Witnessed a crime scene at EPCOT!

That's funny about the squirrels, what smart little critters!!
When I bought my funnel cake at Epcot the lady warned me not to eat it out in the open as the seagulls will swoop down and steal it right off the plate:furious: Lucky for us there was a table w/ an umbrella close by

this thread has me cracking up!!!! Squirrels and birds can be so naughty!!! LOL Now I'm going to be paranoid when we have our stroller down there.

I realize that I am being pedantic, but a bird that eats other kinds of birds is not cannibalistic any more than we are when we eat a hamburger.

That was one of the issues we had with that group of people at AK. And thank goodness I had it quotes. :)

Those squirrels in Epcot are funny animals. One played dead for me when I was down in January. I was playing with him and petting him. And mind you I had no food to give him or anything. They are awfully cleaver animals in that park lol

About 3 years ago, we were on our way into the Land pavilion when stroller parking was just outside of that pavilion along the walkway. There was a squirrel on a stroller that chewed through a backpack and got a bag of goldfish. He was sitting there on the stroller eating the goldfish. We took a pic. He didn't really care that we were taking pictures; he just kept eating.

I was mugged by a squirrel once, but not at Disney. The university my husband went to had a lot of squirrels used to being fed by the students. One time I was sitting on a low wall, waiting for him, with a candy bar in my purse on the wall next to me.

A squirrel came and begged from the sidewalk. I ignored him. He got up on the wall next to me and begged again. I ignored him. He went over next to the purse and begged a third time, and was ignored again. Well, no more Mr. Nice Squirrel! He started digging through my purse to find the candy bar. I grabbed the purse by the strap and tried to shake him off, and he bared his teeth and barked at me. I backed off and let him be. He scattered my purse's contents about until he found the candy bar and carried it off.

Frankly, I'd rather they take my stuff when I'm not around than threaten me!

At MK last feb we were standing by the construction wall at Fantasyland. My husband was holding a cookie and bent over to help our DS. Bird snatched the cookie right out of his hand!!

Back home we shoot squirrels. Maybe they should relax the "no firearms" rule at WDW.

mmmmm....Squirrel Stew! :stir:

My biggest fear is one of those furry rats running up my leg. :faint:

At HS outside Idol it almost happened. I tried to get away, the squirrel kept coming at me, I started dodging & shrieking, my mom about fell over laughing. I didn't even have any food! I was just trying to enter the building.

Last trip in Epcot outside the American Adventure we were having a frozen lemonade & waiting for the show. Those larger white crane looking birds were lurking around. Of course a moron throws some turkey meat at one so now all 3 get into a scramble over it & are getting more aggressive trying to approach other people. I exited the area quickly.

I just don't trust when they stop moving & start eyeing me up. I feel like the goat in Jurassic Park.

I have nothing to add except that this is one of my favorite threads on this board and has totally made my day!

My husband was eating a piece of pizza while walking down the Boardwalk and a seagull actually flew down and snatched the pizza out of his hands! Of course the pizza was too heavy for the bird to fly with so it fell to the ground. It was crazy, but really funny!

My BIL was buying some of those yummy pecans from the carts at MK when he was approached by a hungry squirrel. As he was getting cash out of his wallet, the squirrel came closer and put a paw on BIL's leg waiting to be fed. It quickly ran off after BIL noticed it and started screaming like a little girl!

We had almost the same thing as well. We were in the Land and came out to find a squirrel in our stroller basket eating a pb&j still in original wrapper…or well it was. My daughter was so upset. Later in the day when back at our resort we told the cashier what had happened, just in conversation while buying a new sandwich..and she gave it to us at no charge! Was so sweet..I wasn't even asking for it. Very nice :) Daughter was happy…Mommy was happy!

My last trip, I was waiting for Off Kilter and there was this squirrel running around the area. He started running up people's legs begging for food. Luckily for me it was December and a little cool. I had long pants on when he tried begging from me. He seemed to understand the word "NO" :rotfl:

We saw a man feeding a squirrel nuts one day when we were watching Off Kilter. He seemed like he might be a regular, so I guess the squirrels are used to being fed there.

So,
How do you catch a Unique Squirrel?
U-Nique up on it...
:rotfl2:

How do you catch a Tame Squirrel?
Tame Way...
:rotfl:

Sorry, had to say it, too many years as a CubMaster. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Oh, and many birds are carnivorous. Hawks, eagles and most raptors eat mice, lizards, snakes. The Ibis and Egrets (the white birds) that are so common at the Disney parks will eat the lizards, fish and most any meat offered to them. They would far prefer meat over bread any day. Gulls will eat anything they can get a hold of.

We caught this little fella stealing some hashrounds from BurgerKing outside of Figment several years ago. :rotfl:

I'm grateful most of the little bandits at WDW are squirrels, and not the rat I saw near the DVC pavilion in Adventureland! That rat was huge, and not related to Mickey at all. Shudder!
