For the most part, people using the lounge pick up after themselves. Unfortunately it's been our experience that there are a few people who tend to be slobs and think the CMs are there to clean up after them. We encountered this mess our trip last October. We even asked the person if they were going to clean up after themselves and she made some excuse that she was unsure if the other people at her table (who had already left) were coming back to clean it up, then promptly left herself. She was quite embarrassed that someone actually had the nerve to call her on it, but still never bothered to clean up. :furious:

Our experience over the past 5 stays has been yes they do replenish.

Not sure as we don't use the lounge during the morning offerings, but you could always grab something and head back to your room. :confused3

Yes, you get people heading to and from the pool wearing just bathing suits. I've also seen people (and done it myself when in a room close to the lounge) with no shoes in the lounge - or just wearing their PJs. Bottom line is it's not a restaurant.
Thank you, Cdn Friends of Pooh! I appreciate your honest answers. Do they still have trash cans at the KKC? Some CLs have removed them and expect the CMs to keep up with bussing the tables or guests can precariously stack their dishes on a small tray. One CL was told to remove their trash can, but brought it back by popular demand:thumbsup2

I hope you have a great vacation! Are you staying CL again?

I am at CSR now but transfer tomorrow to Poly CL. It's my 1st at poly club so I will have difficulty comparing the old vs new. The pics on tikiman Facebook look awesome. I love the new carpet, and chair coverings! Anything specific you are looking for let me know. Wanna be Ariel has me checking for beer:thumbsup2.

Major storms rolling through right now.... Glad we got up early and got in the parks!

Would love to hear about the food offerings in the lounge. Tx have a great trip.

Yes, this table was next to the kids area with the TV - about 10 steps away from the trash.

He posted this today on FB...

"Well I see the cat is partly out of the bag with some information getting out about DVC. The report mentioned 20 bungalows (more like Tahitian huts) built out over the water at the Polynesian and it would start this year. Well from what I heard it was 15 Grand Villas off the shore of Tahiti and it would not be part of the initial phase of DVC but a later phase. If it is true they are starting this year (which I don't know I believe) then maybe it is just to prep the under water foundations. I guess we will find out since Disney does not announce schedules very often. That is all the DVC details I can share at this point but save up your money if you want to get into one of those."

:cool1:
I have been wanting DVC at the Poly!!! We LOVE the Poly but we desparately want a separate room for the kids. We find the 1 BDR villas to be perfect for our family and the price is acceptable to us (where the Poly suite is too much).

I think the over the water bungalows are a great idea too. We stayed in one in the real Tahiti for our honeymoon and this will be a great addition to the Poly. Hoping for more family suites/2+ room rentals for the Poly. I just hope the price is not a ridiculous amount ;)

Hello,

Can anyone give me any opinions on the pool side cabanas. Are they worth it? Is there one in particular I should request? Thanks!

Love the cabanas! I posted pics on page 128 at this link:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=47662470#post47662470

We prefer Mauna Kea over Mauna Loa although both are great! As others have stated, you can not request the location for the regular cabanas in advance but you can request it when you arrive (IF you are first there and no one else is in either cabana).

I have seen people leave messes in other CL lounges and it really irritates me....it's not that hard to throw your trash away . I have also seen guests in bathing suits running back and forth from the pool :rolleyes1.

I have read about the trash cans being removed from some lounges and I'm glad they were brought back because I don't agree with the CMs being expected to clean up after everyone. Like Cdn Friends of Pooh said, it's not a restaurant :sad2:.

Here is my shameless ticker post! I am so excited that Samoa is finished. I need ALL of your good vibes... so that we will get Samoa room requests. I have had a doooooozy of a week. My mom's condo building burned down and we have been running around in circles getting her settled before we leave. She will be in a temporary apartment for at least 6 months. I think I am almost done with everything. Looking forward to a tropical cocktail when I check in. MUCH NEEDED :)

Dd and I always do rope drops when traveling alone but we slept til 8am, hit the CsR business club lounge, bussed it to MK and took monorail to poly at 1130 to check in. We got our 3rd floor room request. Our Concierge Sam ( swear he said "Sam your super awesome man) was friendly and efficient so soon in our room.

First we checked out lounge area. WOW WOW WOW!! The view and the furnishings makes you want to stay forever!

We checked our room and the green is NOT too green , very cheerful. The bath looks crisp and clean.

Went to Kona Cafe for lunch then back to lounge to check it out.

I asked for a glass of wine and chatted with a family from the UK. The CM's cleaned up after them and brought more drinks like we were in a bar. I did not get the same service. I asked where to put my glass when done and was pointed to the appropriate area. Some people just don't get it.

Anyways I asked for water for dd and was given one for our room. While I was there the floor got vacuumed with one of those little quick broom things. Place was immaculate and just so pretty. I just had coffee and our luggage fom CSR arrived at 245. I am going to change and get a drink and sit in the lounge while lazy head still sleeps:rotfl2:. Is she sleeping beauty, or princess and the pea??? Why old mom not tired an a 18 is exhausted:confused3

Love the poly, glad I splurged with my dd 18 . I see moms with kids on laps and think "where did the time go???" I will try to check in tomorrow.

Sounds like a great start to your poly stay!!! Can't wait to hear more! Enjoy!!!

I hope you have a great trip and love both resorts. Even though the Poly is our favorite out of all the deluxes we've stayed at, AKL is awesome as well (as is the WL :goodvibes).

Thank you! That's good to hear.

Thanks for the detailed post! What type of water did they give you? (Besides being wet? ;) hehehehe) Dasani small bottles? Big bottles? Thanks!

Well thanks to our Canadian Pooh Friends the Friday night offerings were all the same except no chicken, it was a crab ... I forget the name but it was it was in crispy shell and very tasty.

The lounge had no crowds , place was clean , people friendly. I did see bathing suits in the afternoon, but they grabbed and ran so wasn't bothersome. It may be me tomorrow since sun is finally coming out:)

Turndown service was nice. Dd had taken a nap and they remade bed and left chocolates on both beds, yum!

So far a 10+ , everything has been wonderful, worth every penny.

Really love the lounge space. So pretty and new to water. The decor is so poly!

Wanna be Ariel the Longboard Beer is still here! I got one and dd and I took a sip, ( or 2)yum!

Oh ya, I left our toothbrushes at CSR and called for some at concierge.i swear,I told dd to listen for door because I was going to sit in lounge while she finished her hair and I passed the person delivering them! Must have been 2 minutes from when I called. :goodvibes

For those of you planning, enjoy the waiting, soon you will be here too:)

Trishadono- I'm glad to hear they have the Longboard Lager too! I love that stuff! Thanks for the great update!
