We have been to the Aquarium and it really is beautiful, Rosie. We did the excursion through Disney and it was easy as they provided transport and the guides at the Atlantis were very nice, but it was a very hot day that day and after the tour, even though you could have stayed and explore on your own, we just "fled" back to the ship. :lmao:
Can't help with the other tours, but with the Aquarium you would have had plenty of time to shop! :thumbsup2

What a nice reception with the Captain and your dinner looks amazing.

That little Christmas ball in your FE gift pile is adorable.

It is always so nice to get to know the officers and have a word with the Captain. Not to forget that you get free champagne and hors d'œuvre! :lmao:

I just love that Christmas ball, so cute! I took extra care to get it home in one piece! :goodvibes

Day 4, February 19

“I could get used to this!” - part 1

Today was our day at Castaway Cay. We were up by 7am and looked outside, but so far we could not see Castaway Cay. So back to bed we went until 7.30, when we looked outside again and now we could see the island.
We got up, and took turns in the shower and once we were both done, the ship was slowly sliding into port.

So far we have always had room service breakfast on the balcony, but this time we decided to head to Royal Palace again. So, shortly after 8am we made our way down and were quickly seated.

By our first night’s server. :rolleyes1

Who then asked where we had been the night before. :scared1:

It was a bit awkward to have to tell him that we had changed our rotation, but there was no way around it. So we explained to him that we had requested Ana in the first place, then had found her on the ship and that she had changed our rotation for us.
I really felt sorry for him, as he so obviously hadn’t had any idea of what had happened. So after clearing that up he handed us a menu and took our drinks order. Tom had some coffee again, while I stuck to the orange juice. Both were brought out by a different server, who shortly after bringing our drinks offered us some pastries. Like the day before, we both declined and instead ordered the

Swiss Bircher Muesli, Muesli with raisins, shredded apples and yogurt for Tom and the

Mornin' Tug Boat, fresh blend of strawberries, bananas, almonds, raisin granola and low-fat yogurt for myself. It was served about 2 minutes after we had ordered it and it was as good as the day before.
There was no doubt in my mind what I would order, my favourite cruise breakfast, the

Traditional Eggs Benedict, Toasted English muffin with grilled Canadian bacon, served with poached egg topped with hollandaise sauce, grilled roma tomatoes and link sausages, and after having tried the Eggs Benedict the day before, Tom decided on having something different, the

Big Breakfast, a large filled omelet on savory toast with grilled tomatoes, bacon and baked beans topped with caramelized onions. It didn’t take long after we had finished our cold course, that our breakfast was served.
We both enjoyed it and gobbled up our yummy food. In the meantime we had docked at Castaway Cay and people were getting antsy to get off the ship as soon as possible.
Once we had finished our breakfast and handed our server a tip a little bigger than usual, we went to the back elevators and went back up to our stateroom to get changed. We both put on our swimsuits, some shorts and T-shirts, put on our Cabana bracelets and took our day bags and off we went to join the lot of people wanting to go down.
Thankfully we got onto the second or third elevator down and soon found ourselves in a line to disembark. We were off within a few minutes and headed towards the tram.

The first one was already full and drove out when we approached, but a second one was close behind and we found some seats and waited to be gone. The tram filled up fast and we were on our way. We got off at the first stop and walked towards the shops.
We wanted to buy a new baseball hat for me and maybe pick up something for our cousin’s little boy. We went through the shops and looked around a bit and did find some items to buy, even though I had to buy a different cap as they were out of my favourite one.
We pitied the Cast Members that day as the computers were all down and they had to do all the accounting by hand, which led to lots of paperwork and longer lines. And the moment we had left the shop we realized that we had forgotten to pick up a Mickey water ball for George. We looked back, but there had formed a line and we didn’t want to wait so long to get a bill for a 5 dollar item.
We slowly walked towards the next tram stop

and found the Mickey ball we wanted at the other shop. No line there, so we quickly made our purchase, then headed outside to the tram to Serenity Bay. We were the only passengers on that tram and had a short ride over to the adult beach.
There, our Cabana host was already waiting.

To be continued ...........

Oh yum ...once again. I could go for those desserts right now. And a nap. LOL

Not so keen on the desserts at the moment, we had some real yummy birthday cake today!

A nap on the other hand sounds tempting ...... (well, it's past 10pm here, so I guess I am entitled to feel tired). ;) :lmao:

Thanks Karin !!! I am still deciding which one to push , as we have to ask them ,one of the other groups last year did the Sea & See Tour and they said it was fun !! So maybe the Bus has been up dated:rotfl2:But the Glass bottom boat is different to that tour !!

Karin, Is there anywhere to change at Serenity Beach !!! Just thinking it might be easier for the guys than having to cope with swimsuits when they have to GO!!!!

Almost forgot, you have apicture of my breakfast that I will have at Royal Palace in a few weeks !!! Is there a menu handed to you, and is there a variety ?????

If you do the Sea and See tour, don't tell me afterwards I did not warn you! :rotfl2:
They will take you out on an open ferry to the submarine, then you have to transfer - then an hour in a non air conditioned tin can. Be my guest, Rosie! ;) The bus was just the icing on the cake. :rotfl2:

Are you reading Jen's trip report? She has been to some gardens in Nassau and they were able to get up close and personal with Flamingos. Wouldn't that be something your cruisers might enjoy?

great reports

Thank you! :goodvibes

Karin, Is there anywhere to change at Serenity Beach !!! Just thinking it might be easier for the guys than having to cope with swimsuits when they have to GO!!!!

There are some restrooms right behind the Castaway Air Bar, but these are your only options of a changing room other than renting a Cabana, they have a little changing room built in. :thumbsup2

Almost forgot, you have apicture of my breakfast that I will have at Royal Palace in a few weeks !!! Is there a menu handed to you, and is there a variety ?????

Yeah for getting you the right breakfast photo! :thumbsup2
And yes, they WILL hand you a menu. There are several hot and cold options. :thumbsup2 I just have found my favourites and stick with them. They are just soooooooo good! :goodvibes

Can't wait to see the Cabana !

Tom took quite a few photos, Linda! We love the Cabanas and I will have to compete for another one in only a little under two weeks. Keep your fingers crossed for me if you can, while enjoying DL! :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Thanks for the Tours info !! Astaria Gardens is on the list !!! I believe there is a Flamingo show:goodvibes I am not thinking of the Sea & SEE tour but looks like the Glass bottom boat may be different and of course the Aquarium is on the list!!

Rosie, the Straw Market is crazy with people begging you to stop and buy from them, but it is fun to see what they have. When you get tired of that, If you head through Atlantis and out on the Marina side, there are some great shops on that side, and some nice cafes where you can sit and stare at the yachts all parked there and see if you spy someone famous! (I saw Penelope Cruz over at "the Cove" side of the resort while I was bar hopping when staying there)
