For those who may not know us….

Samantha

I’m Sam, I’m 20 years old but act like a child. My parents raised me on Disney so they are to be blamed for my horrible Disney obsession (Which I’m totally grateful for!). I am an early education major who is counting down the days to apply for the WDWCP (Fall2014 hopeful!). On my free time I enjoy planning Disney trips. I also spend most of my day talking Disney, dreaming Disney, disney, disney, disney!!!

Brittany

Brittany is my Disney best friend who is also 20. We go to school together (also an early childhood education major), when I found out she was a Disney nerd like me, I befriended her right away! At times I believe we are the same person. She is ALWAYS down for a Disney trip because…well…YOLO! Her love for Disney started at a very young age so she understands what its like to have an obsession with Disney. She is also a WDWCP Fall2014 hopeful

Alicia

Alicia is my beautiful 23-year-old sister. She is living the dream as a Disney Princess and is currently finishing up her DCP. Disney was a big part of her life growing up and she has always dreamed of working for Disney. So she is there to stay, as she would say “Adventure is out there!” Out of all our siblings I would say Alicia and me are the closest, so any chance I get to visit her I take!

Andy

Andy or what we like to call him Randy, is Alicia’s fiancé. He is a 21-year-old, college student, letting Alicia live out her dream as he finishes up his education back home. I give them props for their long distance relationship, so anytime a Disney trip is being planned he is always excited. I am happy to say that he loves Disney. The downfall is that he was never interested in being crazy with us on this trip. It’s okay though next trip we will make him dance!

Now that we have met everyone it’s time for some trip details!

The Week Leading Up to YOLO!

March 4, 2013

Our trip was right around the corner, all we had was one more week left of class then it was spring break, more importantly DISNEY!!!

During our break in between classes we decided to check out airfare. Why are we looking at airfare 6 days before we leave? Good question. Airfare for this time of year was ridiculously high because of spring breaks and some of you may know that I only get it when it’s cheap. So we had decided to just rode trip it to Disney. The idea was not very appealing to any of us but it was cheaper and we are going to Disney so it was ok. Well Brittany’s parents were not a fan at all, mine were ok with it but they would rather us fly. So we checked EVERYDAY for airfare in hopes to find something and have the rents feel better about this trip.

So when I was suppose to be getting my Calculus ll homework done, I decided to check out airfare prices. Unfortunately the odds were not in our favor. That night when I got home from school I got multiple texts from Brittany saying that her mother would give us her points for flights. After a long night of texts and calling we officially had flights and didn’t have to drive! This was such a relief since I didn’t want to be stuck in the car for 4 days.

Friday March 8, 2013

This was originally the day before we planned on leaving but since we didn’t have to spend 2 days driving we would be leaving Sunday morning. Nothing to exciting happened; I packed and went to class. Later that night I went over to Brittany’s where she had some outfits planned but had yet to actually pack. We went to one of her friends from dance schools musical. We’ve been going for the past 2 years now so it’s become tradition. This year they did Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat.

Our original plan was to go back to her house, pack, go back to my house and get ready to leave the next morning bright and early, but there was no need for that.

Saturday March 9, 2013

The day before DISNEY WORLD! Another pretty chill day, I spent my afternoon at dance then came home and made sure I had everything I needed. My Saturday nights are normally boring, my parents play cards with my mothers sister and brother which takes place at my aunts home most of the time, so its just me and my brother home. Before they left I asked them to stop at my sisters house because I needed her flip video because mine was missing.

Brittany texted me saying that she would be over at about 8:30 because she still needed to pack. As I waited I decided that I would update my previous trip report and try to get that finished. While doing that I decided to watch You Again because it was on ABC Family. At around 8:30 I got a text from Brittany saying that she went out to dinner with her parents and that she was on the way home to pack now.

The next movie on was When in Rome, it was close to 10-10:30 and I could feel my eyelids getting heavier, I was ready for bed! The rents got home asked where Brittany was, late as usual no surprise. Then Pa gave me Danielle’s flip and told me “I plugged it into your aunts computer and it doesn’t turn on” Just what I wanted to hear. Luckily I knew that those things take FOREVER to charge if you don’t use it often.

At 11 Brittany’s parents dropped her off. She told me that since she was late she bought Wreck-it Ralph to make up for it. For those of you who don’t know I AM OBSESSED with that movie! While it started I reminded Brittany that tonight was spring forward and that we would be losing an hour of sleep. Brittany was out cold shortly after. I stayed up to watch them build her car then was out cold.

Sunday March 10, 2013 DISNEY DAY!!!!

The alarm went off at 5:30, prior to this Pa was up getting ready for work. Before he left he told us to have a fun time in Disney World. What a precious man, he understands my love for Disney whenever I ask “who wants to go to Disney” he is always the one to answer.

Anyways Brittany hit the snooze button. Shortly after here comes Gramma banging every dish, closing every cupboard. Then proceeds to ask “When are you guys suppose to be up?” the Rents and gma where worried our alarms would get messed up because of the time change, but smart phones are smart.

I decided since I’m up to get a move on things, by 6 I was ready to go. Brittany was still relaxing on the couch. I was running around my living room like a child. I was ready to run a marathon! Brittany got up and got moving. Andy arrived at 6:45 and Gramma drove us to the airport. As we were about to leave Brittany realized that she forgot to bring her disney pull string bag. No worries! I ran upstairs to my room and grabbed her my extra one.

To the airport we go!

omg I am so excited for this and totally hoping that Alicia is still there in 53 days when I get there :thumbsup2

Making Our Way Back Home

After a 5 minute ride to the airport, we said goodbye to Gramma and we made our way inside. We didn’t have to check our luggage because we all packed our stuff in carry-ons (We weren’t feeling the $25 charge for our bags) Before we went through security we found the nearest bench and started to unpack our liquids. I had to pull out my laptop and our boarding passes.

We made it through security with no problems, now we only had about a half hour till we started boarding. We headed to our gate where pretty much all the seats were taken so we opted to sit on the floor.

At this time Brittany and I switched roles. She asked if we could go walk around, but I was too much of a lazy bum to get off my butt

She ended up just running around in the small area, weaving in between people. We’re children…. :rotfl:

Then it was time to start boarding! Brittany woke up early the day before and got our seats. Front row for us, get on first get off first I like it!

As we were loading we had to put all of us stuff in the overhead compartments because we didn’t have a row in front of us to store our carry ons. As we were doing so this father behind us got all crabby and said “the longer it takes for you to put your luggage away the longer it will take for us to board.” This made Brittany real mad, and by mad she turned towards me and said “haven’t you heard of the words excuse me?” It was getting real in here!

So we got all settled and were ready for take off. Nothing to exciting took place on this flight. I tried to finish my reading for my one classes. To bad my eyes were getting heavy, I put my headphones in and passed out! Literally all 3 of us were out cold.

We had a lay over in Charlotte, North Carolina. (which I thought was funny because that’s where we were planning on stopping our first day if we would have drove) Nothing to exciting happened here. We found our gate, then Brittany and I went exploring.
Because we didn’t eat breakfast this morning we decided to go find some food. Brittany also wasn’t feeling that well so we were on the hunt to find some medicine.

Brittany found some cinnabon and picked up a little packet of Dayquil which was outrageously priced

I found a burger king and was just going to get some French fries but at 10:30 in the morning all they serve is breakfast. So I opted for a big slice of Sabaros pizza. Brittany was on top of things and remembered to take a food pic, I did not….

Soon it was time to board the plane for Orlando! This flight we were all split up, but we were all in the front 2 rows so it wasn’t horrible. As we were loading onto the plane we had to store our luggage all the way in the middle of the plane. We knew at that moment that it was going to be a struggle getting off.

Brittany just creeping on me, it's what friends do :rotfl:

nothing to exciting happened on this flight, since we were all split up. So I rested my eyes and soon we were arriving to ORLANDO!!!

Getting off was a chore, we had to wait for maybe 9 rows to clear out so we could run to the emergency exit space and grab our luggage from the overhead compartments. But we got our luggage and were ready to get on the ME.

We went to side B, down to flights of escalators and saw this beauty

Because we got our flights so late we had to check in and get our vouchers for the bus. Normally I make someone else do the talking but only in Disney will I do the talking. The lady was really nice and was glad that we had all the information ready for her.

We got our vouchers and got in line for a Mickey bus!

The saddest part of the day… we got a stupid Mears bus. I am not a fan of that! This would not ruin my excitement for Disney though. As long as I get there I will be happy.

On our way there Alicia texted me saying that she checked in. I was a little mad she did because we were all suppose to be surprised about what room we got. It was ok though because we played the guess our room game. She first sent me a picture of our view, which was the laundry carts and told me we were on the fourth floor.

After guessing she wouldn’t tell me if I was right or not so that was lame. She also told me how she was a little bummed about the room, and how it wasn’t what she expected. My last photo was a picture of a small section from the bedspread.

We were almost on Disney property when I told Brittany that AoA is the first stop. Andy did not believe this and said Pop was. But on our January trip I could have sworn AoA was first because I wanted to get off there. So we passed under that beautiful arch. That’s when I saw Pop century, I was so ashamed that I got it wrong. Just kidding we did get dropped off first!

As we were waiting for our luggage Alicia popped out of nowhere! Like the last time I talked to her she was still in the room.

We decided to go get our refillable mugs now and then head to the room. Me, Alicia and andy have been to AoA plenty of times in January so we were booking it to landscape of flavors forgetting that Brittany has yet to see this resort. So she stopped and snapped some pictures for your enjoyment

and lastly the gift shop!

we went to landscape of flavors, Alicia grabbed 4 mugs and soon it was time to check out the room!

I'm in! I read most of the first YOLO TR, but I just kind of lurked, but I am definitely de-lurking for this one! :cool1:

Ugh I can't believe how rude that man was to you guys getting on the plane!! I had someone make some snotty comment to me in the airport when I was going to Disney in February, what is with people lately???

Aww, I love Art of Animation!!! I only stayed there for one night, so I didn't get to explore as much as I would have liked, but I loved what I saw! It's so colorful and just so DISNEY! :lovestruc

Can't wait to read more!

Yay for a day of double updates!!

Man, the journey to Disney is always so tedious, like, you're on the way to the best place in the world, but it's taking FOREVER and you just want to be there already and just be in the bubble of magicness!

UGH! The picture of the "magical express this way, inside" sign seriously just took me right back to seeing it in person, the smells, the heat and humidity, the feeling of finally being there and just being happy! So much awesome!

Super excited to see the room!! I've been dying to see the insides of the suites at AoA in person but they're always so expensive that I'd almost rather stay at a deluxe haha.

I'm so glad you didn't have to drive! The way TO Disney is always okay because everyone is excited, but the way home STINKS.

I loved the pics of AoA. I've never seen it before and it looks wonderful!

omg I am so excited for this and totally hoping that Alicia is still there in 53 days when I get there :thumbsup2

YAY YAY YAY! I'm so excited that your excited! There will be a really good chance that she will still be there :thumbsup2

I'm so happy that you have decided to come out of lurking!
Sometimes people just make me so angry, but I guess you will always run into people who can't just keep their comments to themselves.
I feel in love with AoA it's perfect! I think its the most disney feeling resort.

Yay for a day of double updates!!

I feel so accomplished when I double update :rotfl:
Agreed the journey there, waiting for your plane then waiting to get off the plane can feel like its taking forever. Like I just want to run to the Magical Express and watch the video!

The rooms are so nice! The amount of space was really nice also. But I would agree moving to deluxe would be a good choice too.

Yay another YOLO trip! I loved your other TRs so am definitely in for this one!

YOLO YOLO YOLO! My favorite types of Disney trips. Thank you sooo much

I'm so glad you didn't have to drive! The way TO Disney is always okay because everyone is excited, but the way home STINKS.

I loved the pics of AoA. I've never seen it before and it looks wonderful!

Thats what I was thinking. When I was little all we did was drive so being in the car isnt all that bad. But then I remembered we would have to leave Disney super early in the morning to get on the road.

Be prepared for more photos! This has to be one of my favorite resorts on property. It's just magical

So glad you started another trip report. I enjoyed reading your last one.

I'm so happy you are joining along! Thank you so much
