The Official October 2013 Trip Planning Thread

HI All
Just found this thread. We have been waiting months to figure out when in October 2013 we would be going. This will be a great trip for us as DW, DD (10) and I will be going with DD's best friend, also 10. This will be DD's best friend's first trip and we can't wait to see her light up when we arrive. We will be staying at POP. They will be staying at PORR. Our dates are set for Oct 30 - Nov 6.
This weekend we will ALL be getting together to figure out our schedule for parks and restaurants to be ready for our ADR's! :cool1:

I'm in :cool1: We are going Oct 19-26. We are staying at OKW 20-26th but not sure where we'll be on the 19th. I hope discount codes come out soon. Would really like to stay on-site that night. We have a evening flight and don't want to waste DVC points with a late check-in. So excited:cool1:

I hope this isn't too silly of a question but I'm subbed to 2 different Oct 13 threads and I want to make sure I'm on topic, the other one is in the Happy Dance section? Can anyone help me with the difference between the 2 threads, what is more appropriate to post on each? Thanks!

None really from what I can tell!

Just changed my Feb 14 trip to an Oct 2013.

Going to POFQ and bringing my mom along for a short F&W trip.

I think there may actually be 3 October threads. I found a 3rd planning thread the other day, then there's also the October Discount Watch thread, LOL! :rotfl: They all have similar discussions.

We're booked at POFQ Sept 28-Oct 6. Will be celebrating my 30th birthday (and boyfriend's first trip back to WDW since he was in high school. Got all of our ADRs done - got everything we wanted at pretty much the times we wanted. Just waiting for La Nouba tickets and MNSSHP tickets and we'll be about set other than flights.

Just got to share this asI am doing a serious happy dance!! :cool1:

After two months of research on hotels, I was at my wits' end! I could not find a good deal on a two bedroom with kitchen suite that was located near the park that was a)not sold out or b) not a million miles away from DL. Well I was telling my friend my predicament and she simply said "Well, why don't you use our timeshare?" And voilapixiedust: We now have a hotel. We are staying at the Worldmark Anaheim and got a great rate with my friend!!

Yes, it isn't Grand Californian, but still... it is WAY more than I thought we would get and I couldn't be more excited!!!! :drive:

Jumping in! We just booked BC CL for 10/28-11/1! It's to celebrate our one year wedding anniverary! So excited

I'm really hoping we can get a BOG reservation since now we'll be able to do the 180+10. Anyone have any trouble with that yet for you guys who are going earlier in the month?

Hoping for a discount... pixiedust:We are celebrating our 20 yr. Anniversary this Oct. Planning on being there 10/5 - 10/ 11. Definitely need to get some candy at MNSSHP. :cool1:

We bought our flight tix last night, so it's official! We will be at POP Oct 18-26! Hope to do MNSSHP on either the 20th or 22nd. Yay!

October 29-November 12 - Veteran WDW vacationers, but first time taking the AutoTrain! MNSSHP AND MVMCP! Me, DW, and 2 DD (13 and 10) :cool1:

Thinking about changing from Beach Club to CR or Poly but cant make up my mind!! It will be me:tinker: DH :goofy: DS (3 1/2):earboy2: Not much of a price difference between the two. I'm more interested in how easy it is to get to and from Magic Kingdom and Epcot, and which one has better bus transportation to and from Animal Kingdom or Hollywood.. :confused3 PLEASE HELP!!! Thank YOU

We will be at Hollywood Studios 10/6. We are hoping to go to the fantasmic show in the PM. I am looking for a good restaurant to go to. I haven't seen alot of good dinner options with Character Dining. We have 2 girls, age 7 and 4. Any suggestions...we want Table Svc for sure. Is there any restaurant outside the park that we can get to easily on the monorail or ferry that might be quick? Sorry...I haven't gotten to looking at all the transport stuff yet!

If keeping a sleeping DS in a stroller at the end of the day is an important factor, then Beach Club would have the bonus of being able to walk to both Epcot and DS. On the other hand, at 3.5 yrs., you might spend more of your vacation at MK. In which case, the easy walk to MK and the easy monorail (ride all in itself!) to Epcot makes the Poly a great place.

Personally, I'd say you can't loose with either location. When our kids were little, we stayed at Poly for the easy MK and Epcot transportation and the zero entry pool and little kid pool play area. We are saving BC for when the kids are a little older and can better appreciate the giant pool complex and will spend more time at Epcot and HS than MK.

The monorail does not run to DHS. Outside of DHS there is Cape May at the beach club, which is a short walk to DHS. I'm not sure if they have characters all day though. Inside DHS there is Hollywood and Vine.
