Paying with gift card bought at Target

I used 46 gift cards to pay off my balance the day before my PIF. I called and made sure first I could use that many & the CM put me on hold, came back & said no problem. So I went & bought them & then put them all in online. No problems!
:thumbsup2

Our Sam's has the $50 gift card for $48 plus change, the $25 gift card is is $24 and change - both less than 5% off.
At Target with Target's credit card or debit card (the red cards), the $50 card is 47.50 and the $25 card is 23.75.

It can save some money, but I was not impressed with the privacy statement on their website about who all they share your personal information with.

I haven't used that many, but last time I went I used about 20 to pay for my room. I had no issues and I didn't pay all at once, I would get $100-200 and make a payment on the room as the trip approached. Another option you have is ordering Disney gift cards online from the Disney Store, and using the gift cards to pay for larger gift cards. I think you can get $200 gift cards from them, maybe even higher amounts, so you can go online, buy a $200 gift card, pay for it with 4 $50 gift cards, and consolidate them that way.

I tried to do this and was told I could not purchase gift cards with gift cards.

stacking the two discounts at Target, I paid just over $45 for each $50 GC.

As far as combining them at Disney Store, I don't think they let you buy a GC with a GC.

oh, and when i've ordered from Disney Store online in the past you could only enter one GC per order...any more and you had to call to do it over the phone.

Yes we had to do this as well. It was so annoying. They required a credit card number and then it charged tha card but they reversed it after calling and took the additional gift cards. What a pain.

I am in utter shock!!! All of you are geniuses!!!:worship: I am speechles and if you knew me that would be saying something:rotfl2:

Oh now I'm super excited. I just saw the Target add this week and for the month of April for every prescription you fill you get 2 points and with 5 you get an extra 5% off shopping day. Well we already know we need two scripts and I could always refill my sons eyedrops early and then 10% off our Disney cards!

It's not super convenient for us to get to for scripts on a normal basis, but worthwhile just for this opportunity. I still need about $4,000 in cards lol.

Where do you payoff online now? Im going nuts trying to find out the link. Been looking for a while and can't find it. Not under My Reservations. Not even going through the link from my original reservation email.

This new system stinks.

After reading many of the posts, I am considering buying the gift cards at Target to pay off the trip. Our balance is $3000 so it would be a savings of $150. Does anyone know how many cards you go buy at a time? Also, I am a little nervous about if something happened I had to cancel. If I am reading right, the money goes back on a card, so I guess we could book for another time. I have never had to cancel but you just never know.

I just purchased five $100 Disney gift cards at BJ's and got them at 4% off! Room and tix are already paid for, so I am paying for meals and incidentals with the GC's.:cool1:

i bought 62 GCs in my first trip to Target (savings of around $300). I used those to pay for my entire trip (airfare, room, tickets). I returned later in the day and purchased an additional 28 GCs (savings around $135) for food, photo pass and spending money. If you are using the Target Debit Card, I believe there is a spending limit per day and it's dependent on a few factors, including how long you've had the card. I used my target visa and just paid off what we spent so we had no limit other than my card limit.

oh, and those were all $50 GCS...$3100 worth in my first trip, $1400 in my second. The target cashiers were curious, but didn't give me any hassle about the number of them!

I would be using the Target Debit card. I have had the card for a year, but I have never used the card. My 45 day mark is around April 24, so I guess I would need to start purchasing.

We stack our Target red card 5% and our pharmacy rewards 5% to get 10% off all of our Disney cards for our trip. Easy peasy way to save on our trip!

Their website says receive 5% off a day of Target shopping after filling five eligible prescriptions. I wish I had 5 to fill!

You don't have to fill them all at once. I moved one prescription for both my husband and I to Target. It is inconvenient and not good for 'important' prescriptions since they don't have an online account to 'monitor' things. But with having 2 prescriptions at Target I can get a 5% coupon every 3 months and this month with the double points per prescription I will get another one after this month since filling our two prescriptions will be like filling 4 and I already had one 'left over' from the last 3 months. If you only had one prescription to fill it would take you 5 months to get a coupon but if you are saving over a long period of time it would be worth it. :)
