Oh the places We Go, The People We see

I really think I need to stop reading your report, because all it is doing is making me want to take a cruise! :rolleyes2 And that's just not an option right now!!!!!

I LOVE to take jet ski's out on the ocean. It's a different experience than lake water. I grew up on a lake and then moved to Gulf Coast for a few years (during my time in Master's Commission!) and we went out a few times on the jet skis there! I LOVE IT!

So, what I have learned today, is that I need to wait until my girls are BOTH 8, so they can enjoy the jet skis with me! ::yes::

I love all the photos from around the island. I so need to go again. The last time we have cruised out of Port Canaveral was in January 2011 and we were unable to dock at Castaway Cay. I had to laugh about the girls' ice cream creations.

You got some great pics of the Family Beach there, Jen. The area looks definitely different to Serenity Bay. Even the buffet is different. :rotfl2:

LOL, a razor blade, an onion and some soap! :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

And double LOL at throwing Claire's shells away! :rotfl: I need to try that when we go to Sanibel. We always bring home a huge batch of shells. We have bags and boxes of shells stuffed in closets and under sofas all over. And NOW you tell me all I had to do was just throw them back down when they're not looking! :lmao:

And the jet skis look like tons of fun. So glad it wasn't a problem bringing Claire along!

Gail is a real McGyver! :lmao:
Claire just thought every shell was beautiful, and many were NOT. A lot of peices and bits, so I did keep some, but I would throw off many more. She has not even looked at them but once since we got home and never questioned it. I mixed them with the ones from the trip before and they are all in a bag doing nothing. LOL
Claire felt like a very mature "8" year old that day. :thumbsup2

I can't remember...were ya'll on the "first beach"? We took the tram to the second stop because I had read that it was less busy and it certainly was. At least for a while it was. The story of the girls' leaning tower of ice cream cones had me giggling.

Like I said before, even with everything being brown, the island is still beautiful.

I think we ended up being on the 2nd beach. I can't remember for sure. I know on the first cruise we went to the 2nd one and I am pretty sure we were ther again as we were close to Cookies Too and thats near the 2nd beach.
The icecream was so funny. You would've laughed so hard if you saw the one Alexis made. Even she was laughing.

LOVE this shot. Love the framing and love the sun glistening on the watern.

Thanks. I do too and it was with my waterproof camera.

I have a feeling in the next few years you will be cruising. Well you could put them in the kids club for a bit too and you and Cory could go off and jet ski on your own! :thumbsup2

I have been lucky that both times we were able to dock. When the hurricane came through I had worried that the island would be out. I know it happens every so often, so I am glad we have made it.

I have heard from several people that the Serenity Bay food area is much better.

I love that your sister is so good at packing a bag. There is always something unusual in mine too ...... thinking of screwdrivers :rolleyes1

:rotfl2:

I alwys carry a screwdriver in my bag or purse. I have a friend that makes fun of me about it but it has come in handy more thatn once. :rolleyes1

Great shot of CC. LOVE the lifeguard stand shot-- I may have to
"borrow" that one for some work related flyers - Always looking for a great Lifeguard stand shot.

I wonder how long it will take for my staff to figure our it is Disney.... :lmao:

I really need to add a screwdriver to my packed bag. There are times where you really need one.

Yes, you can borrow it. If you want the bigger version, let me know and I can email it to you.

LOL, I actually keep a small screwdriver in the bag of electronic chargers, cords and stuff I usually take on vacation.

My light-up Mickey snowman I put in our window at Disney in December usually needs fresh batteries half way through the week. :)

I really need to get one to add. I used to have extras at home, but for some reason the man who has tons of tools spread out in several barns seems to have stolen all but one. I should take a look at the dollar store next time I go. I think I bought some there many years ago.

You mean you don't have tools that he knows nothing about? Jen, I thought you were smarter than that! ;) :lmao:

I don't know if you watch "The Middle" but it's my favorite show. There's an episode where Frankie finds out Mike has a secret stash of batteries. The stash that he never tells her about. Even if means she or one of the kids is having a big battery crisis.

So go buy yourself a screwdriver. And an extra pair of scissors. And next time he asks if you know where there's a screwdriver, repeat after me ........ "No, I sure don't."

I hope I have that episode of "The Middle" on DVR. All of a sudden, I feel like watching it again! :lmao:

I don't even know if I have ever heard of that show. And yes, I kept them kind of hidden but then there were times where he was fixing stuff in the house (those rare times) and asks for a tool and I give it to him and then they slowly disappear. I used to have like 3 hammers and 5 pliers...I have NONE now. So annoying.

It's on ABC Wednesday nights. It's a comedy about a frazzled mother with 3 kids. Gee, can't imagine what I see in that one! :rolleyes1

And here's your mistake...... not even on RARE occasions can you let anyone know about your secret tools/batteries/scissors.

And FWIW..... EVERY single time I have caved and let someone see my pull my scissors out of their latest super secret hiding place, I have regretted it. The problem of course then is that I have to go find a new super secret hiding place....... and I usually forget where it is! :rotfl:

I would say this is what am I looking for. Furthermore, we are going to have a vacation this coming week end and as of now, we are looking for the complete package including the itinerary and most importantly, the quality of the good services.

Hi. Welcome to the Dis.

i was a few pages behind, but wanted to chime in regarding your jet ski excursion. I love that excursion!! Being in land-locked lower ohio we try to ride jet skiis every chance we can get. The "Boys" took that excursion 2 trips ago and loved it. So our last cruise my wife, oldest son, and I were going to do it so she could experience it. However we booked it day 1 of our double dip and the winds were too high. When I asked on the ship about day 2 I was told the same that they were all booked up. I never even thought about checking at the rental place for openings on that 2nd day. However we did the stingray feed that day and not sure if grandma and grandpa would've let us explore the ocean while they watched our 2 littlest ones.. But now that I know to ask on the island if they're booked, I'll definitely keep that in mind!! I'd love to do that again, it was my favorite.

Definitely with you on the stingray feed. It was cool to do once, but don't have to do it again.. ;)

I never would've thought to ask on the island really either if they said it was booked on the ship. But I am now learning that the ship doesn't always know. LOL

It was a lot of fun and I am glad it worked out for us.

Jen, I am just stopping by to wish you safe travels and a fun time for your Williamsburg trip! Hope you are doing a trip report! :thumbsup2

Thanks Karin. I'll probably do one after this one is over. I am just not ready to tackle 2 at a time right now and I really want to enjoy writing this one up with out worrying about keeping up with the other. For me it was just too much last fall. I'll see how things go.

It was time to end my walk. I had actually thought about checking out Serenity Bay, but I figured I had been gone long enough and should get back to my Daughter.

The family had been having fun without me.

When I arrived back, my parents had gone back to the ship, and I think Gail had taken Abby back as well. Claire had been having a ball and did not miss me one bit.

Most of the gang wanted to go to Pelican Plunge, so we packed up our area and sent the girls off to get rinsed.

I chose not to go on the slides because that’s not my thing. They all got ready and the little ones got on life jackets.

It’s always exciting when you are going to do something fun with Uncle Geoff.

I stayed at the shoreline with the bags and tried to watch their progress, but it was really hard to see as the sun was shining right behind the slides and I was practically blinded.
I resorted to taking pictures around the area.

Every so often I would zoom in and see if I could tell if they were at the top yet.

I decided to get creative and take pictures of my footprints. I walked in the sand, then I made a big hop over to the side and came back and took the picture.
