Disney's ALL-STAR SPORTS RESORT Information & Questions

Would love to see Photos soon of the remodeled rooms! We have one 12 yr old DS and I am sure he would love the chance to stay at Sports!

We just got back from our 10 day stay at all star resorts. We were in Baseball 8 which was newly refurbished. When we were leaving (March 4/5)... they were redo'ing football 7, all the mattresses were out, the whole building looked like they were being redone all at the same time.

And the main pool was open the whole time we were there. (feb 23-march 5)... they were supposed to close it to refurbish it on Feb 25th?... but it was open the whole time. We used it 3 times, as at the end of our trip, it was getting pretty chilly.

Love the resort, and we will be staying there again!

That's weird because we stayed in building 7 in February and our room was already done.

So it seems like there is a good possibility all the buildings will be refurbished by our trip in 2.5 months? Can anyone tell me if the Center Court or Hoops Hotel buildings are closest to Stadium Hall?

Can anyone tell me if there is a mirror on the bathroom door? I wanted to take an over the door shoe holder for toiletries - but wanted to make sure it wouldn't cover up a mirror. TIA!!

Just got back from our first time staying at Sports and we LOVED it!

It was adorably themed, the pools were great, loved the pool side movies and the food court was nice.

We shared the buses one time and I loved how we were picked up first!

Would definitely stay here again.

We're having our first stay at ASSp the end of the month. Will the rooms be big enough? There will be 5 of us, the kids are 7, 5, and almost 2 (he'll be in a pack n play). We typically only sleep in the room and aren't at the resort for anything else so aren't in the room long...but it just makes me nervous! This is the first time bringing the youngest with us as he stayed with my parents before.

pixiedust:Hello MorganK. When me and the DW took our then 4 DD and 2 DD, we still had fun although you may not ride the bigger rides but it'll still be enjoyable. The rooms are big enough for all 5 of you, just make sure you get a room with 2 Queen beds, for you and the DH and 2 DS and you'll have your pack n' play so no worries. Have a Magical Day and let us know how it went. We are going back in August but our 2 DD's are older now, 7 & 5, so we'll get to ride more than before. :cool1:

I don't think they have rooms with queen beds, just two doubles or one king. That being said, I think the room will be big enough for them to be comfortable, there will be room for the pack and play by the window. I had heard so much about how small the rooms were and I was pleasantly surprised with the size. It wasn't even close to being the smallest hotel room I've stayed in. I had stayed at Coranado on a previous trip and to me the room at sports "felt" the same size because, although the room is smaller, everything else is scaled down too, smaller beds, smaller table and tv unit, etc.

The rooms are 260 square feet. It will be a little tight but not too bad. I wouldn't want to try it for much more than a week...and yeah, there are no queen beds at ASSp.

Our September trip was initially booked at POR, but DS6 decided he wanted to stay at ASSp instead. At first I was sad because I'd LOVE to stay at POR, but I'm excited to stay here. Our family LOVES sports, so I think we'll love it! :)

I know it's best to call to add room requests to my reservation, but I was wondering if anyone had recent experience with online check-in for All-Star Sports?

What kinds (if any) room or location request choices are available to select?

For comparison at Pop Century, selection examples include ground floor or the different themed sections. Does ASSp have anything like that during online check-in?

:confused3 Hey JCarWash, It's been 2 years since we've been and we're going again this year and staying All Star Sports but if you do Online Check-In, I don't think you get to choose which location you can request. My only input is, if you want a Particular Location, like Homerun or Touchdown, for example, you'll have to call a CSR and ask for a Particular area. Other than that, they give what ever is available, if you do Online Check-In:confused3:thumbsup2:wizard: Hope that helps and I hope I'm correct. Have a Magical Day.

We just returned from 4 nights at Sports. I had heard many negative things about the All-Star resorts over the years, but I'm happy to say we had a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. We had connecting rooms in Bldg 1 Surf's Up - 1 King and 2 Doubles - and it was wonderful for us. We were on 3rd floor and had a great view of the pool with all the palm trees, and it was just a couple minutes to the food court and drink stations and bus stop.

ETA: Our room was not refurbished, and the wifi was AWFUL.

I can post some photos of the HA bathroom tomorrow.
