What's your favorite Mod resort and why?

Just wanted to see what were some favorite Mods out there. We are going to be staying at POFQ for the 1st time and with the Disney Visa discount we only get 5% whereas the others are 20%.

POFQ is out favorite also. Love the compact size, the CMs are great, bus service is decent, and it never really feels crowded.

POR, and we have stayed at all of the mods. I liked them all but POR is just my favorite. There is a walk to the food court from the farthest buildings but the resort is so beautiful and between the boat to DTD, the pools, the food court and atmosphere it is my first choice.

For moderate resorts, we have stayed at POR, POFQ, and CBR. By far POFQ is my favorite. The grounds are gorgeous, cast members seem to be extra special, and the free boat ride to DTD is a nice perk. The only thing this resort is missing is a full service dining option, but you can take a 10 minute stroll to POR and dine at Boatrights. When we stayed at POR and CBR, it was a 5 minute or so walk just to get to the main building for drinks, etc.

Everything at POFQ is very close. It is a fantastic option, I think you booked the correct resort. When DH and I went in December, we received free dining. I would have passed on free dining (and paid for the plan myself) and stayed at POFQ rather than get free dining at a different moderate resort.

Also, the resort is smaller, seems quieter, and never seems busy.

We've stayed at CBR, POR, and CSR. We visited FQ for the food court and pool(can pool hop between POR and POFQ).

Of the 3 we stayed at, it's a tie for POR and CSR. It seemed like more walking at CSR and that was the only things I didn't like there. The main pool is not by El Centro where there are more food choices(although the main pool does have some food/drinks). I liked the health club and thought the main pool and the quiet pools were nicer than the other mods. We didn't like the pool at FQ. Having a fun slide is nice and FQ's slide is more for preschoolers. We liked how CSR has duvet covers on the beds, sliding doors for the bathroom area. CSR only has one sink, but that didn't pose any issues for us.

We liked the QS at POR, the boat to DTD and the general atmosphere there. We would definitely go back to CBR too(especially once they get around to putting in queen beds). I don't think I'd pay extra to stay at FQ, which is partially why we haven't stayed there yet. They don't seem to offer the same discounts on those rooms, even though they are basically the same room as you get at the other mods...just a smaller resort. The smaller resort must really be a big draw for a lot of people. We usually get around the resort size, by requesting a room near a bus stop and not too far from the pool/food areas.

POFQ is my absolute favorite moderate, and I have stayed at all 4 of them. POR is a very close 2nd favorite. I love POFQ for its charm and small size. Beautiful rooms, gorgeous atmosphere and grounds, and because it is very quiet and relaxing at all times of the day. I really love the boats to DTD.. it is so nice to get away from the buses so we always use the boat when we spend an evening in DTD.

POR is where we are actually staying in November this year since I wanted to surprise my god-daughter with a Royal Guest Room. I love the grounds at Riverside. The food court is one of the best. The resort is very big, but the Royal Rooms are located a little closer to the main area.

CBR is our favorite moderate resort. It was our first resort we stayed at many years ago, and we love it. It is beautiful, colorful, and very tropical. We love the white, sandy beaches with friendly ducks and lounging hammocks. CBR has a great main pool along with a good food court and gift shop. Yes, it is large but we love it. It just doesn't seem very crowded to us when we are visiting. We are visiting again in July!

Agree! Love CBR for all these reasons!!

I love CBR too! Beautiful grounds, great pool, and it just really feels tropical there. However, I am considering staying at POFQ this fall. The idea of a smaller resort appeals to me, and it looks very pretty.
What is the price difference for a Royal room, and what is the difference between that and a regular room?
Thanks !

Mine is CSR. I love the pepper market, pool is great, and rooms have almost a deluxe feel to them! Can not wait to stay there this summer! :beach:

Before I purchased DVC, we stayed at Coronado Springs. We love it there. The pools are nice, the lake is gorgeous, the rooms seem a little bigger, queen size beds. Shuttle stops 2 and 3 are easy to load and unload. I like the Pepper Market. It is a beautiful resort.

If you look on a map of POR, The Royal guest rooms are actually the farthest of the mansions from the main building and main pool. They are the closest to POFQ. If you want something close to the main area, you may want to book a "preferred" room.

Disney usually puts the specially themed rooms the furthest away from everything.

I've stayed at both POR and CBR multiple times and just stayed at POFQ for the first time a few months ago - LOVED it soooo much!! The only problem is that yes, the discounts are never as good so it's always more expensive than the other mods.

It was way smaller than the others and just had a great "feel" to it, almost hard to explain. Love the boat ride to DTD.

To me CSR is a notch above the rest IMHO.

POR is our 2nd favorite, followed by POFQ.

CBR is a distant 4th...I just don't get it ..It's not me thats all.

CSR - Has always had the best bus service out of all the resorts we've visited. Never a wait never full, and right on schedule..:thumbsup2

CSR - Main feature Pool, is perfectly themed Very gig, and has an awesome slide,
also has a nice hot tub.

CSR - Rooms are all up to date (Ronevated as of 2009 or10 ) I believe and have comfy queen beds.

CSR - Pepper Market , many people don't like but I like it more so than the traditional food court...To me it's just easier to navigate, & sit down once u do get your food... Lots of choices too.

CSR - Great TS rest. & Cafe Rix is very good as well....

CSR - 2 different themed area that you could stay in, each w/ it's own unique decor.
All the mods are good but to me CSR is like a Deluxe-Lite.....

Good luck in whichever you choose...:thumbsup2

I've stayed at all of the Moderates, and the only one I don't like is CBR. It is just way too big! Too many bus stops, which made it feel as if you spent a long time just riding around the resort before heading to the parks. Or before getting back to your room. Plus the food court is no where near as good as those at the other Moderates.

You can't go wrong with any of the other 3. :)

Wow! Thanks! Glad to see POFQ is a favorite. I am looking forward to the small resort but just thought to ask what were some of the favorites. I agree that from the pictures that the pool may not be all that. The discount at others mods is kind of tempting.

Remember if you stay at POFQ you are allowed to use the pool at POR. They are sister resorts, so it is ok by Disney that you do!:)

::yes:: Except there are 3 different themed areas. :)

CSR is our favorite mod and among our top 3 WDW resorts including all the deluxe and villas.
One + I'd like to add is the CMs are beyond wonderful.
