A rabbi, a priest, and a pastor board the Wonder: we're back!

:cool1::cool1::cool1: I love a countdown!

Me too. :thumbsup2 We've got a countdown for days left of school which is 43. We've got a countdown to the girls seeing One Direction this summer which is 106. I'm hoping to add a *Disneyland for the holidays* countdown. :hyper:

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Whoo hooo!

Its silly but it passes the time. We once did a 400 day Mickey head countdown to WDW. We used the entire basement wall.

Not silly at all...I rarely plan trips that far in advance but I do have my countdown clock going right now on my work PC to count down for my May trip. :)

Your F&G trip is almost just 3 weeks away! :cool1: And I see your cruising for your 40th? What a wonderful way to celebrate.

Where are you staying during F&G?

I'm so excited! I need a vacation! ;) I'm staying at OKW in May.

I decided I wanted to eat at Remy for my 40th (somehow those hot French waiters make aging easier!) so I booked a 4 night in October and I'm filling out the week at AKV for F&W (waitlisted at BLT).

I agree, not silly at all. I have countdowns for all my vacations that are currently booked, one is 514 days away. I just like seeing them all :) I hope you get that DL ticker!

I love OKW! It's so peaceful and I love the pastel colors and theme. It's a great resort. :thumbsup2

Hot French waiters? I need to eat there too! That's going to be a blast! Where do you cruise out of and where are your ports? Will the cruise be before or after WDW in October?

:thumbsup2 I hope I get that ticker too. DH and I are discussing it. I can try for the GCV in May. I really need to add on there. In retrospect we should have bought there initially.

Where are you going in 514 days? I love seeing tickers too. I think I started one of my WDW trip reports at we'll over 500 days away. I guess it ended up to be more of a blog than pre-trip report.

Oh yeah, I love me some Remy now. :) I'm going to try to do both dinner and brunch. Dinner is the equivilant to V&A with both a French and American menu. The waiters are mostly French...I love the accent! I'm doing the 4 night on the Dream out of Port Canaveral with stops in Nassau and Castaway Cay. I am flying down on Saturday and the cruise leaves on Sunday. Since October in the Rockies is unpredictable and the time change, I always fly in the day before. I get off the cruise on Thursday and will be in WDW until I fly home on Sunday.

I'm so envious (in a good way), that sounds fantastic! Is Remy like Palo? It sounds even nicer. :cloud9: I haven't been to V&A but that also looks wonderful. Might have to try it on our next trip for just DH and myself.

Sounds like a great trip. It's smart to fly in the day before. That's what I'm planning to do when we cruise and fly into Miami a day early.

I just heard from a friend and she's headed to cruise to Mexico today on Carnival and forget her passport and birth certificate. I don't think they're going to allow her on. I'm getting DS a passport before the cruise. All the kids a getting them but he's the only who needs it as of now. ;)

Oh no about your friend! No, I don't think they'll let her go. I hope I'm wrong and they figure it out.

My 514 countdown is for my transatlantic cruise next September. :)

Remy is "fancier" and more of an experience than Palo (I love them both!). I think Remy was 7-8 courses and about 3 hours. Definitely a good thing for a romantic couples trip. :)

Your friend is in trouble. :( I wonder if someone can express her documents to her or was she supposed to board today?

I think you are smart to get the passport. Too many things can happen...plus its good to have it as identification. My wallet was stolen last fall and my passport was critical to getting my driver's license replaced quickly.

I hope you'll be able to add in a "Disneyland for the holidays" countdown too!:santa::cool1:

But, whether or not the holiday trip works out, I wanted to come over here and subscribe to this thread. I've peeked in on only a couple of DCL trip reports in the past - which is shameful on my part, as I think a few of my DIS-friends have taken cruises - but I don't think I've ever subscribed to one.

What's odd is that I had just signed in to the DIS to go to the Christmas Superthread and post some comments. I hadn't even commented yet. I saw your post and instantly clicked on the link in your signature to get to this Pre-TR so I could subscribe before I forgot. However, when I clicked on the link I was directed here but forced to sign in again. This is new. I could understand if I had signed in 10 minutes prior, but I had literally just signed in less than one minute earlier, and yet clicking the link to this Pre-TR required me to do it again. That should not be happening.

Anyway, here I am!:dance3:

:goodvibes and :welcome: I'm glad you're here.

Me too. :hyper: I cannot believe ow much the prices of APs have increased. They've doubled since the last time we had them. We have to get PAPs because the girls can't miss school. :( I miss the days of going off season. Crossing my fingers we can book the GCV during the busiest time of the year and pull off APs.

This will be our first cruise. :woohoo: Hope my report lives up to some of the others I've read. I know I'll be rebooking because that's what Gabby wants to do for graduation.

Remy sounds amazing and romantic. I'm not sure what ship we'll sail for Gabby's graduation or which itinerary but we'll do a nice long couple's dinner. Enjoy! I'm guessing its formal or semi?

I think she's in trouble too. I told her to have one of her kids fax her her bc when she gets to port but haven't heard back.

I agree and I've read horror stories about people not having them. Plus it's easier than carry multiple paper documents.

That sticks that your wallet was stollen. :headache: Did they catch the person?

Exactly! :woohoo: How's the packing coming?

I started packing when I unpacked from my WDW trip. I took my stuff that I didn't need for the cruise out and put my Fish Extender in. Today I really made progress, I packed my under panties! :lmao:

Will you be doing a TR? I can't wait to go to Remy, but I'm partially resisting sailing on the Dream or the Fantasy until we become Gold, so I have a better reservation window. We will be booking a cruise on our trip out of Galveston, and I have it narrowed down to a 5 night Wonder with a Double Dip at CC or a 4 night Dream, all in October 2014.

You know, you should always sign out of the DIS, and here is why. There have been instances in which certain DIS'ers ended up on the DIS...signed in as other DIS'ers!!!:scared1::scared1: Someone could end up signed in as YOU. It happened to at least 2 DIS'ers that I know of just last year - they thought they were signed in as themselves, only to look up at the upper right corner and see another person's name. One DIS'er even sent a private message or posted something as that other DIS'er before she realized what happened!:scared1:

And then It happened to me earlier this year! During awards season I noticed that there were discussion threads popping up for each of the major awards shows on the Just for Fun board. I was planning to join in on one of them. I found the thread first, before signing in. I clicked on it to be sure it was a current thread. It was. I went to the upper right screen to log in, only to see that I WAS logged in -- as some DIS'er I have never heard of in my life!!!!:scared1: Fortunately I caught it before posting anything and then signed out.

I just have a feeling that leaving your account 'open' by not signing out may be asking for trouble if there are little hiccups in the server or the system. Just think of how scary it could be if someone started sending private messages or posting crazy stuff -- while posing AS you!

In any case, signing out of one's account should not mean that clicking a link to a different thread will require signing in again only a few seconds later, so I think that is definitely a glitch!

I thought of you yesterday (which was part of the reason I wanted to subscribe to the thread) when I somehow stumbled upon an article (and subsequent comments) from December 2012 about Love Actually. I know that you are a big, big fan of that movie - as am I, of course - and as I read this person's ultra-negative review and some of the wacky observations made by the posters underneath it, I thought, "Did they even see the same movie that I saw?":rotfl2: Some of their interpretations of the things that happen in the movie were so far-fetched and misunderstood, and it seemed like the whole message or 'point' of the movie was lost on most of the folks who replied. I don't think they got it. I don't think they realized that the scene with the British guy in the Wisconsin bar was supposed to be goofy, exaggerated and over-the-top. Not only did many people say they disliked the movie, they labeled it as one of the worst holiday movies, ever!:furious:

So after that experience, I thought "I know I'm not the only one who gets that movie and sees what it is trying to accomplish. Jenny loves it too!":rotfl2: (Apparently, we Love Actually fans need to stick together because we're the only ones who 'got it'!:rotfl2:

You are not kidding about how much the AP prices have gone up. It's crazy business! It is really getting harder to justify having an AP because the prices are so crazy. I think they are going up again next month, too - and who knows how big of a price hike it will be this time (after last year's shocking increase)?

I hope you're able to snag the GCV for peak season! Stranger things have happened - I know that last year fellow DIS'er Liza/funatdisney managed to get one night at GCV on short notice (during the holiday season), when it appeared on the website and no one snapped it up. I am guessing it had been booked by someone at first, and then cancelled later. So it became available and no one got it, leaving it open for Liza.

Your under panties! :rotfl2:

How many cruises does it take to become Gold? I'm excited to book our second because we'll get a lanyard. :lmao: What dates are you looking at?

It sounds like a glitch. This site rarely has them though which makes me happy as I spend far too much time here.

I dod love that movie. It's one of my all time favorites. :cloud9: What were they saying? Was it a thread on this site? How can anyone not love that movie? Of course the Wisconsin scene was exaggerated as was the porn couple, it's a movie. :upsidedow I love the message. It always makes me smile and I cry at the end every single time.

So after that experience, I thought "I know I'm not the only one who gets that movie and sees what it is trying to accomplish. Jenny loves it too!":rotfl2: (Apparently, we Love Actually fans need to stick together because we're the only ones who 'got it'!:rotfl2:

:thumbsup2 DH likes it too now. He sort of put up with it but after seeing it so many times, it grew on him. He knows if I've had a long or bad work day that Love Actually will always cheer me up.

You are not kidding about how much the AP prices have gone up. It's crazy business! It is really getting harder to justify having an AP because the prices are so crazy. I think they are going up again next month, too - and who knows how big of a price hike it will be this time (after last year's shocking increase)?

I can't believe the price difference between the Deluxe and the Premium. :faint: Of course the week I'm looking at is literally the only blocked week. The girls have proven they are no longer able to miss school so off season trips are no longer a part of our reality.

Have you read rumors of an increase? I definitely want to buy vouchers before then. If we can't get the GCV then I will have to give a holiday trip some more though. Wait list or stay at the DLH on points or rent mine out and pay cash for the GHC or DLH? So many decisions.

I hope you're able to snag the GCV for peak season! Stranger things have happened - I know that last year fellow DIS'er Liza/funatdisney managed to get one night at GCV on short notice (during the holiday season), when it appeared on the website and no one snapped it up. She got so lucky. pixiedust: Good for her. I think I can book an hour earlier online than I can if I call. I'll be a mess on 5/22. :hyper: Did she love it? The GCH is so amazing during Christmastime. I love it and that overly mushy couch in the Hearthstone Lounge.

Nope...the police stopped looking because the online companies wouldn't cooperate. :( Luckily I got all the credit cards stopped before any real damage was done.

Jill in CO

I'm sorry, that's terrible. Why wouldn't they cooperate? Did you get the charges reversed?

I haven't heard back from her but I think you're right. This isn't a new rule so enforcement is easy.

I do hope she was able to figure it out. That would be heartbreaking. I must check my organizer at least five times before leaving the house that I have all the documents I need. Even if I just looked I look again.

Where does the transatlantic cruise stop? How long is that? I know I'm just going to love cruising with Disney.

It's a 14 night cruise starting in Barcelona and ending in Puerto Rico. Ports are Malaga Spain, Canary Islands, St John Antigua, St Maartan, and St Kitts, including 8 days at sea.

I agree, I'm sure you'll love cruising :)
