Anyone gone to parks on Easter Sunday?

Hi all, our first day in the parks will be Easter itself, and we're staying at VGC so can get early entry to DCA :goodvibes (but that early entry is at like 7am, ugh :scared:). We're a little hopeful that crowds will start a little later on Easter Sunday, as people spend holiday time at church and breakfast with family.... what have people's past experiences been?

Thanks!

We've got the same plan though staying at the DLH. 7 am sounds painful especially as we'll be arriving from my friends house that morning, only about 15 minutes away but still that means a 5:30 wake up time for us. :scared:

I've read it gets very very crowded and rope drop will help for sure. I think it crowds up after church and the bunny.

I haven't been on Easter and would also love to hear more.

Have a great Sunday. My son is working parades in CA look for CMs from Austin,Texas.I think overall Sundays a bit slower than Saturday.Single rider if it works for you will let you do a lot more in a day here.Look for the plaids--celebrity watching is big on Sunday. These are the hosts for the celebrities.Plaid dresses and vests....

I had no idea about the plaids, thanks for the tip!

Sundays are a busy day. Sundays during Spring Break are busier. Holiday Sundays are busier still. I would expect it to be crowded and busy, moreso after 12 noon.

Regarding plaids, not everyone with a plaid is a celebrity. Anyone willing to hire one can. It is not uncommon to see a plaid with "normal people."

Does your son work any particular area? The Llama family is heading out West at the end of May. I would love to give him a friendly hello from Austin.

We were there last year for Easter from noon til 4pm but not that crowded. This year will be staying @ VGC for a few days. Hopefully it will be like last time.

I just read there will be some Limited Time Magic on Easter!! :cool1: Meet the Easter Bunny on Main Street, plus watch a special bunny hop dance starring the Easter Bunny and other Disney Friends.
At California Adventure, oversized Easter eggs have been hidden throughout the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. Track them down and earn your Spring Egg-tivity Badge.

That's so sweet for the little ones!:flower3: Just going to do a little easter egg hunt for MY BIG boys (20 & 16) around our villa! :rolleyes1 Filling plastic eggs with quarters & candy!! You can never go wrong with $$ and food! ;) Also filling a little basket for all of us & our favorite Disney munchies!!

we will be there also on Easter...having breakfast at storytellers then taking the welcome to DLR tour....happy to see there will be some Easter magic happening too!

We have been there on Easter Sunday in the past and it is very crowded. Early mornings are always better than mid-day, but I don't think Easter Sunday was any easier. The thing about Sundays is that Saturdays are blacked out for Deluxe passholders, so they go on Sundays. Easter Sunday is NOT blacked out for Deluxe but it is for SoCal passholders. While that does make some difference in the crowds, people will still flock to DLR on Easter Sunday as a family outing, making it more crowded than a normal Sunday. In addition, folks like the OP who are on break will often be arriving for or just finishing up their spring break.

We'll be there too... Also hoping for a get there early and leave early if necessary plan. Long range forecast not looking so hot right now but maybe the rain will keep some people home...

I was looking at that weather too, I'm guessing rain would keep the crowds down if we're all willing to soak it up :)

A little rain never hurt. :thumbsup2 I think it'll keep the locals away (no offense locals :flower3:). My friend and I were there on Friday 3/8 and the weather called for 90% rain. The parks were pretty empty. It rained all of 30 minutes tops. Hoping for the same next Sunday.

we are thinking about going on Easter too, but are worried the crowds may be nutso. However, the threat of rain is sure to keep many away. What to do.. what to do...

Chance of rain keeps getting smaller and smaller for Sunday, I would not worry about it.
