Do the fast passes for RSR run out? I was just trying to figure out how I am going to plan this out. If they do what would you say the latest would be that I could arrive to get them? I know we will not be there for RD so I was hoping to rely on FP to atleast get on the ride.. We are going July 13-20 its me DD16, DS13, DS12 &DH if that even matters..lol:)

Thanks in advance for any and all info.

Usually they have been running out about an hour after park opening. Depends on the crowd level though, on slower days they have been lasting maybe 2 hours.

In November we got there at park opening and got in line. The fastpasses ran out before we got there. We missed it by 6 people. I don't think you should have any problems if you make sure you get there in a timely fashion and head straight to the line.

We were delayed at the entrance because we bought our park hoppers through The Employee Network. When I handed over my computer-generated ticket, the park ticket that spit out had someone else's name on it. It was a nightmare, believe me....

I would suggest getting into the FP line before the first two hours of the day from all that I have read and heard they do not last much past 2 hours even on slower days.

If not, given your ages you could all ride using the single riders line as long as you are okay with not being in the same car.

Mid-march on a weekday- they were gone in 1 hr 45 minutes & the next day 2 hrs 15 minutes

we were there mid Oct and were never able to get a Fast Pass... every time we tried they were gone before we could get one.... and the line to get one is as long as the ride itself :rotfl2:

I think you are the first person that has asked "if" they run out. Most ask "when"...:rotfl2:

Yes. They have ran out everyday since it opened...usually within two hours of park opening. If you are too late for a FP, your family could use the single rider line. More than likely, you will not ride together, but your wait will be less.

I kinda figured that this was pretty much a dumb question as I assumed the answer would be they run out fast. Thanks for your input. Much appreciated :)

If you don't want to do the single rider line, I would highly suggest being there at rope drop (probably even 1/2 hour before at the gate) just one day (that it is not an EMH morning if you're offsite) and get the FP.

Just looked up today out of curiosity and touring plans reports FP was gone at 8:45 today for an 8 AM opening. I have to wonder does it not take a certain amount of time to simply process the maximum number of FP that are allowed to be generated. Even if the line is long, and people are constantly at the machines, it has to take x number of minutes for each person to do their passes especially when processing for a group? So if there is always a line for FP to this ride, should it not be close to being sold out around the same time every day or have people ever just walked up and got one because the line was vacant for a few minutes, on say a Tuesday mid Jan? Otherwise you have to wonder if they are not limiting the FP more for this ride?

When we were there in September, they were out when my sister got to the FP machine, 40 minutes after opening. It was a 10-8 day, which would have fewer FPs available than the 8-midnight days (the day before, a Sunday, I had pulled FPs an hour and 20 minutes after opening and the return time was still before dark). So, day length is a factor, as well as the line length.

There have been rumors that they are giving out less FPs for RSR that for other rides. That is one of the reasons it runs out so fast. And because of popularity of course. So there might be different numbers of FPs on different days.

Good point!

There are a few rare occasions when FP availability last a little longer than 2 hours after park opening. I think I was there the last weekend in Feb. (or maybe the first weekend in March) and there were still FPs available at Noon. The line had already been cut-off and the FPs were for the last window of the night (i.e. 10pm-11pm), but seeing the availability at that "late" hour after park opening surprised me.

However, for the OP's trip in mid-July, FPs will probably run out in the 2 hours after park opening--as most posters have already written. I just wanted to note that there are some outliers on slower days.

We'll be there in two weeks (4/14 -20) staying at the Grand. What's the best way to get FPs for the family these days?

Do you plan on using EMH every day of your stay?

If so, I would go to EMH at DCA. Some like to get in the FP line right away (although be aware it doesn't actually open until park opening) while others say to get in the FP line 5-10 min prior to regular park opening. For us, because DH doesn't like spinning rides like MJJ, he gets in the FP line with a cup of coffee and the newspaper while I take the kids on the other two Carslands ride. We then head over to TSMM and he meets us in that area.

Some are reporting that you can get FP up until 1.5-2 hrs after park opening, but since you have the option of EMH, I wouldn't chance it.
