7/25/2013 Med. Mickey's 12 Night Italian Job - with Nice, Valletta and Dubrov !

Hello! I am booked on the cruise! Travelling with my friend. I'm very excited as I have been waiting to do this itinerary for a long time! Has/is anyone stayed/ing at the Grand Marina in Barcelona? Just wondering what it is really like!

We have stayed at the Grand Marina in 2007. Since then the price has gone up. We were thrilled with I when we stayed there. The rooms were nice and the location was excellent.

Welcome newcomers.
Nevesmum, alt, and BLT1973, if you need to PM somebody, just post one word posts until you get to 10.

Okay, started Rosetta Stone Italian 2 nights ago. We'll see how this goes, took 4 years of piano, can't play chopsticks, 2 years of Spanish - yeah, can't understand any of that, 1 year of French, je NO parle France' (nada). 3 years of Latin, I can still get some of that, but it has been YEARS.

Going through the excursions - again. Did it as they came out and forgot which ones I liked. But, the family gets to vote. We don't get to schedule until 4/26 (or 27).

I am getting more and more excited about this trip. I just can't wait to get on that ship again.

Celestine, that trick for laundry also works for old socks. Socks tend to take up more room too. So, throwing them out gets even more space.

I can't imagine packing enough clothes for the whole trip. I'm definitely going to do laundry. Okay, either the DW or I will do the laundry. We share that one. Now if we can just get the bartenders to service the laundry rooms.:scratchin

Like your thinking! Meet some of you at the laundry room where each of us can take turns at the beer run! Need to put the fun into laundry somehow! Socks? I don't bother with them at all, not required with my comfy Birkenstock sandals which will walk miles around Europe.

Have you tried Earworms? It's on Itunes.

It works well for me since it's an audiobook and I commute about two hours a day.

I used it before I went to both Spain and Portgual and felt that I got more than my monies worth. They now have an IPad app that is even better than just the audiobook.

K, I've given our details today (stateroom numbers to follow as I didn't have them to hand) so, we're signed up and good to go! Hope that FE design is coming along nicely now...don't make it too good and put mine to shame :rotfl:

I'm currently working on our FE pocketed thingy. For a first attempt I think it's getting there so good luck Neve's Mum. I had to get the sewing machine out of storage and have it serviced it hadn't been used in so long!

Just found this thread! We are also going to be on this cruise - myself, DD (13) and DD (12 at cruise time). My DM has also decided to join us (but with her own cabin).

This is our first Disney cruise (and my first cruise in 15 years)! This is also my first post on ANY forum ever!

Hi there,
Welcome to our forum ladies. We had never joined a forum until we joined this one but seems everyone is friendly and there are loads of 12 to 14 year old girls going to be on board. Our daughter (13 on the cruise) had a ball on our last cruise on The Magic in the Med in 2011 so I'm sure you all will have a fab time. There's plenty of info already on here but we will be happy to provide any other info.
Regards
Fiona

Thank you, Fiona! My biggest concern right now is that when our booking window opens (May 11 - since we are first timers), we will get boxed out of any DCL excursions that we were interested in. Should I relax or be worried?

Hi Kim

We have found that there is usually good availability for most excursions, the things you may find harder to get are the "signature" type tours like the private gondala ride or private vehicle tours as these are more limited.

Perhaps it would be a good plan to work out a couple of excursions which would appeal in different ports and then when the Gold and Silver castaway club bookings open we can keep an update of what is sold out.

Also it is important to remember that availability can and does change. If you can't get what you want online it is still a good idea to go to the Port Adventures desk onboard (in the atrium on Deck 3) and ask what they have available and if there is something you really want that isn't available you can ask to be waitlisted for it - it may not come through but people change their plans all the time.

I would try not to worry and just relax, safe in the knowledge you are going to have an awesome trip regardless!

Hi Friends: I'm traveling with DH (rounderjd) and our friends (jasrhon). I didn't see a Facebook page so I thought I would create one in case anyone wants to join! I can't post the link yet (I don't have enough posts)! Will soon...

So are there different dates for booking excursions ( gold to sivler member ) and I am also still looking for at information regarding the excursions if there good or bad from others that have been on them in these posts

Still hoping to persuade friends sister to have her home economics pupils create it, I think it would be a great sewing lesson for them :rotfl2:

Meeska, I have the same concern about the excursions, but we get to schedule on the 26th. As Meeska stated, thanks for the encouragement Mel. Hopefully, we will all get what we want.

My family has voted on the excursions they want for France, Pisa, Rome, and Naples. With a top choice, second, and third choice in case of availability.

Nicole, great idea for the facebook page. Unfortunately, I don't have facebook. I'll just have to sneak peeks via my DW's page.

Nicole, part of my family's choice on Pisa was a Pisa/Florence excursion. So, I'm hoping to hit a little Michelangelo. Both of my kids want to see the leaning tower, but not climb it. Really, you want to go for the picture - that's all. Jeesh, I can photo shop that at home. At least we'll go to Florence as well.
