She was great! The scripts are a disappointment this year, though. I am glad to see Jamie Sheridan, though! Love him.

I think the actor playing Jimmie is just a bad actor. He can sing but he makes this character so sullen, so unpleasant and unapealing. A better actor could give some sympathy. Personally I can't imagine why the writers would make such an entitled annoying character.

I'm sure it's hard to find actors who can act and sing but this cast is not good.

Me too. In fact, I sent a text to my dd, off at college, telling her that Bernadette Peters had just sung a song to Ivy that I would sing to her. The two of us have had similar moments, sorry to say!

I don't think he's a bad actor. In fact, considering the events of last night, he is acting pretty much the way one would think he would, given that background.
But I do have to agree that the writing has been less than stellar. I used to care if I missed a week, not so much anymore.

She wasn't enough for me to save the show. When they announced that the show is moving to another day, I cancelled the show from my DVR schedule. This week is the last for me.

Yeah, his story line is what clinched it for me. When I saw them going in the "drug addict" direction, which means he will be on MORE than he annoyingly already is, I said I had enough of watching him. How and WHY did HE become one of the leads of this show?

I've seen the actor on broadway and the Dolly Parton movie, joyful noise. He's actually a decent actor but this character I just so horrible. The guy that took over smash is the guy who was in charge of gossip girl. I think he's trying to make the Jimmie character the Chuck Bass of Smash but its just so hard to like him. Thank goodness he can sing.

That is good, because starting this week, it isn't on Tuesdays anymore. It has been moved to Saturday, which is ALWAYS a good sign!

I am so grossed out at Karen and Jimmy being together. He is just so skeevy. Other than he can sing, what is the big redeeming quality for his character? I just don't get what makes him so desirable.

Karen is the positive beautiful girl and she falls for that negative butthead??

My husband read that Debra Messing will be in a new TV show next season.
Also, Katharine McPhee is distancing herself from the show at this point.
