It's time to try a Disney Cruise. Let's start with the Dream! update pg 14

Finally had a chance to read through everything. Fishlips looks like a fun place to eat and watch the ships. Probably somewhat intimidating to see those big things heading straight towards you though. :rotfl:

I'm glad that you got Declan playing a little bit more physical in the paint. I'm sorry it was at the expense of being an elbow to your head while on vacation. :rotfl2::lmao:

Great job getting stuff done once you were on the ship. A few runs on the Aqua Duck before you even left port is about as big of a win as I can think of. :thumbsup2

I've never been on a cruise, but man, it would be hard to not want to pay a little extra and get a verandah. It looks like a great place to relax. I think your call to stay there as you pulled out from port and as you arrived in Nassau was a good call. Well worth it, I'm sure.

Really good TR so far I wail be on the Dream in 1 month from today so cant wait to hear about the rest of the trip

It was pretty cool watching the ships come right at you while at Fishlips. We got to experience that at sea on our last sea day as well. Don't worry, it wasn't as scary as it sounds.

We lucked out the whole cruise with the Aquaduck. The cooler temperature seem to keep the lines short.

It must be rough to live here!

.

Yes, that looks trying. But if someone's gotta do it, I'll take the bullet.

:rotfl2:

I'm excited to see more, so far it looks beautiful!

Getting off the ship wasn’t a problem and we were able to get through the market area without much trouble. The market area wasn’t busy but we were asked if we wanted a taxi or a scooter a few times. After walking around Nassau, there is no way in the world I would get on one of those scooters. It was scary enough walking in some places.

Our only plan was to find the Queen’s Staircase and Fort Fincastle. We knew the general direction so we just started walking. We made went one street up from the port entrance and came upon a police officer directing traffic on what we thought was a busy street.

It was pretty cool to see them dressed in the white jackets directing traffic. It turned out that this what by the Bahamian Parliament buildings and there seemed to be something official going on. There were a few uniformed officials hanging around.

And this car which we assumed (given the license plate) was the Prime Minister’s.

We waited around a bit but nothing seemed to be happening so we continued down the street for a couple of blocks. There were a few shops along the way but nothing to write home about. I was able to get some good pictures along the way.

Looking back to the port

Some conch shells in a traffic barrier

After going up another block we arrived at a corner that we weren’t too sure about. The traffic in the intersection was crazy and there was construction on the corner that looked to be an expansion of the hospital. After checking with a local, we realized we were on the right track and crossed the street and continued up the hill until we found this:

The Queen’s Staircase is pretty cool to see, especially given the fact that it was hand carved. Here are some more pictures.

Be back later with some more from Nassau.

Sorry the traveling caught up to me last night so I didn't get to another update like I hoped. Trying to get on later tonight.

A couple of updates…
and one while you’re on vacation no less. Good work.

I’ve seen that “James Bond” tower before. Nice description. :lmao:
I know it was a resort and that it’s been abandoned since one of the previous hurricanes, but I can’t find anything else on it. That’s odd. I’ll have to try and dig into that more later on.

Looks like y’all had a nice little walk up toward the high ground. Interesting to see at least a little bit of the proceedings at the Government House. I also like the picture of the PM’s “ride”. It’s a different world when you most senior national figure is being driven around in his own personal luxury Kia. :rotfl2:

The Queens Steps are quite impressive (and quite the hike to get up).
Enjoying the tour. Keep it up sir and have fun down there in Florida…

That actually looks like an enjoyable walk from the ship to the staircase. It would be neat to be able to soak in the atmosphere of the city and get a little bit of culture that way.

You know, as long as the locals are pleasant, and it sounds like they must have been for your experience.

We had a chuckle that the car for the head of state was a Kia. It was a pretty sharp looking Kia though.
