Current Referral Reward?

We just got our Share the Magic letter from a family member's purchase back in February. It's been a few years since our last referral, and they don't have much info online about the program. Anyone know what the current Level 1 reward is? Just curious what to expect.

We have a trip in 3 weeks, but since I can't select my reward online and have to mail something in, I'm guessing I probably wouldn't get a Disney gift card in time.

As far as I know, DVC is not offering any rewards for referrals and hasn't been for years. I've referred several people in the last 3-4 years and all I received was a thank you letter. Prior to that I received gift cards. I know there was always an issue with some states not allowing any rewards to be paid for referrals. However, I have not moved during this time and as far as I know, nothing has changed in the laws of my state.

There used to be a page on the member website that allowed you to see what the rewards were at each level. That's been gone for years as well.

So I believe Disney has just decided a letter will suffice as your "reward."

The level 1 reward is $200. If you look at the small print at the bottom of the redemption form, it is listed there.

We just got one, too, for a referral in February. I was surprised that it did not show up in either DW or my login page. The last time we did a referral, we received an e-mail and it was attached to only my login. It was several weeks later that we received the redemption certificate.

I am not sure why it takes them up to 7 weeks to send the reward. They should be able to turn it around in less than a week. It is also a pain that a signature is required to receive the reward.

Interesting - I have not received a redemption form or any other indication of rewards with the letters from any of my last few referrals. I wonder if something did change in Colorado and they're not able to pay us here anymore.

My friend asked us to give her as our referral when we called last week. The guide indicated that there would be a reward for them but because there were multiple people on the deed (her parents bought in and have each of their grown children listed as owners on the account) they'd have to "fight it out" among them as to which one actually got it ;)

I had no idea what it would be...I wonder how it will work since her parents are in Michigan where they can't get them - will that cancel it out for the rest of the group who no longer live there?

I've seen the page just recently. The letter we got for our one referral did not mention the gift card. I had to go specifically to that page to check and request redemption Have you checked the page when you get the letters?

We have five owners on the deed, four in Michigan and one in Colorado....they wouldn't give the reward to any of us....:confused3

You're right, the Sharing the Magic Redemption page is very obvious on the new site! I am absolutely positive that I looked for it several times in the last few years (every time I got a letter) and I could never find it on the old site. I had previously redeemed online, but it was like the page just disappeared.

According to the terms and conditions page, Colorado does qualify for rewards. There's also a redemption history page. The last redemption we had was in 2009. I have a feeling we had some referrals after that which never got redeemed and ended up expiring. :(
