Thanksgiving OR Christmas?!

DH (23) & I (22) are trying to decide whether we should take our Disney vacation during Thanksgiving week or the week before Christmas!

Seeing the parks at Christmas has always been on my Bucket List, and if I am understanding correctly, MK and EPCOT start their festivities the day after Thanksgiving?

The difference in cost is minimal-but I may need to take 1 extra personal day from work if we go in Dec. (I am a teacher! :) So that's a pro for Thanksgiving.

We are just not sure not having been there during this season before if there is a difference in the magic?!

Thoughts? Experiences?

Thank you so much! We can't wait to book-either way!

i am going a couple of days before thanksgiving (mainly for black friday etc sales) me being in uk want much cheapness :rotfl:

I haven't been at Thanksgiving, but I've been several times the week BEFORE Christmas. We've always had a blast during the holidays because we get OUT of the World before the 25th. It is crazy busy during the Christmas holidays, but the week before is tolerable. Just go with reserved expectations on how many rides and attractions you can do. If you do that and plan really well, you'll have a great time. One suggestion is to take a day and just resort hop to see all the great decorations at the larger resorts. Its fun, relaxing and will put you in the holiday spirit.

We went Thanksgiving Week a few years ago from the Sat before to the Sat after and we had an amazing trip! We did not find the crowds too bad. The only thing about that week is there is no MVMCP and the MK tree does not go up until after the parade taping which is usually the first weekend of Dec.
