So we have finally decided (for now)....we are going to do a week stay (instead of splitting off and onsite) and are going to splurge for TPV!!!! I am soooooo excited!! Garden wing is enticing and I might still change my mind if no discounts are released. But as soon as I can book a package I am doing it!!!!

soooo excited. 2014 cant come soon enough!!

Finally. Finally. FINALLY!
Friday I got confirmation on our two BR Lake view reservation for Jan 10-Jan 18.

:woohoo: Love those confirms!!!!

Congrats on booking.....and I hope a discount comes your way :wizard:.

:yay:

I am really excited about the space of the 1BR but a little conflicted about not staying in the tower. We absolutely LOVED our TPV in Feb!!! I booked a LV for now, I would love TPV but since I am already pushing the trip cost with a 1BR and I cannot justify TPV as well. Having stayed BLV in the tower I know I will be okay with LV and be able to enjoy my morning coffee with that wonderful serene view.

Now we wait :hourglass

DH and I stayed 1BD BLT Oct 12 and then CL Feb 13. I would definitely vote BLT over CL. Even though we also didn't use the kitchen that much...the extra room, two bathrooms and washer and dryer are great!

I agree (and there was NO cookin' during our trip either lol)!!:thumbsup2

Yay yay!!! :cool1: You will LOVE it!!! AND not having to pack/unpack halfway thru your trip.....PRICELESS!!!:thumbsup2

That makes me feel better about my choice! We stayed CL in Dec and it was definitely nice, but I think the space will outweigh it for sure. Especially since this will be a week long stay and not just a long weekend.

We can!!! When are you going again?? We won;t be going till February 22, 2014!!! REALLY hoping the same discount we got this year will be out! we paid 35% off Poly for our first onsite stay and are hooked! I really want to go again while all my girls still believe in all of the magic. My oldest is starting to question if the princesses are real because of kids at school and I want to splurge for one last time while she still really truly believes in all of it!!! It has always been my dream to stay at the CR so I am soooo excited!!

Yeah, we had a 37% AP disc for our CR TPV this past Feb, I dont think I'll get as good of a discount at BLT but I am hoping for at least 20%.

We are going Feb 1-8, so I am right there waiting until Oct/Nov for the discounts

Yay for TPV and a week onsite  . New rates usually come out in August, but the last year or two they have come out as early as June/July...so hopefully you can book your package soon :).

I'm having the same thoughts about a regular TPV or BLV CL room vs a MKV CL room. I really want to give CL a try AND get a MKV :rolleyes1.....but the MKV CL is really pricey and I just can't justify going that high. But this will be our first CR stay so I'm sure we'll be happy no matter which room we choose :goodvibes.

Our first onsite stay was at a mod (CBR), which we loved, but once we tried a deluxe we were hooked and haven't stayed anything else since. The deluxes can get pricey, but with discounts they can also be very doable :thumbsup2. I hope a discount comes your way :wizard:.

Sending some pixie dust your way for good discounts for February pixiedust:.

We stayed BLV CL in Dec and then reg TPV in Feb (CL was closed for constructions). BLV CL was much more expensive than my TPV room, but that was because of how the rate seasons fell. Dec is just an expensive time to go.

BLV CL is honestly the best of both worlds! KOOK says it all the time and she is not wrong. We were able to watch the EWP at night on the balcony and I got to enjoy quiet mornings over looking Bay Lake with my coffee :coffee: We would go to the CL for Wishes, could even watch them from the hallway, we were the second to last room closest to the MK so it was a great view. The CL is so convenient in the morning and grabbing sacks and drinks when you return from the parks. We even brought dinner up from Contempo Cafe one night and had the lounge basically to ourselves.

With that said, we had a TPV room in Feb. We had originally booked BLV again, but a couple weeks before our trip a TPV room with AP discount opened up and was only $35/nt more than our BLV room. My kids were in love with the view, and I have to admit I was too. I would sit outside at night once the kids were asleep and just look at the MK all lit up, as well as GF wedding gazebo. DH and I were outside late one night and decided that we really felt like we were still in the parks and engrossed in the Disney magic on that balcony.

We did not miss CL as much because I brought drinks and snacks with us. We has also recently learned that DS is allergic to wheat which would make the CL offerings very difficult for him.

You honestly cant go wrong with anything you choose at CR :)

I don't know how I missed this....no I don't mind at all. Our average per night was $330. Weekends being higher than weekdays of course.

That is awesome thank you...we paid 309 for poly garden view this year so that isn't much more for TPV!!!! I can't wait. We are going with in laws and I jokinly said the rooms for both of us will be 700 per night and my FIL said okay...I was stunned!! but yahoo!!!!

This thread is awesome!!! YOu guys are amazing and have made me so excited about this stay!!!

Now my next question...which restaurant at CR is the best??

Easy. California Grill. I'll be curious about the menu after the refurb, but they had a great steak. They also had a sushi menu.

Thank you :goodvibes. I keep thinking about KOOK's suggestion about BLV CL.....I think you're both right about it being the best of both worlds :thumbsup2. As much as I would love to sit on my own balcony and watch wishes or just stare at the MK, I'm thinking it would be just as nice doing that from the lounge. Our boys aren't little anymore so getting back to the room early isn't a concern of ours....they are 18 and (almost) 20, so they will probably be running around the resort or parks later than DH and I :rotfl: :rotfl:. We are going in December and the rates are pretty high, so I'm hoping there is some sort of discount to take the cost down a little. Thanks again for your input......I haven't booked yet, but I'm getting more excited every day learning everything I can about staying at the CR :wizard:.

Really wish it would be open for our August trip, but it sounds like it won't be until the end of August or into September even.

Now my next question...which restaurant at CR is the best??

I would say Calli Grill, but I haven't eaten there. We didn't have time in Dec and in Feb it was closed for construction. But the reviews are always great!

We don't eat at Chef Mickey because DS is on the Autism spectrum and cant handle the noise and singing. We ate at The Wave for the first time in Feb and were thrilled with all our meals (2 breakfast, 1 dinner). My kiddos have food allergies so I have to plan ahead and had heard that Chef Dave was amazing with food allergies and he was! The food is great, the atmosphere is so relaxed, and in terms of convenience, well, cant be beat!

We also had great meals at Contempo Cafe. They have much more than your average QS and it all cooked to order. We found that it does take a bit longer than other QS locations, but it is worth it.

I agree what the Wave for breakfast is very good. We also will do CM breakfast for character interaction, but we try to avoid the dinner for the noise and darkness in the restaurant.

Darkness?? Is it noisier at night? We have a 6:30 ADR on our arrival day at CM.

The darkness is due to the windows. CR is a beautiful resort with all the windows, but once the sun sets, it gets really dark inside. They do have lights inside, but it seemed to be a lot darker to me. At 6:30, you will still have sunlight. We had an ADR after 8:00 PM. As for the noise, i think there are more people there at night, either riding monorail, in Outer Rim Bar, Contempo for dinner, etc. When we stay at BLT, we will start the vacation with breakfast at CM or Wave.
