WBPC May 6th 2013 Wonder

I'm starting to "think" about packing...gotta start sometime. I noticed the schedule in one of the first posts. Looks like two formal nights, one semi-formal night. Are we pretty sure about this? I almost never get dressed up, so I look forward to looking a little nicer on the cruise. Since the 7-nights generally have one formal and one semi-, I wondered if maybe we'd have two of each.

Anybody know?

The first formal night is the first sea day and the second formal night is Cabo day. The Semi formal is the day after the canal.

Is anyone using a pre booked car service from the port to DL? Any recommendations?

Also, am I right that with SAS shuttles from Fort Lauderdale airport to Miami you just phone when you arrive and don't make a reservation?

I have used SAS to get to the Miami port several times, both from FLL and from a hotel in the Ft Lauderdale area (where I can park my car for the whole trip, if we drove there).

It says on their website that phone reservations are not accepted. So, you need to fill out the form on the SAS website - www.ridesas.com - and you will receive a reply very quickly telling you when, and the number, to call when you are ready for pickup. When we are picked up at a hotel, it is at a pre-arranged time. From FLL, since you would have given them your flight number, they will know when they should expect your call. We have never had to wait long.

Guess I am lucky. The hotel I am staying at in FLL has a fee shuttle. Then I am getting a car and dropping it off at MIA. Then it looks like they have a free shuttle to the port. So no need to arrange any type of shuttles.

Thank you Marilyn. I think I saw the fact that they didn't accept phone reservations to mean no pre reservations for some reason. I will certainly do as you said, it will be another tick off my long list.

What days are the standard rotationals again? I know you'd posted it before... but either I can't find it, or I'm too lazy to do a real search...

....probably the latter.

Can anyone tell me the cost of the Disney transfer to DisneyLand at the end of our cruise? Does anyone know other options besides renting a car to get there? Is there an equivalent of SAS in FL in CA? Anyone?

There is Super Shuttle and Karmel Shuttle that I know of. Disney transfer is $30, I think....not positive of that price.

Karmel Shuttle has been very helpful to me, always on time or before time. I've never had to stress if they'd show up.

Attended the "Kindergarten wedding" today and then looked at 9 houses. I am dead.

Please count me (Sharon)in for Champagne girls meet! This is the only time that I am remotely sad that we are not on one of the new ships. I had a peach bellini at Pink on the Dream that was to die for. I guess, I'll have to make do with some plain bubbly. :) Darn, poor me (oh wait, not at all!). Four weeks til fun!

So, I know that purchases onboard can be made through the Key to the World card... and that's great, as I intend on having very little in my pockets!

However, for purchasing alcohol onboard, will I also need to bring my photo ID around with me? Or is there indication on the Key to the World card that I'm 21+?

They have the letter "A" printed on your Key to the World Card if your over 21.

Another question re SAS shuttles. I looked again on their website but saw that they don't accept reservations for after 6pm. We are supposed to land at 5.29 so I don't think we would make that with bag collections and probable delay.

Does anyone have a name of a car transfer service instead for Fort Lauderdale Airport to Miami South Beach? I think Brixton has one booked. Other than that would just a taxi outside the airport do? I prefer to have something booked really though sometimes that doesn't always work out.

Been AWOL for a while. Got our docs about a week ago and it's finally beginning to feel like spring around here so I guess I'll start pulling out some warm weather clothes.

In February for the Fantasy, we didn't get our VGT stateroom assignment until 11 days out so it will probably be a while. If you've never done GT before, once you get it, just remember to write your stateroom number on all your luggage tags.

Happy weekend everyone!

The CHAMPAGNE GIRLS meet is now CLOSED.

There's been a great response! But since we're having an informal meet in a public space and NOT an official champagne tasting that is organized by DCL for a fee, we need to keep it to a reasonable number.

If you have posted on the thread or PMed me and are not on the list, please PM me ASAP. Here's the FINAL list of 27 Champagne Girls:

Vakamalua (1)
Megatron (1)
GoinPlaces63 (2)
Brixton (1)
Lexa (1)
Mom323 (1)

NOTE:

--We'll meet the second day at sea (Day 4, May 9) at 3:00 pm in the Promenade Lounge. I've asked DCL if anything is scheduled in the PL at that time but they couldn't tell me; I'll check when I board.

--Please PM me first name(s) and stateroom number(s) of those attending in case of any changes.

--We'll just individually order from the bar (doesn't have to be champagne or even an alcoholic drink). Being a CG is a 'state of mind,' not what you drink.

--Keep the CG tradition going by getting your PINK on! Be sure to wear pink and a pink feather boa and a tiara. (Check out Party City, Michael's, Total Crafts, etc. for an inexpensive boa and tiara.)

--Bring your camera for some great pictures.

Looking forward to meeting all you lovely ladies! princess:
