especially if kids are jumping about) than you do sidewards.

Single digits!!

What do I need to make sure I bring (paperwork wise that is)?

Thanks!

I'm envious. I have 92 days.

I always have a printout of my reservation with me but I have never needed it. All you will need is a photo ID. (I believe it needs to be the primary person on the reservation who checks in.)

This should make you feel a little better...I have 185 days!!

So does the resort really make you feel like you are in Song of the South or Splash Mountain? SM is my all time favorite ride.

Ok so if I think we left something in the room when we left, how can I get ahold of someone about it? Or is it just lost? Thanks!

Anyone know? Thanks :)

Have you thought about contacting them and asking? That would have been the first thing I would have tried to be honest. The phone number is in the first post of this thread.

68 days and counting til our FIRST Disney trip!! :cool1: One question - we arrive on our first day at noon and have an ADR at Chef Mickey at 6:00. I'm pre ordering PP+ and would like to get that before our dinner. What's my best plan of attack? Boat to DTD to get my PP+, then is there a bus from there to CM? OR do I take a bus to MK, get my PP+ and walk to CM? And how long would either of these take? :confused3

Ok, I guess that was more than one question...:rotfl:
