Just booked our 5 day stay at the camp grounds for the Fourth of July..can't wait to watch the parade or maybe even enter it this year.... Anyone else going to be there that weekend ??

Happy for you Mouse14! :cool1:

The competition in the golf cart parade is stiff. There are some really creative people out there that you will be competing against.

Have you been to the Fort in the summer before? How far is it to the Fort for you? How many days in the parks will you do? Summer is usually strong sun, humid, with frequent afternoon showers. But the golf cart parade is usually around sunset.

Any patriotic theme will probably earn you a cheer! :rainbow:

Bama I'm 45 min from the World so very familiar with Florida heat... I saw the parade last year and it was awesome I can't wait! We plan on spending 2 or 3 days at the park and 4 nights total at the camp grounds.

My BFF is trying to talk me into going, but I don't think I can do it. :rotfl: It's so HOT and the older I get, the crankier I get when it's HHOOOOOTTTTT. I start praying @ September 15 that we'll have a cold front come through every Halloween so I'm not sweating while trick or treating before the 3rd loop.

Yea it's pretty hot in July but I don't mind to much just wear less clothing.... And try and stay in the pools.... Also cold beer helps a lot!

We will be there the week of the fourth too! I've heard about the parade and wonder if they have bikes in the parade? We don't do golf carts but if bikes are welcome I am sooo there!

Im not sure about the bikes in the parades... I don't recall seeing them last year but we can can start a biker section and all ride

"every Halloween so I'm not sweating while trick or treating"

I grew up in WPB and I remember mostly sweaty Halloweens!

I live near Orlando now...and would not tent camp on the 4th, even with A/C....way too humid. I would have to spend 24/7 in the pool, breathing out of a snorkle with my entire body submerged, LOL.

WPB is where we live now.... LOL and yes, it's HOT! We had just gotten a "new to us" MH in 2011 and decided to go for July 4th at the last minute. We regretted it within 24 hours. We just upgraded our MH again in December and we've already talked about there being NO WAY we'd do it again. I just don't have the patience for it anymore......but my friends down here adore the summer heat and are out in it everyday. God Bless them and all the folds that love the summers at Disney. :cheer2:

We are hoping to make a Mickey lamp post and if I can find some lime green waterproof fabric I am going to make a DIS flag for our site. We need to plan a DISmeet.

So we should be prepared with our sunscreen, hats, fans, water, ponchos! LOL! At least I won't have to worry about the pool being to cold! LOL! :beach:

Yes a cold pool will be much needed, also even tho it's hot i still enjoy the hottubs at night with some cold beer

We go every year for the 4th of July. There are usually bikes, skateboards and of course golf carts in the parade which is a morning parade. Everyone starts lining up at 8:00 am at the hitch/unhitch area. There are lots of great videos of the parade on you tube so you can check out the competition.

Morning parade? I can't remember when it was last year but I heard somewhere its An evening parade??

You might want to double check that. The parade on Halloween is in the afternoon, but the July 4th parade was in the mornings the few times I've been there on July 4th.
