If you are nice and sincere they love you at the lounge. Dd18 was not happy when I called her to the food area :confused3 then CM told us of new universal studios Harry Potter ride . That will be like gringotts! A roller coaster awesome!

Tonight was chicken skewers, spring rolls and edamame salad ( that was so good I had 2)

Great that you posted this information:thumbsup2. It isn't on the first page is it? I'm going to save it for future reference.

Dd and I always do rope drops when traveling alone but we slept til 8am, hit the CsR business club lounge, bussed it to MK and took monorail to poly at 1130 to check in. We got our 3rd floor room request. Our Concierge Sam ( swear he said "Sam your super awesome man) was friendly and efficient so soon in our room.

First we checked out lounge area. WOW WOW WOW!! The view and the furnishings makes you want to stay forever!

We checked our room and the green is NOT too green , very cheerful. The bath looks crisp and clean.

Went to Kona Cafe for lunch then back to lounge to check it out.

I asked for a glass of wine and chatted with a family from the UK. The CM's cleaned up after them and brought more drinks like we were in a bar. I did not get the same service. I asked where to put my glass when done and was pointed to the appropriate area. Some people just don't get it.

Anyways I asked for water for dd and was given one for our room. While I was there the floor got vacuumed with one of those little quick broom things. Place was immaculate and just so pretty. I just had coffee and our luggage fom CSR arrived at 245. I am going to change and get a drink and sit in the lounge while lazy head still sleeps:rotfl2:. Is she sleeping beauty, or princess and the pea??? Why old mom not tired an a 18 is exhausted:confused3

Love the poly, glad I splurged with my dd 18 . I see moms with kids on laps and think "where did the time go???" I will try to check in tomorrow.
Trish

Well thanks to our Canadian Pooh Friends the Friday night offerings were all the same except no chicken, it was a crab ... I forget the name but it was it was in crispy shell and very tasty.

The lounge had no crowds , place was clean , people friendly. I did see bathing suits in the afternoon, but they grabbed and ran so wasn't bothersome. It may be me tomorrow since sun is finally coming out:)

Turndown service was nice. Dd had taken a nap and they remade bed and left chocolates on both beds, yum!

So far a 10+ , everything has been wonderful, worth every penny.

Really love the lounge space. So pretty and new to water. The decor is so poly!

Wanna be Ariel the Longboard Beer is still here! I got one and dd and I took a sip, ( or 2)yum!

Oh ya, I left our toothbrushes at CSR and called for some at concierge.i swear,I told dd to listen for door because I was going to sit in lounge while she finished her hair and I passed the person delivering them! Must have been 2 minutes from when I called. :goodvibes

For those of you planning, enjoy the waiting, soon you will be here too:)

Really am surprised how uncrowned lounge is. We slept in again and did breakfast at 845am. There were at least 6 tables and all of upstairs still available.

The water is now in a dispenser like the juice and milk comes in. They give you a carafe of water from the back room to take with you if needed.

Think last nights offering was crab Ragoon?

Breakfast looked similar to past. Choice of croissant or cinnamon roll or bagels.

If you like the special punch I did merlot with pog juice on ice and took to beach:cool1:

At 3pm our room not cleaned:(. Tracked down someone in hall for towels and posting this and now nap time.

Irv in the lounge is part time but so nice. Elderly gentle man with silver hair. Loves his job:thumbsup2

Last requests in now, I depart at 3am on Monday.

All of Hawaii is Concierge. Who told you it was in the Hawaii Longhouse? If you booked over the phone don't trust what the CM's tell you as most of us know more than they do.

Also, they can't tell you what building you will be in if you booked a regular room. If you booked Concierge then you will be in Hawaii. If you didn't, then you will be in a different building.

What's in bold is true.....a lot of CMs give out wrong information. As this poster said, you won't know what building you will be in until you get there, unless you book CL or a suite.

Hi all,

Is anyone aware of any major refurbishments/changes/construction occurring (or likely occurring) at the Poly in January 2014? We are considering staying either at the Poly or the GF during MLK weekend. Has the Poly recently undergone pool refurbishments that would make it unlikely that more work will be done within the next year, for example? I know that the room refurbishments are wrapping up, so am mostly concerned about exterior work (i.e. pools, GCH, DVC development, etc).

Thanks!

WOW. thank you! this is what we're looking for! what did you request? samoa/patio?

I requested Samoa, Ground Floor, Volcano Pool Side. I also noted on my reservation Room #1607( I know everyone says not to do that, but that is why I made the other 3 requests BEFORE the room #) I was given room #1606 :cool1: :cool1:

Construction on the Bungalows is slated to start this year. I suppose if it starts after the soft rehab is completed, it would extend into 2014.

Wow! I have clearly been away from the DIS too long. I just scoped out Tikiman's site and did not see any mention of bungalows on there. Guess this is a super recent announcement. Seems odd that they would only construct 20 bungalows, though? Maybe these will just be the super high end villas..?

Where exactly would the bungalows be located and have projected dates been announced yet? It seems hard to believe that work on the bungalows would not extend into 2014 even if they started work on them today. Any chance work on the bungalows might not happen until post-January 2014?

Thanks so much for the info. :)

Does anyone know what is on the room service menu? I would like to eat lunch at least once at Kona Cafe but I would rather have room service if Kona's menu is available for that. TIA

We are staying at the Polynesian Club Level for our next trip. I hope we like it!! By the sounds of it we will!! Although I'm not sure I'll like any of the food they offer in the evening :( but I know my husband will!! :)

Looks like we may bump into each other! We will be there in 82 days and staying for 10 glorious nights. Ahhhhh.:worship:

Did you take advantage of the itinerary planning? We did and got all the restaurants we wanted at times we wanted. They were so awesome.

Here it is: http://allears.net/menu/men_polr.htm

I'd love to hear some reviews from people who've done room service at the Poly (and pics too if you have them!) since my husband and I plan to order from there probably more than once on our Aug trip.
