Last week I started a thread on that movie Sooner or Later from 1979 (I know, not the 80s but pretty close).

Last weekend, I watched The Pirate Movie with Christopher Atkins (such a cutie) and Kristy McNichol. Really cheesy but really cute. I enjoyed it.

What are some other cheesy movies from the 80s (or 70s)?

I've been watching a ton of 80's movies.

Some of the cheesiest:

Howard the Duck
Ghostbusters
The Monster Squad
Weekend at Bernie's
The Money Pit

LOVE The Pirate Movie. Along with other very watchable but totally cheesy movies:

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
Mystic Pizza
Just One of the Guys
Dirty Dancing (admit it - it was cheesy)
Adventures in Babysitting
Vision Quest (not sure if that's cheesy category, but it's in my head)
Space Camp
Legend of Billy Jean
War Games
Best of Times

Not just cheesy but must watches
Goonies
Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure
Explorers
Xanadu
Weird Science
The Lost Boys
Girls just want to have fun (My all time favourite 80s movie when I was 12)
Garbage pail kids
Amazon women on the moon
Grease 2
Gremlins
Mannequin
Dream a little dream
Soul man
Harry and the Hendersons

ETA- you have to watch all the ones mentioned by PPs too. There are some good yet cheesy suggestions in there.

The Three Amigos with Steve Martin. I believe that one was done on a super short shoestring budget, the FX was *that* bad.

Love, love, love "Adventures in Babysitting"!!!

Also loved the cheesy "Night of the Comet" from 1984

LOVE the Pirate Movie! So cheesy!!

Also loved Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band with the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton as Billy Shears. Featuring the music of the Beatles along with George Burns, Aerosmith, Earth, Wind & Fire, Steve Martin, and Alice Cooper. A true delight for the fan of fine aged cheese. Technically not an 80's movie- came out in 1978.

Night of the Comet was the greatest cheesy movie ever! Effectively combining shopping and zombies.

The Karate Kid
Can't Buy Me Love
Explorers
Short Circuit
License to Drive
Lucas
Teen Wolf
Back to the Future
Real Genius
Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead
Bill & Ted

Earth Girls are Easy with Gina Davis, a young Jim Carey and Damon Wayans, and Jeff Goldblum.

Howard the Duck
Garbage Pail Kids

Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. I love the 80's and we did have a lot of good classics from that decade.

Most of my favorites have already been mentioned but here are a few more.

Starman
The Last Starfighter
The Manhattan Project.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo or The Last Dragon!! Two of the CHEESIEST movies of all time!!

Really, when it comes to the 80's it's hard to come up with anything "cheesy". The whole decade was pretty cheesy when you think about it. :rotfl:

I love all things 80's. Here's some of my favorite 80's movies that I don't think are TOO cheesy:

Flash Gordon
The Ice Pirates
Better Off Dead
One Crazy Summer
Hot Pursuit
Tag - The Assassination Game
Gotcha
Big Trouble in Little China

A movie about a dinosaur. I think it was called 'Baby'.

I remember seeing that in early elementary. I have no idea what it was about but I remember crying and crying and thinking it was so sad!
