These are NOT the rooms that I paid for! 3 Resorts in 10 days - Trivia Answers 9/3

Great updates! I haven't been in New Fantasyland at night yet, and the gates looked so pretty all lit up. :) Fun hearing about the DIS meet as well - that photo of you all in front of the fire dept. is so cute!

Rechecking in! Had to create a whole new account. My old one was hacked and the email changed so I can't log into it. :( But I'm the same DISNEYDUET just in new clothing :goodvibes

How great that you got in without an adr! Glad that the food was all good, and awesome TIW discount, that’s great!! Club level certainly sounds like the way to travel at Disney. One of these days I’ll be rich enough, baha!!

Aw man!! We were totally at MK on the same night, though we had left around 8 for dinner at 1900 and decided not to return after as it was arrival day! Did Em get that bag over in the EE gift shop at AK?!? I’m pretty sure I have the same one!! And how awesome to think to grab a dinglehopper!

I have to say, I do think WDW’s queue line for LM ride wins by far, the thing’s so huge and amazing! Great that you guys got FLE done in some EMH, I have always wondered about Enchanted Tales at night, as I don’t like doing it first thing, with no kids I just feel like it kind of wastes time in the morning.

Hi Brenda :wave2:
I'm back in the UK and working through my jet lag by catching up on everyone's TRs and it looks like I made a guest appearance in yours!
It was such fun to spend time with you and Em in DL :goodvibes
Also, this is the first time that I have seen the photos of your upgraded room ...
WOW !!!!!
I had no idea it would be so spectacular!
It's HUGE ..... I'm not sure I would have wanted to leave the room!
What wonderful pixie dust and it couldn't have happened to two nicer people :flower3:

So I just looked at the Reveal of the Admiral's Suite and I would have done the same thing. Just watching it made me tear up some. I'm hoping for some kind of pixie dust when we head to Disney World in June. We just booked a Studio Villa at Animal Kingdom Lodge for the last two nights we are in Florida. My daughter has no idea! :) Can't wait to read more about your trip!

Excellent trip report so far! Ok I'm in & subscribing. Currently planning a ladies only trip for this Fall. My traveling companion is a friend who has never done anything Disney. Reading your trip report is really getting me excited.

Our family are DVC members so we will be splitting our time between AKV (club level), VWL, BWV & DCL. It's going to be so much fun being able to see WDW through the eyes of a newbie. :goodvibes

Enjoying your updates as always! We really enjoyed the new Fantasyland area. We saw it at night and it was so beautiful and completely new to us because we have yet to go to DL. I loved that Em brought a dinglehopper. On our next family trip we have plans for forks, frying pans etc.... Thankfully I we have small plastic preschooler sized ones! ETWB I thought was great, we waited I think like 50 minutes maybe more, it was worth it though, the theming and interaction was fantastic (Zoey got to be a salt shaker :) )

And I think you must be the Dismeet queen!!! They should make you an honorary ambassador or something ;)

Brenda- Jill and I will be out the Yacht Club in August when we visit and all of your great pictures are getting us very excited for our trip :goodvibes.... The Captains Grille looked good, we have a breakfast planned there on our day off from the parks during our trip.
Hey there Gin! I love Captain's Grille breakfast - especially the buffet. I've heard you can request the kitchen make cook to order eggs as well even though they are not on the menu.

I think our dates at YC overlap... I hope I'm not having a senior moment here. If so, we may run into each other... even intentionally! :)

Hi there Miss Emma! I peeked at your blog and you have AMAZING photos! Are you seriously a former CM?? So cool! I love your signature links with the images. ::yes::

Rechecking in! Had to create a whole new account. My old one was hacked and the email changed so I can't log into it. :( But I'm the same DISNEYDUET just in new clothing :goodvibes

Hi Running Ariel! Thanks for checking in. Bummer that you had to change your user name etc. Who would create trouble with a DisBoards account? Those irreverent people! For shame!

Hi Katt. I think Em got the bag in Mexico but it looks like something from AK.

The kid had a great idea with the dingle hopper. It made future appearances thoughout the trip.

I agree, hands down WDW wins for the LM queue. The DCA version has no theming, just a line inside. Blah!

Hi Linda. I just emailed you photos of our Dismeet. :) It was wonderful to see you again. Looking forward to December and meeting Phillip. ::yes::

Hi Livsmom!! I feel silly now posting the video since it is rather embarrassing. I feel so lame with my reaction. Oh well, it is what it is!

Wishing you get pixie dust for your trip in June - it has to happen to someone!! Seriously, people should ask if the suite is occupied and if not just negotiate a killer deal. Wouldn't they rather have someone pay something for it rather than getting nothing to do a random upgrade for free?? Not sure. :confused3

Hi Charlotte! Thank you so much for joining and reading! Oh my goodness, are you really staying at 3 resorts and doing a cruise? That is an amazing trip. How long is your trip? Are you considering doing a TR? I would love to hear about your experience. :) I think I'm going to have to do something about purchasing DVC since we love BLT and BWV and I'm sure the AKV. I love that AK has CL for their villas - that is the ultimate experience. :worship:

Hi Sara! Thanks for hanging in there with this slow moving TR.

That's awesome that Zoey was part of the "cast" - I'm sure she was adorable. I love that they give a photopass of all the photos of the show.

Ha! I can only do my "job" being an ambassador if there are wonderful DisBoard members to meet!!! :goodvibes

So glad your TR was bumped up this morning because I got caught up right away.

Cynthia and I had lunch at the Captain's Table and I really enjoyed it. I will definitely be eating more meals there in the future. The fact that its easy to get a seat doesn't hurt either. :thumbsup2

Oh - your room! Yes - I know I've already seen pictures of it - but it still amazes me that you got that "totally random" upgrade. I had a room like that in the Inner Harbor in Baltimore Md once and I thought I died and went to heaven. Plus a view of the Boardwalk from your big king bed - How great is that?

Pretty pictures of your photoshoot with Ariel and Ariel's grotto. I really want to see it at night. It looks so pretty.

Sorry its taken me so long to catch up!

Hi Mary Ellen! No worries about catching up my goodness! You have had quite a few weeks. I hope all is well and that Denny is doing good. I am so glad that your intutiion said - don't just walk away now with an "everything is fine" answer.

I'm got to get caught up my self so you will see me soon. :goodvibes

Monday February 25, 2013: Day 3, Part 1

I awoke early enough to see mist on the surface of Crescent Lake but not early enough to see the sunrise. While Em slept in I cancelled our breakfast ADR at Captains Grille since we were not going to make it over there by 8:15am. It was just as well since we availed ourselves of the Club Level lounge offerings.

Morning in the suite
DSC09295.jpg

While Em slumbered, I explored the suite taking in all the details and things we had missed in our dazed state the day before. For example, the legs of the cocktail table in the living room that were Grecian inspired with bronzed womens heads and feet; the small pink Mickey heads in the carpeting; the framed map in the living room of Rhode Islands Narragansett Bay, the entry credenza with the porthole motif mirror and the cut glass ceiling light fixture; the inlaid teak chest of drawers and glass fronted cabinet in the living room that contained various Disney treasures (I can only imagine since the cabinet was locked but in my mind I'll think of them as priceless Disney artifacts!) and finally, the beautiful harp leg hard wood desk with a brass base candelabra desk lamp.

The details:

Once Em was awake and ready to eat we went to the 5th floor for some breakfast. The lounge was pretty crowded but we planned to eat on our balcony so our food was intended to be to go. Since I'm not a waitress or trained in the art of juggling, it was a bit tricky to get our food and beverages to the room in one trip. Perhaps they offer trays for this purpose but I dont recall seeing any. I know you all are thinking that maybe I should have just limited my choices to one plate of food to eliminate that problem....yeah me too! (But you know the whole hot and cold food can't be together and savory and sweet cant be together thing..,yeah, that.)
My selections were a bowl of fruit (melon), a hard-boiled egg, and a bagel cream cheese. I may have also added coconut custard Danish to my plate. Em had cereal, a boiled egg, and some bakery items.

We sat on the balcony for a total of 3 minutes before the bright hot sun drove us indoors. Our alternate dining setting was the sunroom. Very nice!

Inside, so much less sunny!

Another great start to a wonderful Disney day!

I'm with you - there's no way I would have been able to limit myself to one plate of food when the food is FREE! ;)

And are those hard boiled eggs being served already peeled? Ahhhh, life is good on the Club Lounge! :goodvibes

Monday February 25, 2013: Day 3, Part 2

It was after 10am before we finally got our act together and left the room. Our destination? Disneys Hollywood Studios.

The porthole windows in the turret were where the sunroom was located:

We used the walk-way which is a good 15 minute stroll to the park from the hotel.

I think of Stringbean and Wingnut when I see this...

Before entering the park we took a photo with Mickey and his brooms and buckets.

Heres where I confess that I completely forgot about greeting my boy Bo!! I must have been distracted by the hilarious street performances going on with the Citizens of Hollywood. We love the Mel Brooks look a-like dude.

We went to the Animation Courtyard since we wanted to cross off the list photos with some of the characters. The Incredibles were taking a break and I dont know anything about Wreck It Ralph so that left the beloved Sorcerer Mickey to see. It was a short wait to pose with Mickey. And then we had some fun seeing what character we were most like& Em is so sweet she was Tinkerbell. As for me, since I like to eat nice people for lunch I was most like...>>> See here

Next up, The Great Movie Ride. We were held up by some bank robbers but thankfully, we left with our wallets intact. [Spoiler alert...] And someone should tell the tour guides that we can totally see them changing from a tomb dweller at the Raiders scene back into a tour guide.

Following that exhaustive morning, (yes, exhaustive! We had just survived being on a spaceship with an alien on the loose) we found ourselves at Sweet Spells where they just happen to have the ever amazing carrot cake cookie my all-time favorite snack at any Disney park! Not wanting to spoil our upcoming lunch, I nibble on it and saved most of it for later.

DSC09496.jpg

We watched more Streetmosphere antics on Sunset Blvd before we collected Fast Passes for RnRC for after lunch.

DSC09497.jpg

DSC09501.jpg

The line for ToT was far too long to stand-by so we went back down Sunset Blvd where we happened to see some luggage sitting on the sidewalk. Hey look Linda67, its Route 66!

DSC09514.jpg

DSC09516.jpg

The line for Star Tours was only a 10 minute wait so we did that before going to lunch where we had a 1:45pm ADR at 50s Prime Time Café.

Next up: Lunch with a side of antics.

:thumbsup2
The YC lobby is gorgeous isn't it? Where is sweet spells? That carrot cake cookie looks fantastic and I love your turquoise top - very pretty!

Happy Saturday Dave! Yes, eggs are peeled, chilled, and in the past they had a sprig of dill as a garnishment... guess Disney is cutting back. :p Now if they would just deliver that delicious food to your room, now that would be service!! :upsidedow

I totally would have cancelled the breakfast too. Might as well take advantage of that club lounge! :thumbsup2 What a pretty walk to DHS, and it looks like yall had such a fun morning! That character quiz is too funny.

oops! Sorry, you slipped in there just when I updated...

Now I can't recall if it is called Beverly Sunset or Sweet Spells?? It is at the corner of Hollywood Blvd and Sunset. It has a snack counter that sells all sorts of treats. Everything looks good but the carrot cake cookie is my favorite. :lovestruc

Here's what the sign looks like:

Hi Marissa... everyone is popping in at once and I'm missing getting my comments. :) I don't want to ignore anyone.

It was a lovely morning for the walk to DHS and yes, definitely no need to go to breakfast when we had both free food available and a great place to enjoy the free food. :lmao:

Those interactive machines that tell you what character you are most like are so fun! I was going to be a "sir" but Em said we needed to talk. :confused3 I think being most like Jafar would be fun. ;)

I got so behind from my trip but I am caught up now!

What an awesome night in new fantasyland! We just had one of those nights with no wait for anything and it was glorious.

Just saw the other updates- those pink hidden mickeys in the carpet are amazing!!!

Yay - you travelled down Route 66!

I must admit than mine and DH's luggage didn't look quite so glam and exotic as yours though - more like two dusty and battered suitcases that had been dragged from England!

I can totally see Em as Tinkerbell but you are nothing like Ursula!!

Oh and I am a huge fan of the Carrot Cake Cookie - yummy!
