Alaskan Adventures on the Wonder! June 3,2013-FE info post #61!

So I was looking thru some of the threads and saw that they are not doing Pirate Night on the Alaskan Cruises. Instead they are doing a Pixar themed meet and greet. Someone posted their response when questioning DCL and it has been confirmed.

Hi! We're with you guys too!!

We had not heard anything about not having pirate night! The Pixar meet-and-greet sounds really exciting though!! We have two big questions, and we're wondering what your thoughts are: (1)Will people be dressing up like Pixar characters in lieu of Pirate Night? :) Seems like it might be fun... (2) Any word on the menus for this night? Will they be the same as Pirates, just with a different theme? (DD will be devastated... One of her favorite meals is the shrimp and scallops pasta and her VERY favorite dessert is the rum-soaked chocolate cake!! Without those two...)

Glad to be onboard with you all! :goodvibes

I read that the DCL rep had told someone that people are welcome to dress as Pixar characters if they would like.

From what I gather there is a special Taste of Alaska menu but don't know if that replaces the menu typically done on Pirate night or if it just replaces something else. I would think that it will replace the Pirates night menu but who knows at this point.

Hi everyone just spoke to DCL representative regarding our Champagne Tasting Event. Cost will remain at $20 per person even though they have increased it to $30 per person. They quoted me $20 per person back in Feb. so I was able to keep that price after reviewing her email she had sent me. Most likely the event will take place on June 9 sea day between 2-3pm in Sessions Lounge. I will need specific information number of people that plan to attend, your full name and reservation number. This information will be given to DCL. This event is open to all Adults male and female 21 years and older. Deadline for signing up for this event will be by Tue April 30. Space is limited. Please email me your specific information if possible. My email is TetraultMS@aol.com Thanks to everyone who has already sent their names and reservation number to me. I will keep everyone updated. Michelle

Hi everyone!

My partner and I are booked on this cruise and we cannot wait! We are flying into Vancouver the day before (from Orlando) and staying at the Tropicana Suit Hotel the night before the cruise. After we disembark we are renting a car and driving to Victoria to see the Buchart Gardens and will be returning to Vancouver the next day to sight-see until Thursday, when we fly home to Orlando.

Does anyone know if we can disembark the ship with carrying our own luggage? We are trying to get to the rental car company as quickly as possible and don't want to wait for our luggage to be called; we don't mind just carrying it ourselves. Is that possible in Vancouver?

Thanks! Can't wait to sail!

Hi!

So excited to be going on this cruise!!! My husband, two daughters (2) & (5), mother, & grandmother will be coming! We have a navigators veranda room.
We are from Southern Cali & will be flying into Vancouver Friday and will spend the weekend there before our cruise.

We have a whale watching boat trip booked with Harv and Marv (I think that's the name). I'm excited about that because it will just be our family on the boat!

As far as I know, yes. I'd just ask guest services first.

And hi to a fellow Orlandoian!

I was on the website tonight and they posted a "ship activity" for Friday night. 9:45-10:30 Pixar Party. It's getting closer!!!

Thanks, and hello to you as well! I will check with Guest services about disembarking with our own luggage. We've got so much planned post-cruise that I am almost as excited about that part as I am the cruise!

Hi all! I am making a "Roaming Gnome Mickey" magnet for our cruise. The purpose is to have this magnet go on as many doors and be signed by as many DIS members as possible. If you'd like to play, comment here or email me your stateroom number and last name. Ill make a list and maybe tape it to the back of the magnet and when you get it on your door, sign it and pass it to another person. Haven't quite figured out the logistics yet. Maybe I can print copies of the list an bring to the meet and greet..... Interest or suggestions???

Ooh! She'll be happy to hear that! I'll ask her how she'd like to be in touch. She can text w her iPod so she might prefer that. Is that an option for your Princess?

Does ur son do Google+? Texting & G+ is about the only way my son communicates with his friends these days! He does e-mail, too, though so I can see which he prefers. He is on FB, but I have been informed that "G+ is where it's at". :)

Awesome! I just sent a request to join this group on FB since that medium works much better for me. Hope to hear back soon!
