Boma or 'Ohana?

Taking a very quick, last minute trip to the darkside next month but the day we arrive the parks close at 6pm for Gradbash, soooo I'd like to hit a Disney resort restaurant so we can get a bit of a Disney fix while we're there plus try out a new restaurant.

I KNOW it's strictly a matter of opinion, but that's why I'm asking, I want a lot of opinions. ::yes:: I was thinking possibly either Boma or 'Ohana...if given the choice, which would you choose? Why? But if neither of the above suit you, where would you choose? (no character dining)

ETA: It'll be myself, my mom, DD 16yo, DS 15yo & 7yo DS

Ohhhh I think your bigger problem will be getting Ohana ressie this late.. Both are excellent food choices though:)

I think if your 7 yo isn't too picky I would pick Boma. We absolutely love Boma, and our last experience there was wonderful. I find Ohana to be hit or miss. Also you will generally spend less time waiting to be seated at Boma than Ohana if that is important.

Haven't eaten at 'Ohana for awhile but we love Boma. We all like trying different foods, although to my mind there are plenty of options for the not so adventurous.

Boma is a buffet while at 'Ohana they bring food to the table, if that makes a difference given the ages of your kids.

While I loved Ohana's Bread Pudding the rest of the food to me was just ok, but I love Boma from starters to finishers...lol So I vote BOMA!!

I prefer 'Ohana over Boma, but both are great. My question is, are there any 'Ohana ADRs available for next month?

Thanks for the input so far, guys!

No, but I'm pretty diligent about continuing to check if need be. ;) But so far it seems like the majority says Boma.

My DS was 6 last time and loved it. It had a great selection of food. He enjoyed seeing the animals after dinner. He also loved Sanaa and watching the animals during dinner. He has requested to go back to both Boma and Sanaa on our upcoming trip. Ohana on the other hand was loud and chaotic. Food came round in a somewhat haphazard way.

I'd take Boma over ANYplace. The key is to take small amounts of lots of different dishes, and then get another serving of the ones you really like. (Also, the big key for saving your time is to realize you don't have to go back to the beginning of the line to the first station every time if you want food from a different station.)

If it were the 'Ohana of 2002/2003, it would be a tough choice, but I have not been thrilled with my more recent meals at 'Ohana.

Ohana. Here is my reason you can hop on the monorail for a quick spin, maybe catch wishes at the Poly beach. but you really can't go wrong with either choice.

Well we've stayed at the Poly and it's our fave but we never had any desire to eat at Ohanas.....the crowd milling around outside and general chaos was a turn off. Boma was busy but classy and the food was delicious..can't wait to eat there again in June!

Both are good. If you can get O'hana for dinner, I would choose that. If you end up at Boma it is good, too.....but it is not for picky eaters.

Like someone above said it might be hard to get into Ohana. This late but I would definitely pick that over Boma. I have been to Ohana a couple of times and love it, went to Boma once and didn't really care for it.

Definitely personal preference .... but my personal preference is 'Ohana by a long shot. I am not a buffet person and I just prefer the food at 'Ohanas.

We had a delicious meal at Boma's last year. This year it is back to Ohana. I hope we get a good server. I think they can make or break that meal.

Question for other Ohana diners, were you satisfied with the amount of meat they brought you? That was our disappointed last time. Our server went mia.:upsidedow
