Tubes saved my middle DD too. The ear infections stopped, and finally her speech improved, as well as her moods. She had them re inserted once, and then when they fell out the second time, she did not need them anymore as she had outgrown the issue. :flower3:

Candace yay for your approaching trip!:cool1:

ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!!! :cool1:

Jeanette-have any of your kids had to have tubes yet? Both of my kids had them and were back to their regular selves within a couple of hours, so you shouldn't have to postpone! :goodvibes

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

sis I hope he doesn't need the tubes. They thought Daniel was going to need them, but decided he didn't.

My nebulizer treatments seem to be helping me a little now. It is much easier for me to breathe, and I am not yawning as often or gasping for air. I am going into work an hour later today for the heck of it. I called them earlier to let them know.

Dani glad your feeling better

So the additional 200 square feet wins over the Poly's convenience to the TTC and an actual bed for DD2 (as opposed to the inflatable toddler bed we will have for her)...right??

So, my oldest DD is in 3rd grade...she has always been light years ahead of everyone in her class in reading, math, etc....well, she had her standardized testing several months back and hers came back with Proficient with Distinction in all categories which is as high as you can get.

Well, we totally expected that as she has always been super smart. Our youngest DD is extremely smart too, but has always battled with shyness (sometimes crippling). Honestly, ever since she started gymnastics last fall, her shyness has melted away ten-fold and she is amazing in social settings now. Not quite as boisterous as our older one, but light years from where she was. Well, she had to go in and register for 1st grade (she is in private Kindergarten right now) and we really worry about how she'll adjust to the public school. Part of the entry into public school is actually taking a standardized test for your grade right off the bat....well, she went into that test...the adminstrator of the test came to get her...she hoppped up and skipped off with her with no shyness or anything...and guess what???? Out of 117 questions, she only got 2 wrong!!!!! Another Proficient with Distinction!!!!

I am sooooooo proud of her. And, the test lady said that she was doing so well, they decided to give her 60 bonus questions, which are above her grade level, which she happily answered and only got 6 wrong!!! The test lady said she was amazing! :goodvibes

I'm so proud of my little bambino. ::yes::

And, while I was at the school waiting for her testing to be done, I spoke with DD8 teacher to confirm she would have Mikayla complete all of her assignments before we leave on Thursday!!! :cool1:

Sorry for the rambling....all is goooooood!!!!

That is amazing Candace, you must just be so proud of them both! :goodvibes You and your DH have been doing something right that is for sure!

I can share a little bit of happiness too! I was preparing our good copy of our taxes as we are close to the deadline, and I noticed I made a mistake the first time! We are actually getting $1350 back!! Whoo Hooo!!:banana::banana: Not a whole lot of money but it sure beats paying!! Life is good!

Jeanette we had more storms last night me and my buddy on the couch together watching TV :)

I hope Brian does not need tubes but November and back to the Poly sounds like a good plan :thumbsup2
I actually chatted with my TA today, and even if he needs the tubes, no cancelling just yet :goodvibes Bree was not a happy camper with those storms last night either :crowded:

Nope..saved the best for last. DS12 almost needed them, our ENT is conservative so he waited. DS4 will also need adenoidectomy as well :crazy2: I'm nervous he won't comply with ear plugs:rolleyes2

He has significant hearing loss from the fluid, I know it's simple and he will be fine..but he's been through a lot

And Jeanette - DD had to have tubes back when she was a little over 1 year and they made ALL the difference! She was perfectly fine afterwards! :-)
Thanks, I just don't want him NOT to be able to swim:beach:

Same experience here. Both of my girls had their's done at 1 year old and neither one of them have had an ear infection since!!! (knock on wood)
:goodvibes

Yep! No more ear infections and she started walking finally.
He's only had one infection...just this darn hearing loss

sis I hope he doesn't need the tubes. They thought Daniel was going to need them, but decided he didn't.

Glad you're better sis. Take it easy

Spending money for Disney!!!! :cool1:

Jeanette: I think that sounds like a good split! We have not yet done Universal but it sounds amazingly fun, and your family loves it right? I totally understand your worry about your DS, and it just plain stinks to see them go through anything. Hugs.

Jeanette: That was the same with Miss M... the hearing loss thing, which would slowly fade away and then she'd get another infection. And the hearing loss would return. Anyway, since she's got the tubes, no problems at all with the swimming. That was my main fear too! We got her these neat little silicone molded ear plugs and a headband to go around her ears and she's not had any issues. I keep a set for the bathtub too. Let me know if you'd like the links to either.:goodvibes I loooooooooooove the sound of the new plan! I might have to visit the dark side sooner than later if this HP fascination keeps up. :hyper: ::yes::

Dani: Glad you're feeling a bit better. Hope it continues to do the trick. We just were given a nebulizer for Miss M but I haven't had to use it yet. Trying to get her to keep still for 20 minutes when she gets sick will be interesting. :crazy2:

MM: YEEEEEEEEEEEES! That is WONDERFUL! Heck, I'm proud of them too! :worship: Where's your countdown, by the way? I miss the big font countdowns. :rotfl2:

Jen: Woooooo, paid for those APs... that tax refund! :worship:

~~---------------------~~

Have any of you ever purchased your APs (well, the voucher) from the Disney Store? I went in today -- out of curiosity -- and asked the manager how many forms of payment can be applied toward the voucher and she told me 10. Got some Target gift cards burning a hole in my wallet... :lmao:

::yes:: meeeee too!

missoutandabout I would love to go to the F & W, one day. Can't get off work (school) then. So I'll have to live vicariously with your reports :).

It'll be our first time checking it out. I'm always drooling over the F&W pic threads on the restaurant forum! :lmao: It'll be strange not staying on that side though.

Janet and Miss - someday I will get to Universal so I can spend the day at Hogwarts! ;-) Rowling is definitely one of my favorite YA writers, and I would love to write something even half as good as she has.

Yes, me too! I'm relishing this new-found love of my kiddo for HP ... and secretly hoping it leads to a IoA trip one of these days. (She seems to love Roald Dahl as well -- he wrote his birthday in on our calendar.)

Just for you.....

7 MORE DAYS!!!!! :hyper:

At this time, next week, we will be at Logan Airport eating some dinner while we wait to board our plane!!!!!

DD gets her cast off tomorrow!! Woohoo!! That means she can finally have a normal bath again!

Jeanette Best of both worlds, I like the split too!

Anybody know of any good Orlando based photographers who do family pics on location at Disney? Tried to book a mini session with the photo pass people like we did last year, but their times/locations didn't really match up to what we have available right now. Unless I wanted pics at AofA. Sorry, but no...not really...

So I'm looking for other comparable options...

Yay, my tripod I ordered a few days ago from Amazon showed up.

It's a bit hefty, but it'll come in handy for shooting fireworks from the Poly beach.

I learned the hard way last time, it's next to impossible to get decent firework shots with a handheld DSLR.

I love my D700 but it is SO HEAVY lugging it around with my little ones. I am only bringing a 50mm 1.8 this trip! I'd love to use the 24-70 again but it's just too much.

I'm bringing a 35mm 1.8 and most likely the 17-55 2.8

Shouldn't be that bad, not as bad as when I carried around a 70-200 2.8, that was one heavy piece of glass, but it did take amazing photos.
