Wishes Dessert Party ADR Watch Thread # 2 - September 2013 OPEN!!!

Just booked May 3rd. Agent told me these reservations had been opened up 180 days ago. What???

Half the time (made up statistic), the website doesn't work, and the other half, the CMs are completely without a clue. I don't like being negative, but it's no fun trying to book anything...hotel, dining, tickets...all of it. I bought Cirque tickets with a Disney Visa discount, and they never arrived. Called a couple of times looking for them and CMs kept telling me not to worry, they will come. Finally got a CM who bothered to look, and they were mailed a month and a half ago. Lost in the mail.

I'm hoping for the Fourth of July dessert party!! Anybody ever been to it for the fourth? I'm assuming I just need to be super quick when July opens up!! :thumbsup2

We've been before on July 3. I've posted it on the DIS before, and I'll post it again...BEST.DISNEY.DECISION.I'VE.EVER.MADE!!! Seriously, the MK was absolutely insane, like almost scary, dangerous, insane. We were SO glad to have that private terrace area to relax and enjoy ourselves! :thumbsup2

This is EXACTLY why I want the dessert party for the fourth of july. It will be a nice break from the INSANE day that I am fully expecting. Do you have any tips on how to get a table?? So far my plan is to stalk this thread and have the disney dining number on speed dial. :coffee:

Also, when checking to see if a month has opened up yet, has everyone been checking online or calling? Not sure which one will be better since I know the disney website can be unreliable sometimes (or most times).

I reallllyyyyy want July 4th (for obvious reasons) so as soon as June is released I'm going to be checking like a crazy person. :upsidedow

I had pretty good luck for the last 2 months just checking the website and watching this thread closely. For April I watched the thread and knew within minutes when it opened (practice for me, I wanted May). Earlier this week I was trying the website repeatedly hoping it would open April 1 and it did, it was posted on this thread within minutes. I'd say subscribe here mid-May and watch closely. (That means email notifications and opening the thread every time you get notified so the notification continues.)

I haven't called for any ADR's, I'm an online person and really haven't had any issues using the site. Its slow at times, but if you are on the restaurant page already I think its easy to repeatedly search for the date you want until a time pops up.

This thread and online are your best options :thumbsup2 Normally, we are posting about getting reservations for hours before any CMs on the phone are even 'aware' that it's open. The good news is that we are all so obsessive about checking you'll know asap and have a greater advantage than the Joe Schmo who's not on the DIS, thus allowing you a good chance of getting your date :)

I check online few times a day (I am going in June) and I am subscribed to this thread. The reason I check more than once a day is because they have no rhyme or reason as to when they open reservations. I have seen it early in the morning, around 10am and after 1pm. So I check first thing in the morning in case they opened over night, 10:15a or so and sometime in the late afternoon if I think of it.

Last year we booked our June 17th reservation on March 27th. I just have a weird feeling they could open up June any day now even though they have opened reservations on the 1st of the previous month for the last couple of months.

I have a shortcut set on my computer that goes directly to the Dessert Party reservation page.

You guys are the best! The good news is, if the first of the month trend does continue, I am going to be on vacation through June 5th, so ill be free to check the boards and the website alllllll day ::yes::

Wow! They let that guy move his chair up there? Every time we've gone they've been SUPER strict about not taking chairs anywhere near the railing.

We will be there on the 4th and I'm trying to book this as well. I will stalk this thread with you!

Yes, that's my husband actually! Haha! This picture was taken after wishes though. On the night that we went they showed the projection show twice( once before wishes and once after). We missed most of the first show and decided to watch the second one. After wishes was over everyone left and we literally had the entire patio to ourselves for the second show! It was amazing!!

Wow! Is that basically the view that everyone gets at the dessert party? Or are the tables several "rows" deep? I'm on the fence on doing the party (first and likely only trip coming in June. DH, DD8, and me...)

I don't like to have to be aggressive to get a good view, so this intrigues me... But I don't want to pay $$ and then still have to be extra territorial for DD to see Tink fly...

Help! ;)

The concensus on this thread is that the earlier you make your reservation, the closer your table is to the front. You won't have to fight for a table -- They are assigned beforehand. Your name will be on your table when you walk in. And, you and your daughter can always stand at the rail to get a great view of Tinkerbell, if your table isn't right up front!

I would definitely recommend doing the party if DD wants to see Tinkerbell. She basically flies right over your head when you are at the dessert party.

My DD and I did the dessert party last year for the first time and I will absolutely keep doing it. I hate the whole process of jockeying for position to get a good view. Going to the dessert party completely eliminates that and as a bonus you get to eat AMAZING desserts for an hour!!

I can vouch for this theory :thumbsup2 No sooner did March ressies open up, I booked one...And I was completely shocked when we saw where our table was! My first thought was that the DISboards were right...the earliest bookings get the best tables!!! I will definitely be doing this again. During wishes people did stand at the rail infront of our table, so we too, had to stand up, but the view is great and I have never seen tinkerbell so clear :lovestruc
