Can you help?

Hi everyone. Hoping I could get some help with a problem I'm having buying tickets online. I recently was approved for a Disney Visa(today, so I could qualify for the $100 statement credit on my 1st purchase), and was trying to buy 2 2-Day 1 park a day hopper tickets online, with the so-cal residents discount (@$158.10 each). I've been trying to buy these tickets for the past hour now, and I just keep getting the message:

We are sorry - the tickets that you have selected are temporarily unavailable. Please try back in a few minutes.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem with purchasing e-tickets? And please forgive me if I posted this question in the wrong forum, I'm new here.

Also, I only applied for the Disney Visa so that I could get the $100 off my 1st statement with this ticket purchase. If I don't buy them online, and at the park gate, I won't be able to use my new Disney Card since I have to wait for it to come in the mail.

Thank you for any help you can give.

I am not sure where you are buying them through, but I had read awhile ago that discounts for Southern California residents for park tickets was no longer available - but don't remember where I read that.

Perhaps calling Disney to ask would be a good idea.

Can you provide the link you are using to purchase tickets? It doens't appear to be directly from Disney, as they no longer have special rates for So Cal residents.

I was attempting to buy the tickets from here: tickets.disney.go.com/buy/TicketTrans

I originally tried to buy the tickets through my savings club offers, from coupons.com. I pay a membership fee to get offers from theme parks. From there, I attempted to buy tickets at the discounted price of $158.10 each.

I also tried going to a different browser(I was originally using firefox), logging into my disneyland.com account, and trying to purchase my tickets that way. I see that the discount of 11.90 is no longer there, and the tickets come out to $170 each now. It seems as though even though I was approved for the Disney Visa, I won't be able to apply it to this order? I now get a whole new error message:

We are unable to authorize at least one method of payment.

1. Please verify your credit/debit card account number, CVV2 Number, the card expiration date, and that the correct type of card was selected.

2. If the information above is correct, please verify the billing address provided below matches the billing address for your credit/debit card. The billing address and the Zip/Postal Code entered must match that of the credit/debit card billing address.

3. If you applied your Disney Rewards® Redemption Card or Disney Gift Card to this transaction, please call the number on the back of your card and verify your card balance.

4. If any changes were made to the information below, please re-submit your order.

If you continue to receive this error, please use another card, try back in a few minutes or contact us through the link at the bottom of this page.

The whole reason I signed up for the Disneyland Visa, was to get the $100 statement credit on my 1st purchase, being my ticket order.

Bummer. We don't get to plan too many D-Land trips these days either.

So you do not have the Visa in your hand? You were only approved - did they give you the number, expiry date and CCV for it? That seems odd to me as normally when you get a VISA card you have to first get it in your hand in the mail and then call to activate it. I have never heard of someone trying to use their visa without first receiving it.

I'm wondering how any of this is supposed to be done without a physical card. I have been approved for credit cards, but have never known the actual account number until the card came in the mail. The CVV2 number is the 3 digit number on the back, and I don't know of any credit card issuer that will print it anywhere else (for security purposes).

I'm pretty sure I used the Disney Visa card immediately at disneystore.com when I was approved. It was a long time ago, but I'm pretty sure I did... So, I don't think it's necessarily impossible to use it immediately on the Disney sites.

How is that done without activating a card? Every card I remember from the last 10 years requires I call in to a toll free number. Sometimes it links to my home phone number and that's enough to link to the card. At other times I'm asked for the full number (like if Im using a different phone).

Visa cards are normally mailed to your home address so they can make sure that any subsequent bill will also be sent to the correct address. Also, they make you call to activate it on your home phone number so they also know that anytime they have to call you about the card, they have the right number.

These are security features in place to protect not just the bank but the customer - I would not want someone to have a card in my name with my address that never showed up in my mailbox.

I think this is not going to work - call Disney and get help if they are okay with activating a card without it being sent to you - that is my advice.

Well, about a decade ago, I signed up for a Disney Visa via the disneystore.com website. They approved me and I was able to immediately complete my transaction at disneystore.com using that card. Do I remember the details of how it was done? No. I'm just saying that what the OP is asking about is not necessarily impossible in the Disney family of websites with the Disney Visa card.

I believe Amazon.com does a similar promotion with their Amazon-branded credit card. At least, they offer me one every time I go to checkout and they say something like "Your purchase could be only $2.08" or something.

It sounds like the OP may have missed his window to use the card immediately, however. As he has been to multiple websites, used multiple browsers, etc. Whatever the website used when he was approved (a cookie, or whatnot) may have already expired.
