May the Fourth be with us! Magic 5/4/2013

We just returned from our week long cruise on the Fantasy. We had a great time but DS, DH and I all came back sick! In fact, at one point, I was questioning whether or not I wanted to go on this cruise as it ended so miserably. But after getting mostly better and able to eat and drink, we are ready to give it another try. If it had been our first cruise, not so sure we'd be so willing to cruise so quickly again. I sure hope this one ends up on a much better note!

We are really looking forward to cruising on the Magic again. While we loved the Fantasy, DH and I prefer the smaller ships.

As far as the FE, can we get someone that is NOT planning on upgrading to keep a dry erase/notepad outside their door where we can post changes? DH and I booked a GTY inside and ended up inside but we really want to upgrade to a balcony once we check in. Our Fantasy was our first balcony and now we know why people are willing to pay more :goodvibes

Dittos on the preference to smaller ships and verandahs. :thumbsup2

I will not be upgrading at the port and plan to keep a dry erase / notepad attached to my cabin door (via magnets). Last time I coordinated an FE group, I used this approach plus made copies of FE list and ship maps available (for those that forgot to print before cruise). Also, if you leave a message on my cabin phone (61541 or 61542), I will update the schedule. :artist:

Hopefully, others did not get sick on your cruse. DCL is pretty good about sanitization and preventing transfer of germs.

We sail in 7 weeks! :cool1:

Great! THANKS!!!

When we took DS to the doctor (he was the first to get sick) the doc stated that he had already seen quite a few cases of the virus. However, our DD didn't get it neither did anyone in the other two parties we were with and no one else has mentioned it on our thread. Yes, DCL does do good and they offer free medical visits, medication, and water/powerade to those that do get the virus. But unfortunately, there will still be those that feel the need to ignore the rules and not quarantine themselves and infect others :-(

we just booked the Disney Magic cruise leaving on May 4th and would like to join the FE list. i hope it is not too late. thanks!

Has anyone booked any excursions for Cayman and Cozumel? Did you book through DCL or private company? We are booked on the Stingray City excursion through Moby Dick tours. It's getting close!!!:hyper:

We booked the shipwreck snuba for Cayman. For Cozumel, we're going to Nachi Cocom. It gets rave reviews on here and on tripadvisor.

We are so excited too! Even though we just returned 3 weeks ago from the Fantasy, we didn't get to relax much. Looking forward to a week of relaxation with my honey (kids will be at home with Papaw!)

Booked thru DCL to visit Stingray City in GC and kayak/snorkel adventure in Cayman.

In one month our adveture begins!

Thanks for the responses!! We are booked on the Catamaran snorkel tour for Cozumel which we booked through DCL. I figured if we booked through DCL we are more likely to be booked with families versus partying singles. We'll see. Either way we are very excited!

My family and I just booked this cruise on yesterday! This will be out first Disney cruise and we are sooooo excited!!! :woohoo:

We have booked VGT - can anyone tell me the pros/cons of this option? We really wanted a Verandah stateroom and this was the least expensive option.

Also - what are some good excursions for our 4 year old daughter?

Any tips, suggestions, or help would be most appreciated!!

Going on this cruise. This is our first disney crusie. Any suggestions??

Welcome pirate: My main suggestion: Just relax and don't try to do everything! We've been on 3 Disney cruises (29 nights total) and still haven't done everything :goodvibes

Welcome to you too pirate: !

Although I've never cruised on a VGT rate, I think it's a great deal! We just can't book last minute like that. I would think the only con would be you can't pick your own cabin and will end up in whatever verandah stateroom Disney needs to fill. But I have read about people getting great rooms! I definitely don't think it means you'll get a bad room or location. :goodvibes And of course, main pro is the price!

Can't help on the excursions part. Although we've cruise with our son at that age, it wasn't these ports.

But make sure to get her signed up for the kids club! Our son has always loved them :) And if she's into the princesses and other characters, check the navigators (the daily list of activities) so you know where to meet them. The princess lines can get long quick so make sure to line up early if she really wants to meet them. If she likes to dress up in princess costumes, many little girls wear them to dinner princess:
