CLUB LEVEL, DISNEY CRUISE, AND CASTLE FUN!!!!!

HI DIS FRIENDS!!!

We're back from 10 days of fun in the sand and sun!! We had the most amazing vacation and can't wait to start planning another one soon but before I get into the report, how about some intros?!

CAST:

DSC02017.jpg

Me (Megan)~ I'm a newly 28 teacher from the Orlando area. I work at Disney seasonally and love everything Disney! I just took my first cruise (Disney of course!) and loved every second of it!

DBF (Jerry)~ 32yr old from TN whom I met off Disboards. He works at a college in TN, has an AP for Disney, and took his second cruise (we won't mention the cruise line he took last summer!)

Post Cruise..
Dbro (Craig), Dbro's gf (Kylie), Mom, and Dad

DETAILS:

March 23-24: Poly Club Level (with DDP)
March 24-28: Disney Dream Cruise
March 28-31: Port Orleans French Quarter (without DDP)

As a disclaimer..I took sooo many pics the first half of the trip and by the time we got to POFQ the pics decreased dramatically (Sorry in advance!)

HOPE YOU ENJOY!!!!!!!!!

PARADISE AND CLUB LEVEL!!!

Welcome to my trip report!!! Hope you enjoy and if there's any questions along the way, please don't hesitate to ask! I'm so glad I went on my first cruise and so happy that my first cruise is also over..now we know some tips and tricks for the future!!!

But before we get to the ship of dreams lets start at the beginning!

March 22, 2013

Today was Friday and the kids at school had a half day. I stuck around till 2 to finish cleaning and prepping the classroom for the break and busted out of there with a smile on my face!

I went home, cleaned my apt, packed, and got my nails done! DBF landed at 8:15pm and we went to Flippers for a late pizza dinner before crashing at my apt around midnight.

The whole trip seemed to be stages of excitement beyond control! My first stage of excitement was sharing Poly and Poly Club Level with DBF for his first time! I did manage to sleep some but was still excited!

March 23, 2013

I woke up bright and early at 7am to get ready to check into Poly at 7am.

Before I went to bed, I was toying with the idea of taking my macbook to load pics daily (mainly as a camera back-up) and decided against that and found that Target had the adapter to load my camera pics onto my iPad (less weight!)

I got ready and while DBF was getting ready I snapped some pics showing I'm ready to go!

Yes! A ton of bags but 9 nights and 10 days..I needed stuff. I needed stuff for before the cruise, the cruise and after the cruise!

A shot at my nails!

DSC01575-1.jpg

I was very glad I got the solar gel put on my fingers bc it makes the polish last so much longer! They still look pretty great nearly 2 weeks later!

By 8:45am were were in the car and headed for the Poly by way of Target first. I got my iPad adapter and we were on our way!

FINALLY!

The cars in front of us were also checking in! We pulled up to the front to unload some bags and the CL CM's met us out front. DBF parked the car and of we went to Hawaii!

We checked in with CM Tom and were given a tour of the lounge. We were given a first floor garden room but asked for 3rd floor (which is what I had requested). He made the magic for our one night stay and we got the 3rd floor which was not ready in their sold out building.

We got our keys, my birthday button, and leis and off to CL breakfast we went!

EGG HUNT AND POOL TIME!!!

MAR 23, 2013

When I left off, we were on the monorail headed to Epcot so DBF could get his new AP with the chip inside of it.

I was a nervous wreck bc when he got the pass in Feb, there was a huge mix-up wit the gift card I tried to purchase towards his pass and long story short, 1.5 hours later he got an AP for only $200 but the CM did an override and made his pass a FL Res. (to save money on his end?) I was a nervous wreck that his pass wouldn't match his TN license!!!

We got to Epcot and went to center by Mexico to get his new pass. We were literally in there less than 5 mins and within a min he had his new pass, tested it at the door, and we were out. I worried for nothing!

Since our room wasn't ready we checked out some flowers.

A dad at my school helped design this and it turned out great IMO.

I found where the Dole Whip adult dessert was and had to get one. DBF got one too!

DSC01603-1.jpg

The adult portion was of course at the bottom and not as much as I thought you'd get. Oh well!!

We were looking through the shop next to it and saw the info about the Egg Hunt and decided to do it!

You had to go through the countries and find an egg in each one then put the sticker on the paper. At the end you got two key chains. It was fun!

DSC01627-1.jpg

While in Germany, I wanted to use a snack for the caramel corn but sadly it ended up going to waste as we didn't think we could take it on the ship and by tthe time we got back it was yucky! What a waste lol.

DSC01626.jpg

By the time we were done with the egg hunt, we were tired and it was getting hot. We agreed on Capt Cooks for lunch and hitched a ride back on our monorail!

I got the turkey club with cupcake and water. DBF got the chicken (or maybe burger?) mickey bar and powerade

DSC01606-1.jpg

DSC01605.jpg

After lunch we were pretty much praying the room would be ready as it was pushing 2pm and we didn't get a text. We stopped at the lobby and they were able to see the room was ready and we headed off to Hawaii!

Overall, we thought the new room colors were great. The bathroom reminds me of the CR with a Poly flare. The couch was awful and your legs stuck to it when wearing shorts! I enjoyed the older one better. The bed was great and most are changing over to those new down comforters with the white cover. I believe WL now has them same as CR and CSR. The random towel holder was odd too haha.

After semi unpacking, we decided to hit the pool as it was still warm out and I wanted to get more sun before the cruise! It was busy but we found chairs on the sand. They were not wristbanding the guests which caught me by surprise since they do it in the summer and it was busy spring break.
DSC01629-1.jpg

DSC01630-1.jpg

It was nice to be able to bring drinks from the lounge to the pool!! It was spitting rain off and on but I still got some sun!

When we got back to the room there was a surprise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UP NEXT: A ROOM SURPRISE AND KONA DINNER!

Now....now I have to stay at Poly CL....never have but those rooms are lovely...I miss WDW. If you get a chance when you get to the cruise section there are a ton of us that would like to see your Navigators...ok not a ton but at least 20 of us getting ready to head out on the Dream in 10 days.

I've heard that some DISers take their own mini-bottle of something or other to make those adult Dole Whips a little more adulty.

The Easter Egg hunt looks like a lot of fun:goodvibes

That is cool you got keychains at the end.

Your room looked very nice :goodvibes

Yes, you need to try Poly CL..everyone should!!

I didn't scan my navigators but I do still have them. I'm not sure if taking pics of them would help?? Let me know and I can try or is there something specific that you wanted to know and I can look it up for you. Let me know!!

Thanks!

Great start to your TR! Looking forward to the cruise portion!

Thanks!

Please hurry up and post more of your trip report! I need to know what the surprise is!!

I'll be updating after I eat dinner. I have to work at WDW tomorrow and since I'm in food and bev, I can't have nail polish/acrylic nails so I had to give up those tonight and take the beads out of my hair to be in Disney Look for 10am tomorrow but I'll be back in a bit to post!

CLUB LEVEL SURPRISE AND KONA DINNER!!

MAR 23, 2013

When I left off, DBF and I were heading from the Volcano pool to our room to prepare for the evening CL snacks and dinner at Kona. I had planned the dinner for 7:10 so that we could enjoy the snacks around 5 and still be back for dessert between 8-10. You have to experience it all and to think the CM on the phone with me when I upgraded the room to CL had the nerve to say that we didn't need the extra food before a cruise...I honestly couldn't believe it and yes it was a lot of food before a cruise plus the DDP but we needed to eat lunch that wasn't CL and dinner too (although the Poly CL food could be made into dinner assuming you like the food.)

When we got back to the room we had a surprise!

DSC01633-1.jpg

It was a shame we couldn't finish the chocolate or even keep it. What we ate was delicious!

My brother and his gf stopped by before we went for dinner and he took pics of the room/lounge for the site. We enjoyed snacks in the lounge before dinner.

DSC01634-1.jpg

DSC01636.jpg

We also drank several adult beverages. The mixed drink adult beverage was my fav...it even had the guava juice that they serve at Kona and Ohana for the dinner snacks and in the adult beverage!

We said our goodbyes to bro and his gf as he finished pics and we headed to dinner at Kona.

Both DBF and I got the same thing..pot stickers, steak, and kona cone.

I didn't care for the sauce on the sticky rice but the rest was great!

We paid and got ready for fireworks! Caught the end of the light parade.

IMG_1670.jpg

We got window seats in the lounge and got ready for the show. I loaded pics for the day on my ipad and we got what was left of the desserts and drinks.

I truly love wishes from the CL lounge! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to be there for the 3rd, 4th of July or New Years Eve! That's now on my bucket list.

After Wishes, we went back to the room to find we got turn-down service!

DSC01656.jpg

I took bites of my dessert and a few sips of my adult juice and began the task of repacking for the cruise!
DSC01658.jpg

I must have repacked 3 or 4 times before all was said and done. I really wanted to have just what I needed so I didn't over pack but of course I did...now I know haha. 3 outfits a day on a cruise is not needed!!!

After debating to not going to Capt Cooks to fill our mugs (although DBF really wanted to just bc it's open 24/7) we decided against it...or at least I had and he didn't go either lol.

We finally went to bed around midnight and I'm so glad I actually slept for about 5hours!!!! I had a tough time getting to sleep but after 2 rounds of my musical Disney album on my iPod, I finally fell asleep.

MAR 24, 2013

CRUISE DAY!!!!!!!!

The alarm went off bright and early at 6:45am which is not a huge deal since I get up at 6:30 m-f anyways! I jumped out of bed and got showered..and tried to repack AGAIN!

Our plan was to leave at 9am to head for the port..would we?!!!

After we got ready we headed to the lounge for breakfast.

DSC01660.jpg

DSC01661.jpg

It was not a very magical weather day!!

DSC01662.jpg

I can't believe how much they have done on the GF tower from when we stayed there in Jan!

DSC01663.jpg

DSC01665.jpg

After breakfast we packed up our last min items and debated on whether to call to get our bags taken to the car but we decided to just to carry our own.

We stopped in the lobby gift shop so DBF could buy a snack mix with his snack credit and we took a pic.
DSC01668.jpg

DSC01667.jpg

We loaded the car and headed for the port at 9:15am..only 15 mins past our planned departure time! Not too bad!!!!!!!

FINALLY VACATION FOR REAL WAS BEGINNING!!!!

UP NEXT: PARKING GARAGE NIGHTMARES, PEOPLE EVERYWHERE, AND WHAT BOARDING NUMBER DID WE GET??!!!

I didn't scan my navigators but I do still have them. I'm not sure if taking pics of them would help?? Let me know and I can try or is there something specific that you wanted to know and I can look it up for you. Let me know!!

>>>>>>

I think a lot of us just want to see what some of the current activities schedules are. I love information so anything recent I'm a glutton for. ;). Whatever you can share, pics/scans, I would love.

You're so lucky to have someone who loves Disney like you do...my husband doesn't like crowds or gift shops and was a total party pooper when we went to WDW in 2011. I'm hoping now that we have a little one he will see the magic. Looking forward to more.
