Finally...A Star Wars Update
Here's some exciting news for Star Wars Clone Wars fans. Ashley Eckstein was at the Orlando Science Center on Saturday. The Orlando Science Center has this amazing Star Wars exhibit. Throughout this exhibit they have been having some wonderful Star Wars events in addition to the exhibit. Someone had told me they had attended Breakfast with the Bad Guys. This day we were there for a Q&A and M&G with photo-op afterwards. There are just so many unanswered questions about Clone Wars. It was great to sit in on one of the Q&A's.
(One of JJ's friends from his special needs theater went with us. She is 13 and is one of the helpers, her brother has Autism and is one of the actors. She was wonderful with JJ. Her brother had a Special Olympic event that day so he was fine not going with us. However, he and his mom met up with us on Monday at Epcot and his sister stayed home so the boys could have some time together.)
Traffic cooperated on our way to the science center. We arrived by 9:30, parked and were the first people in the Member line. There were already people in the regular line. JJ met a boy on vacation from Puerto Rico named Alejandro who was a huge Star Wars and Indiana Jones fan. There was a member of the 501st in line who gave both boys 2 of his trading cards! One card was of him individually and the other card was the member in a group shot. It was very cool!
We headed over to the Digital Theater where the Q&A was to be held, but we no sooner got in line and JJ had to visit the restroom. We got back to the digital theater and just hung out. We were the only people there for a few minutes. Then another family arrived wearing SWW shirts. Conversation got started as soon as JJ saw the shirts. He noticed the mom and daughter wearing a Her Universe shirt and told them the girl who made those shirts is his friend. I didn't realize he thought she hand makes each shirt.
This display was in the waiting area of the digital theater. I've always liked NBC. Especially the music.
Ashley arrived and I pointed her out to JJ. Before I knew it, he was out of line and in her arms. She asked how her skyguy was doing and he said good then got back in line with me.
While in line JJ also made friends with one of the science center employees. He told JJ there was another JJ who worked there.
There were 3 seats at the front of the theater and near the exit so we sat there. It was a very casual Q&A. People were free to enter and exit as they wished.
The other JJ is in this picture. She introduced Ashley to the audience.
JJ had a very difficult time keeping from crying during the Q&A. He is still very upset that Ahsoka left the jedi order and that Clone Wars has been cancelled. He collected himself by the end and asked a question. His question was what happened to Darth Maul? She said that she really isn't sure, and asked JJ what his theory was? He didn't hesitate to give his theory.
Somebody had asked her what her two favorite characters were. She answered R2D2 and Chewbacca. JJ was so excited because he had brought her gifts, a Chewbacca tissue box and soap he had made of R2D2, Han in carbonite, and Mickey Mouse.
He also gave her two tickets to his play. We thanked her again for suggesting theater classes for him. Theater has been lifechanging for him. So many benefits have come out of these classes. He is becoming more aware of his surroundings, becoming more confident in himself, becoming more imaginative, and the list goes on. She autographed pictures we had brought. One was JJ and her at SWW and the other was from Celebration VI. She also gave him one of the pictures she had and autographed that too. Then she posed for pics.
As we left the Digital Theater, the science center employee who JJ befriended also stopped for a picture.
We didn't go back for the other Q&A, instead we explored the science center.
Then joined a CSI lab demonstration
